Summary
The last day or so (what time he could still keep track of) had been full of strange, small pleasures. Clothes, shoes. Food with flavour. Sunlight. Breeze. Cassian had watched as Melshi quietly wept at each in turn. And if Cassian had wept quietly under the stream of water, that was no one’s business but his own.
So it’s not exactly a surprise to find that Melshi is weeping again. The occasional quiet sniff through the darkness muffled by a still trembling hand pressed to his face.

Summary
Cassian’s second frying was worse than his first. The first time was horrible, but he hadn’t known what to expect, so his body responded with simple, straightforward shock. The second time, however, he had his whole first shift to dread the possibility of experiencing it again. He knew what would happen, what it would feel like, and he was terrified of it.

Summary
If she thought about that, she would have realised that the child she was carrying would never get one last look at the beauty of their home. She would have realised that the last thing they saw before collapsing were the sterile blacks and greys of a Republican corsair, instead of the colours of freedom that surrounded Maarva now. And if she’d realised that, maybe she would have hesitated, allowed regret and second thought to reach her.
Maarva Andor was not a hesitator. Maarva Andor did not do ‘regret’ or ‘second guessing’. So she walked on, and Clem followed, and the child in her arms stayed there, helpless.

Summary
From the day Brasso took him to see Clem’s stone on Rix Road, Cassian, who knew only then that his future was uncertain and grim, knew one thing about his fate for certain; He would never be a brick. To the vocal minority of Ferrix, the small handful of neighbors who insisted they would never accept him into the community, it would seem a rightful punishment for the crime of being born somewhere brighter. To Maarva, it would seem a rejection of all she’d tried to do to make him feel at home here. To him, though, it’s a way of clinging white-knuckled onto the last shreds of his homeworld that haven’t fallen through his hands.

They always chased moments like these; full of feelings they’d have to relinquish one day, along with the complex memories of every other deed they wrought and everything they put their bodies through. Along with themselves. But for now, they had this.

Summary
“Easy, love.” he said fondly. Cassian looked up at him from between his legs, looking tired but determined, brown eyes locked on Brasso’s as he dragged his hands up Brasso’s thick thighs.
“I make you cum, then we take a break for today.” Cassian said sternly, ever the dealmaker even now that he didn’t need to be, “Deal?”
“Deal.” he rumbled fondly, “Anything you want, you know that.”
Cassian didn’t answer.

Summary
Cassian, on the other hand, stared ahead for as long as his eyes would let him. Anything could’ve happened by the time he opened them again. But he felt the warm air, the life in his arms. He didn’t have any of those things only hours ago. They had made it. That counted for something.

Summary
It had taken some convincing to get Cassian to stay with him. He was a stray through and through, used to coming and going as he pleased, used to getting himself into all manner of situations that he might not be able to charm or fight his way out of, always fighting for the greater good regardless of his own health. Ergo, the logical solution in Brasso’s mind was to keep him under close supervision, closely guarded and never alone. Not a prisoner, simply a spy for the Inquisitorius. A spy too valuable to send out into the field. A spy kept safe within the walls of the fortress, safe and treasured at Brasso’s side.
For some reason, it hadn’t occurred to him that Cassian would react poorly to that idea.

Summary
Cassian had been working a case involving thirteen missing people for almost seven months. Well, technically she wasn't supposed to be investigating this one; since there were no bodies, Mothma had assigned her to other cases that had better leads. But she pursued it in her free time nonetheless.
Until about a week ago, when a call came in.
