“I’m sorry.” he mumbles quietly against Kageyama’s chest, holding him as tightly as his strength allows. Tears falling down in a quiet stream between sobs, trying his best to be discreet about them, without success.
“What are you apologizing for? There is nothing to be sorry about. Don’t be stupid.”
“It was my fault we lost.” The words come out of his mouth so low that Kageyama could have missed them if he weren’t so focused on every single detail of Hinata’s body. Slowly his hands go up to his partner’s face, holding it firmly, rubbing his thumbs around his cheeks, cleaning his tears. “Maybe if I didn’t get sick we may have gotten a chance. If I was bett-” he couldn’t bear seeing him suffer like this “Stop. Everything will be okay.”
