LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS.
Anyways while I’m new to the fandom I do have to say this is one of the best depictions of how the characters im Rivendell would react to a random person who knows too much just showing up. Plus the reason people believe her to be Elrond’s niece is because Elrond pulled a Wanda Maximof and basically altered reality and transformed her into his niece.
It’s kinda horrifying and scary. But hey when an Eldritch abomination decides that you’re his long lost niece after unintentionally erasing your memories of who you were before. You kinda don’t have any other options than to accept it.
Also Glorfindel my favorite balrog slayer is having a terrible time in this. Like the main character is unknowingly, reminding him of Meaglin. Dude is constantly five steps away from a panic attack. Every time we get to see from things from his POV.
(Also I love our Mcs lowkey crush on Glorfindel. I ship it. But in a this incredibly dangerous guy is terrified of this tiny unassuming girl way. It’s hilarious)
Love Erestor in this! He’s wonderful! The only one who managed to remain levelheaded and doubtful of the assumptions Elrond was making unfortunately for him, Elrond is a reality, bending eldritch abomination. And he has very much decided that this woman is his niece.
