“Mmm, how again?” Still, needing to save some face, Mole replied. Reluctantly, may he add. He didn’t try to cover the bored tone his voice carried, resting his cheek into the palm of his free hand.
“Well,” The man spread his hands across a rolled-out map, his fingers starting at the very top again.
Mole wanted to take his pen and stab his eye out.
But then came a small euphoria.
Nothing of interest was spoken by the other man, but instead he felt a heat encasing him. His knees felt weak, and when they twitched, wanting to close, a form blocked them.
Behind Mole’s unreasonably small glasses, he lowered his gaze, just able to see a small sliver underneath his ebony wood desk.
He might as well have seen a glimpse of heaven, the tips of his ears warming at the sight. He had to bite the inside of his cheeks to stop a sly smile from spreading onto his lips.
