Summary
She’s spent half the night trying to think of how she’ll explain this to the kid. How he’ll take it. He really ain’t giving her much to work with here.
She tries again. “Ya might’ve noticed Mister J isn’t around. Well, I’ve been thinking that maybe we oughta do things a little eensy-bit different. Try something new, just for a laugh.”
That seems to register with the kid. He perks up, a dandelion in concrete. “Is it a game?”
Her plan for everything she was going to say, all of the apologies and stilted explanations, dies in her mouth.
“Yes,” Harley says. “Yeah, it’s a game. A big game. We’re playin’ hide and seek. And Mister J is the one doin’ the seeking. And if he finds us, if he catches us, personally, it’s game over. Forever.”
AKA Harley is free of the Joker. She's got a very traumatized Dick Grayson in tow. He's even conscious. Now she just needs to decide what to do with her life. Unfortunately, Dick Grayson has other ideas.

Summary
She gets fifteen-hundred miles west before her brain can plan anything other than “away.”
Distance won’t help. Distance means nothing. He’d find her in an Antarctic research outpost, in the smallest village in Timbuctoo. She’s seen him do it.
“The most dangerous game”, he’d say, with a mad twinkle in his eye. He’d give someone the distance to run across continents, spooling out the fishing line until they finally feel safe, then come waltzing in his best suit through their front door.
Speed is what’s important.
Speed and checking for car-bombs.
OR: Harley is finally out of Gotham, with an injured Dick Grayson in tow. All she has to do is keep them both alive for the foreseeable future. Simple, right? If only Harley knew the first thing about getting better.

“Did you mean it?” It’s the first thing Ivy’s said in ten minutes.
Harley looks over. “Mean what?”
Ivy isn’t looking back. No inflection in her voice. “When you said you were leaving him.”
“You thought I didn’t mean it?”

Harley tries again. “You think I’d lie to you?”
“I think you’d lie to yourself.”

She paused before she did. He had ordered himself another drink and she helped herself to a sip as she opened the phone app and set up the right number before she handed it over. He watched her take another drink from his glass and then once more before he hit the call button.
"Hey," the voice on the other end said. Flat and even and unbothered.
"Your girlfriend is drinking my very expensive glass of pinot grigio and trying to pick me up at a terrible bar off-campus," he said.
"Yeah, she mentioned that."

“You won’t. And Hydra won’t ever get near you again.” Steve says it like a spell, like a geas, like he’s gonna bend the fabric of the universe to his will. It’s a vow, binding as anything ever said in front of a priest. “I will raze the Goddamn Earth until Hydra ain’t so much as a Goddamn smear.”
Bucky breathes out, slow and controlled. “I want to believe that.”
Steve leans in and presses chapped lips to the centre of Bucky’s brow. “Believe me.”
***Nine months on the tundra. Nine months, in a world turning, churning, transformed. Nine months with the wolves.
Steve and Bucky, in Greenland. The Winter Soldier was never permitted to sleep, but maybe Bucky Barnes can rest, here, at the edge of the world. Steve Rogers cannot conjure healing magic, but he can shift his shape, and that might be the next best thing.
