Ayan had a few brushes ready and he watched how Akk’s eyes closed as he dipped the brush into the first colour, tipping Akk’s head back a little bit.
Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Purple.
A little rainbow.
Akk kept fighting a smile from spreading across his lips too widely. Ayan didn’t mind it, even if it meant that he had to take little breaks as Akk was having a difficult time keeping a straight face. The bristles of the brush tickled and he felt so happy.

Akk got expelled from Suppalo. He went to the cliffs to try to commit suicide but was stopped by a mute woman. Years later Akk is living under a new name with new friends and a new view of the world.
Akk got into trouble with the law with his group of friends. He was betrayed by a man he thought he could trust. None of that mattered he couldn't get rid of the memories of Suppalo. The memories of Kan Wat and Thua. The memories of Ayan.
But now that Ayan had found him again at a ROL protest he felt his world crumbling. All his old fears and insecurities that he had repressed were back on the surface.

And no, he doesn’t mean the whole ‘pulling the brakes on the truck so it almost runs over the students’ issue, or the whole ‘ Suppalo curse’ he keeps hearing about. He also doesn’t know how those two things are connected. Yet.

One moment he was entering his second year in university, getting ready to move in together with Aye into their very first apartment not far from the campus... he blinked once as he came to the edge of the hill and when he opened his eyes instead of the abyss under his feet, he was back in Suppalo, standing at the gate of the school dressed in his uniform, wearing the Head Prefect arm band as if the last 2 and a half years were just a dream and he never left.
