Summary
Bruce Wayne just needs some yard work done. And maybe a bit of a distraction in the form of a cute farmhand.
Clark Kent is just trying to get by on his family's farm without revealing too much about himself.
Both end up a little too distracted, and both reveal a little too much.
(AU where Batman is fighting crime in Gotham, Clark Kent is Kryptonian but never moved to Metropolis to be Superman.)

Nine days.
Nine days without that searing crimson arc splitting the Metropolis dawn – too fast to question, too bright to doubt.Nine days without the impossible physics of Superman mapped across airwaves and lenses – as if certainty itself orbited him, and gravity took orders from him.
But the pattern has fractured.
The Justice League’s statement spoke of off-world diplomatic missions – delicately precise phrasing, crafted to preempt scrutiny. Headlines are soothed, Metropolis pacified. Everyone buys it.Lex Luthor doesn’t.
From his citadel of feeds and frequencies, Lex watches with unblinking precision – a ritual nearly religious in its scrupulous ceremony. Screens arrayed before him like altar pieces: each monitor captures fragments, rare angles from carefully hidden vantage points. Suicide Slums. The Daily Planet façade. Hob’s Bay. Trauma bays of Met General. A symphony of motion, patterns he could predict down to traffic flows.A breathing mosaic of a city he once called his, alone.
The city's noise is strained, brittle – as if waiting for a cue that never comes.
Absence, too, is presence. Data enshrouded.
“Where the hell are you, Clark?”
