    Damian stood at the edge of the high-rise building. In one hand he held the ‘R’ ripped off from his Robin suit. In the other hand, he held the new mask his mother had gifted him. He had asked for a new suit, all black kevlar and a black mask.
    Damian let the ‘R’ slip from his fingers, a final goodbye. He slipped his mask on and began his patrol, out of the Bats’ sight. Gotham’s criminals learned of a new terror that night. He never killed, but he made you wish he had.

They look lost in each other as they seem to be stepping away from the chuppah, the broken glass at their feet and the ring on the young man Bruce doesn't recognize catch the light perfectly and Bruce knows, with all his heart, that the actual ceremony is already over.
