Summary
Sengoku taught Garp that his job and life don't just revolve around Roger and his crew of misfits and Garp mildly agreed to that.
Roger realized the change so late and he rushed to make himself relevant to Garp again.
If anyone were to tell Rayleigh that there will come the day they'd chase after a marine who genuinely wanted nothing to do with them, he'd laugh in their face and toss them to the ocean. Well, he couldn't laugh anymore now.
Or in short: Garp stopped chasing after Roger so Roger made it his mission to make him return to their old habit, even if it means he had to be the one doing the chase now.

Summary
Once on an island in the East Blue, the weakest of the four Blues, two powerhouses would grow restless, casting their gaze out to sea. Their subsequent meeting would begin the chain of events felt decades later. Or maybe their meeting was the ripple from a stone cast 800 years ago. Regardless, as with most stories, a D was at the center of everything.

Summary
Dragon dreaded this. He knew the curse of their bloodline, the curse to keep the D's from ever being completely happy living in harmony without tearing it apart. He couldn't keep his son, not when he's trying to overthrow the World Government.
So Dragon can only turn to his only family. His father. Who is also a D but at least not trying to do anything world-changing at the moment. Damn D's curse, damn it all.

Or: The reason why D's kept on being tragic and/or absent parents, it was because the world itself tried to keep them apart, even from their own blood. Nothing can be done.
D's will always bring up a storm that is dangerous to themselves and their enemies.
