“Do you smell something?” the retired bloodrush player asked. “It’s very… sweet, and a little like cut grass.”

Then Riz could feel something looming right behind him. Seacaster was there, inches behind him. He could feel the heat of his body.
“Ah, so you’re a beta?”
Suddenly the alpha was leaning over him, his arms on either side of Riz’s hunched body. Riz felt his hot breath against his ear as he breathed “Because I could have sworn you were an omega, and my nose is never ever wrong.”
Riz shuddered at his low voice in his ear.
“You look like you’re in a pretty poor position, Gukgak.” the other reporter continued. “Caught in the office during a heat? What was your plan? Leave and get raped in an alleyway?”
