Summary
Yiling Laozu was one of the biggest characters on the Sunshot LARP field. He made his own faction, raised an army of the dead, and was single-handedly responsible for destroying the yin iron economy. Unfortunately his actions caused no end of problems for the game runners - so after Yiling Laozu’s death, his player Wei Ying was very firmly asked to leave the game. Four years and a change of management later, and Wei Ying is back! Only difference - rather than being let loose on the field again, he’s crewing now and playing a stream of NPC zombies, merchants and diplomats.
While he's barred from raising the dead, he still has plenty of time for important out of character shenanigans, including but not limited to avoiding his family, poking electrical wires, corrupting the youth, and bothering Lan Zhan.
One year, four events, and a tale of campfires, love and live action roleplaying.

Wow! Ok so I know nothing about LARP, but this fic lays it all out so you're never lost in what's going on the LARP storyline while simultaneously keeping up with the character plots.
WY is invited back into Wen Qing's NPC team, so he's intermittently playing zombie #4, assorted goddess minion#6, and delivering plot to players to guide them through encounters. When he's not being an NPC, he's reconnecting with his siblings, whom he hasn't really spoken to in 4 years since getting kicked out, and bugging (read: flirting) with Lan Zhan, who played the venerable Hanguang-Jun. We have the juniors as well, A-Yuan who was adopted by Lan Zhan's character, and Jingyi, LZ's cousin, and Jin Ling, Zizhen, and A-Qing.
Xue Yang is a creepy mofo and really well-written, being his usual psycho self in and out of character to Xiao Xingchen, and taking advantage of the minor relationship problems he has with Song Lan. But A-Qing is there to make sure her unofficially official adopted dads get their shit together, roping in WY and the game refs to help as needed.
There's also a lovely slow burn, as WY plays a wandering minstrel who flirts outrageously with Hanguang-jun and then is oblivious to the crossovers between his character's feelings and his own. Loved it!
