The cold winter air makes Sae shiver and he clutches his clothed hands. He watches as his fogged breath dances in the light of the setting sun and how it disappears shortly after. When Sae ever gets reborn, he wants to be reincarnated as something simple. He doesn’t want to sense, he doesn’t want to feel so much he breaks, he doesn’t want to remember and he doesn’t want to be able to think either.
Like a plant, he thinks. Maybe a dahlia or dianthus, or maybe something everyone knows and likes— a daisy perhaps. But then again, Sae doesn’t want to be liked. He’s destined to be ugly, to destroy, and to hurt, after all. A poisonous flower perhaps then.
He doesn’t feel his legs anymore from sitting all those fifteen hours during that flight. Sae places one foot after the other and steps outside the airport to the bus station. He squeezes himself through the big crowd, his luggage being dragged behind him, and Sae cringes every time he touches a stranger.
