“This is the sixth position,” Alonzo explained, silently thanking whoever was responsible for his genetics and therefore his differently patterned legs. It was a lot easier to see the difference than with both legs having the same colour; it had also helped many a kitten to not mix up left and right.
“It might look easy, but I want you to press your heels together as much as you can, especially when you go on tiptoes. Wouldn’t want you to hurt your ankles, would we?”
Victoria frowned in concentration, straightened her knees and pressed her heels together, carefully rolling up on tiptoes. Alonzo held her paws a while longer, then he let got of one, then the other, and quickly gripped them again when Victoria began to wobble.
“Oh!” she said, surprise evident in her voice.The first dance lessons are formative for every cat. Cassandra and Alonzo do their best, and Victoria is a promising pupil.
