Summary
Alan Knight Johnson lives in Queens, New York. He’s about to be 17 on January 19 next month, and he still has no direction in life. All Alan likes to do is spend his days locked up in his room playing video games, rotting on his bed, or just roaming around the city while listening to music. He has no friends, and his ex-best friend’s lackeys are always constantly bullying him or messing with him. And then there is his family, with his parents seeing him as a troubled kid who is in need of more help than what his therapist has already provided, and his two annoying siblings, his little sister who is always trying to outshine him in everything, which always gets on his nerves. And his perfect older brother, a captain in the NYPD, who is always overprotective of him. With all that happening in his life, Alan can't help but see everything or anyone in his life as stagnant and cruel. He wants a reason to keep going, and something in him can’t help but break when Injustice is happening around New York. But one day everything changes when he suddenly meets a little spider who ends up biting him. Now Alan must decide whether he should forever turn a blind eye to injustice or finally bare his fangs and break his chains.

Where we're at: Jumping back in time, we meet Jack's best friends on 1218. Sisters really. One is trying to get him to focus on the competition they're in that weekend. The other...throws everything off the rails.

Elena weakly shook her head, eyes still wide with disbelief as she brushed the wet hair from her face. "You jumped off a damn plane, into the ocean... just for me." She paused as she watched the brunet slump onto the sand, exhausted. "You went back for me."
"I'll always go back for you. You fall, I'll catch you." Ayden, then, tilted her head to the side and looked at her with a tired, slightly close-eyed smile. "And it's like I told you: when it comes to us, I'm in it for the long haul."
Elena grinned back just as tiredly, remembering her telling her that the day they met. "Till the end of the line," she quoted, grabbing onto her best friend's hand.
"Till the end of the line," Ayden agreed, gently squeezing Elena's hand in return.
