Summary
Logan is tired of being the cold, emotionless robot that everyone perceives him as. He’s repressed his emotions to such a great extent that he genuinely doesn’t feel anything major anymore.
However, this is where roads begin to cross. Logan feels that it would be nice and beneficial to experience strong emotions, but he doesn’t know if this feeling is stronger than his fear of expressing such things. Being viewed as a joke and not being taken seriously is his worst nightmare. Because of this, the logical side just keeps up his stone cold front to avoid being weak.
This dilemma Logan had found himself in really frustrated him. No matter how hard he tried to think of a solution, nothing ever satisfied both ends of the spectrum. The best he had come up with was to keep up the front when he was with the others and then let himself break down at night when no one was around, and even that didn’t help him nearly as much as he wished. This eventually led him to looking for answers online. One search led to another, and Logan has figured out something that might help him. It’s a bit risky, and he’ll have to hide it from the others, but he knows how to be safe with it, so he’ll give it a shot just to feel something.

Summary
Logan Croft was certain that the trappings of romance were wholly unnecessary for the social compatibility experiment known as dating. To prove it to his friends, Roman and Remus Kingsford, he agrees to ask out the next person to come through the doors to the courtyard from the cafeteria... who just so happens to be the emo skater king of Sanders High School, Virgil Delaney.
Virgil is just trying to get through his last year of high school while working to afford a shitty apartment and food to take care of his little brother Thomas. He doesn't have the time or energy for a relationship, despite his best friend Patton Morales worrying that he'll be lonely now that Patton is dating their other friend Janus Atea. To ease Patton's worries, Virgil promises to agree to a date with the next person who "works up the courage to ask for a date, but not a hookup".

"No, no! It's okay." Roman stepped back. He looked just as embarrassed as Virgil felt. "It's just I've never—you know—done that—or anything—before."
Virgil blinked. "Oh."
"Not that I don't want to! It's just ... Well, to be completely honest, I want the first time to be with someone I'm in a serious relationship with." Roman's face went pink, but surprisingly, his eye contact didn't waver. He fiddled with the red sash. "It's sappy, I guess, but ... I want it to be special."
"Of course. You deserve special."
(Or: Virgil isn't good at romance. He isn't good at being vulnerable and opening his heart up to someone else.
That doesn't mean he can't try.)

Summary
Who doesn’t like a good fairytale where the hero’s lover is cursed and they have to break it with true love’s kiss? Apparently Janus, who recently broke up with Roman after a messy lie. And Remus, who has a crush on Logan but feels like he can’t admit it. And Virgil, who lied and told Patton he was fine just being friends.
So of course when a witch escapes from Roman’s imagination and kidnaps Roman, Logan, and Patton, puts them under a curse, and expects Janus, Remus, and Virgil to break it, no one is amused.
Why can’t this be romantic like the books? And who gave that witch the right to meddle anyway? It’s not like they weren’t bound to get together eventually, but she could have at least asked first.
