Summary
It’s only the beginning of the first session, but Pearl would like to consider herself well-adjusted.
She didn’t cry during the introductory meeting, after all. She stood there and chuckled along with the group as she watched Gem get acquainted with their new world. She forced herself to grin and smirk when Martyn remarked that he tried to warn Grian about the new player and Grian shut him down. And when everyone turned and ran off to start their new lives, she followed the players next to her instead of instinctively sprinting in the other direction to catch up to Gem, who was already hand in hand with Lizzie.
But Pearl’s fine. She’s fine. Not every alliance has to last forever. And if she can’t stop blaming herself for trapping Gem in this hell with her, well, Pearl will just have to ignore that. There’s no point in holding onto emotions in these games.
