Summary
it was finally nighttime, where crickets chirped and toads croaked in the backyard which was conveniently next to a lake. fireflies swarmed above the lave and white moths were attracted to the dim porch lights. the light brightened the porch but the backyard was dim black. the rocking chair quietly creaked against the old hardwood planks, rocking both john and his baby. he cradles the newborn, his eyes rarely leaving the sight of her. she sleeps peacefully, wrapped in a light pastel multi-colored polka dot blanket. the perfect baby girl was finally in their hands.
