This meant in its endless pages of legal jargon, it hid a loophole: Ajaw needed a body, and it would come from Kinich. Only an ignoramus would assume this meant Ajaw would claim Kinich’s body after he died (no matter how much he might have implied that).

Unbeknownst to Muir Innes sucked in a breath as he registered their position, cheeks flushing further.

tldr: Innes gets some help from Muir and vice versa, it slowly starts to spiral from there until both parties feelings are undeniable anymore.
