Summary
For the past eleven years, Varian has based his understanding of the world on theories, hard evidence, and the tangible qualities that come from science. When two witches move into an abandoned house just outside of Old Corona, his preexisting understanding of the world is completely thrown for a loop. Eager to learn more about this new species, he follows the younger witch deep into the woods to learn more.
Surprisingly, he learns that witches and humans have more in common than he thought.
