Summary
An "alternate ending" to Azula's storyline in the show, in the form of a more definitive ending scene for both her & Ty Lee after Zuko's Coronation as Fire Lord. Meant to serve as a scene that could have happened in canon between Zuko's coronation and the final scene of the series, giving an explanation to why Ty Lee (and Azula) weren't present in the Jasmine Dragon with the Gaang.
Also meant as a "happier ending" that better acknowledges Azula as a person following her hitting rock bottom in the Agni Kai.
Takes place a few weeks/month or so chronologically after being defeated by Katara.
Partially inspired by Grey DeLisle's statement that in her perfect world, post-series Ty Lee & Azula escaped to a romantic desert island. -

The Fire Lord’s family was so rich. They had so much and Ty Lee could almost taste it in the air. These two children could’ve seemed almost normal as they sat for dinner if it wasn’t for the way they held themselves. The sister teased the brother and they completed each other and they shifted and smiled and joked.
They could’ve been just like everybody else if it wasn’t for the way everybody in town refused to meet their eyes. If it wasn’t for that posture that nobles had, that stiffness, that poise. The youngest daughter was her age, Ty Lee felt centuries older.

Drabble No. 12: Jet had his little gang, and it's a perfectly adequate found family. But it's not enough to erase his past trauma.
Drabble No. 13: Hama is the last waterbender alive in the Fire Nation prison. With no one but the rats and guards to interact with, something in her snaps.
Drabble No. 14: On Ji was a bit in love with Kuzon, but more so enraptured with the shift in thinking he wrought, the changes he left in his wake.
Drabble No. 15: A set of four haiku on each of the four elements. Might be my favorite of the bunch (so far).

Summary
This fic explores Ty Lee's journey navigating the world as a person with AuDHD. She becomes fast friends with Azula in high school and the two grow closer throughout high school and college. Ty Lee develops feelings for her pretty quickly, though she doesn't realize it until later, when a romance blossoms between the two of them. This fic is less dark than most of my other projects and Azula is a bit less intense than her canon counterpart, but it contains some themes of bullying, mental health issues, compulsory heterosexuality, homophobia, internalized homophobia and family dysfunction.
