Summary
It’s not that I hated my old life. I really did love it. I was making good trouble, comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable -- all that moral, self-righteous shit. I had friends and family who were proud of me, loved me, and sought my advice probably more than they needed to (why, I have no idea).
But I’d played the games, I’d read some meta-analysis, and I’ve always been someone who thought more than she spoke.
I thought I could change destiny. I thought I could edit it as well as I could mentally edit each sentence I’d say before I said it, as well as I could edit the words I would send off to print.
I guess he was right in a way, wasn’t he? “An editor’s soul, each edit etched not in ink nor blood, but in the very air we breathe, the thoughts in our heads.”
Note: began in grade 12. I have probably grown more than any person should have to in three years. Thus, as the character is an editor, as I have been an editor (Self-insert? Maybe. Be the change you want to see in the world and all that), I have edited the earlier chapters. If you’re interested in my story (or my story) read on, and do let me know your thoughts.
