She started to look over her shoulder at Tachihara’s shout, but… her neck wouldn’t move.
"Higuchi!"
I'm trying! she wanted to say, but her chest was so tight. Was she even breathing? It hurt—it hurt so much. And, God! She couldn’t move her neck! Her neck wouldn’t move and it hurt and it wouldn't move and—
"Move!"
The next thing she knew, something heavy collided with her shoulder, shoving her to the ground. She barely managed to catch herself with her hands, wheezing and panting as loose gravel dug into her palms.
Something whizzed past her, burying into a car a few feet away. Shit—she almost got shot. That was… that was close.
