Horohoro was humming to himself that afternoon, tapping his foot restlessly as he scanned the shelves for dashi stock, when it suddenly hit him. He glanced down at his basket, realising what was missing.
Sweet potatoes.
He groaned in frustration. He was going to have to head right back across the store to get them, and the milk he was already carrying was bulky in his arms. With a shrug of defeat, he pivoted sharply to head back across the store—
—And promptly crashed straight into someone.
He froze as he glanced up again, feeling his breath catch in his throat.
“…Ren?”
After many years since the shaman tournament, Horohoro and Ren never expected to accidentally run into each other in a grocery store in Tokyo.
Over dinner, massages and Chinese hairpins, they slowly fall for each other, until a looming crisis abroad threatens to pull them apart.

It is pointless to try and change the rumor made about you, especially in a time periods where people were heavily superstitious, nothing more than sheep, falling easily into lies.It didn't help he could hear their thoughts, see their blackened hearts, feel their judgment polluting the air.
When judgment turns to hatred, there is nothing you can do, only letting the deep waters drag you in.
Getting reincarnated into his third life brings in unforeseen anchor, one that pulls him out of the deep waters, throwing him into a tornado instead, others soon joining him, despite their innocence.
Hao was content with portrayed as a monster, consumer of souls, hungry for power but when truths are revealed, history written by those who lived it is coming to light, uprooting everything everyone once knew.
