Summary
Magic was something that was supposed to be exciting. Similar to a graduation party, celebrations were thrown whenever magic manifested. It was a sign of a healthy child. Unless something horribly, horribly went wrong.
When Midoriya Izuku's magic manifests, it's completely out of control, leading to his mother being injured and magic blocking cuffs permanently placed on his wrists. He shouldn't want anything to do with magic, with becoming a witch, and yet he can't help fighting for a world where no one has to be scared of magic anymore.
Or where witch!Deku is discriminated against for having uncontrolled magic but he ends up learning how to control it in the hopes of repairing his relationships with his mother and best friend.
