Summary
Sapnap has never really been the type of boy that gets all love-struck every time a pretty face walked by.
He grew up around tough boys with a lot of skill while he stayed in the sidelines, an example of this is how he's the strongest defense in their hockey games while his best friend Clay is on starting line. Don't get him wrong, he's never wanted to be the center of attention either, never wanted to be the life of the party -Sapnap just wanted to be him.
Things are simple and he wants it to stay that way.
The sentiment wasn't shared by Karl Jacobs, who is on center stage every day, belting out a song or acting out a scene in the school's latest play. Around him things weren't as simple as they seemed. He liked that and the thrill of having to guess how an audience perceived him.
Relationships were always fleeting things for him, his interest in them faded just like they did in the plays he finished. Completed, done, with no reason to carry on.
The easiest answer to Sapnap about sudden interest in him is that Karl has a pretty face, and Karl thought the hockey player being around him was great for now.
But when this play stops, Karl tells himself, so will my interest in him.

LEFT OFF ON CHAPTER 5!!!
"So..." Nick trails off, hand pressing into Karl's lower back as he grins with a happy flush across both cheeks. "Are you going to kiss me or am I going to have to lie to Dream when he asks?"
Hands moving up to fist the back of his jersey, Karl nods and laughs a little nervously. "I'm going to kiss you." Head dipping down, Karl closes the distance between them and kisses Nick.
