After being separated following the Apostasy for years, and then another year while Xaden braved Basgiath without him, Bodhi Durran nearly loses his composure when he sees his cousin taking roll at the parapet.
There’s a certain coldness in those otherwise familiar onyx eyes. A coldness that hadn’t been there in the years they spent growing up together. A new scar graces his angular face, dragging from just above his eyebrow all the way down to the very top of his cheek. If anything, it only makes him more handsome. Xaden has always been blessed with good looks, ever since they were young. Ever since girls started taking notice, and Bodhi got to hear stories from his cousin about making out in the woods and fumbled touches in the quieter, lesser used areas of the fortress they once called home. It had always been exciting, in a way, to hear those tales. To live vicariously through his older cousin and all of the trouble he got away with. Bodhi would spend the rest of the day thinking about the things he told him, what it must have been like, what it must have felt like.
