Given what he was trying to do, it wasn’t that big a surprise when the arrow exploded on him. He swore violently as the acid burned through his clothing, but he couldn’t exactly say that he was surprised. Still, he hadn’t actually planned for how to stop the acid if it got on something it shouldn’t, and he didn’t have a way to clean it up, really, so there was nothing he could do but wait for it to get used up. Thankfully it didn’t agitate his skin, because by the time the acid had burned itself away too, all that remained of his clothing were a few useless rags and just enough of his pant legs to cover his shins. The only clothing that was still intact was his hat.
“Fuck.”
