Summary
Every spring, Moomin awaits with shining eyes and a beaming smile the reunion of him and his best friend Snufkin. Little does he know, Snufkin feels much the same - perhaps even more.
To Snufkin, the spring isn't just beautiful because of the pinks and the blues of the blossoming flowers - it's because, with every spring, Snufkin knows there will be someone waiting for him in the valley with warm, open arms.
But now, Moomin won't be there this spring. Or the next spring. Or the next spring. Or perhaps until the end of time.And it's all Snufkin's fault.

Many years later, Snufkin finds himself traveling to Moominvalley one last time, side by side with a little lost stranger whose childlike nature reminds him all too much of his old friend. Snufkin grows to understand what it means to love other people, and understanding he made the worst mistake of his life leaving those he loved behind. . . And accepting that strange offer from the creature, known to few, as Meno.
