Summary
“I’m dreaming,” she breathes, as he stands looking up at the sky with his entire body translucent and lacking colour. If she unfocuses her eyes a little, it’s as if he’s not there at all. In the brief moment where he glances towards her but does not bring himself to move, all she can hear is the lazy dripping of blood onto the stone floor, forming a puddle that cannot stain the rug nearby.
“Good evening, little girl,” is what he finally says, smiling that same easy grin he’d had when they first met but with the same sadness in his eyes too, as he called her what he had called Lucy, when the loss was still so fresh. “If you are, it’s a dream we’re sharing, I can tell you that.”
(Mina and Quincey talk on the way back to England. Some wounds are healed. Some are still raw.)

Summary
“Good night,” Quincey calls out, as he tries to find a position on the grass that won’t end with his back filing its complaints in the morning. "May we survive to see the daybreak, and put that devil in the ground.”
Except Jack is apparently a dirty little hypocrite, so when Quincey wakes up some indefinite amount of time later, and turns his head to where he should be asleep on his spot of vaguely comfortable grass, he finds Jack still sitting by the fire, staring out at the river.
“Jack,” he says, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
(On 31st October, Quincey embarks on the hardest mission of all: getting Jack to go to sleep.)
