The guy looked up at him from where he was sitting at the bar. He dropped his glass of water onto the bar and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
Something in his quick movements and clenched jaw made his demeanor more fitting for a feral cat. His outfit did little to help Richie’s growing crush, with his khaki shorts and polo t-shirts that were seemingly endless—every time Richie saw him he was wearing a different colour. Which, admittedly, hadn't been that many times, but Richie still thought it was weird.
Someone with such a ridiculous wardrobe and a cute face? Richie was a goner.
And bingo, he’d gotten his attention.

Turning to face the yakuza, he noticed that Fuyuhiko wasn’t looking at him, cheeks bright red and eyes closed.
“D-Don’t talk about it.. I.. They just happened to, uh.. match your hair.” The shorter stuttered out, gritting his teeth a little.

Alcohol had made him bold that night. That paired with the rush of victory, of pride, had made him crudely proposition Kaveh in public. It had paid off, thankfully, but he still felt uneasy, especially after Kaveh had pulled him apart that night, had stared into his eyes as Alhaitham's composure had cracked. Kaveh had agreed to court him, something that should have left him relieved. However he found himself hesitating and being overly cautious in situations in a way he hadn’t been before.
If Alhaitham was being honest, the truth was that he was being a coward.
They'd needed to talk for weeks. However anxiety was an old, quiet companion that left Alhaitham accommodating Kaveh more than communicating with him, unable to voice the dread coiled around his throat.
