Summary
"Max just came out to their parents," Chris explains. "And it didn't go well."
Eddie takes a moment to process that sentence. Max and Chris have been close friends for a few years now, 'they' is not the pronoun he's used to hearing accompany Max's name.
"Right, okay." Eddie pushes himself up from the couch and moves to pick up his car keys. "Of course they can come over. Where are we picking them up?"

Summary
But now Eddie is back, and Buck doesn’t need the bed. Doesn’t need to stuff his face into the pillow to smell the lingering remnants of Eddie’s scent; he can smell it now, just standing here, deep and forestry and enough to patch every hole in Buck’s chest. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t still want it, doesn’t wish desperately he could slide under the sheets and lay his head on top of Eddie’s beating heart.
Eddie comes home.
(or, after months of sleeping in Eddie’s bed alone, Buck finally gets to share.)

Summary
“I should probably go,” Buck says.
Lightning flashes in the window behind him— brilliant, fleeting, dangerous. The sky, in response, groans with thunder.
“Stay,” Eddie urges. “At least until the storm passes.”
Something comes over Buck’s face for a moment. Reluctance telegraphed by the furrow of his brow; sadness resting in the downward corners of his mouth. Eddie sees the exact moment Buck concedes. That’s the worst part about breaking up with someone you know better than yourself, he thinks. Neither of them can hide from the other.
Two weeks after Eddie breaks up with Buck, a storm traps the two of them together.

"We're just going to pretend like this isn't a chronic issue for you?" Buck presses, eyes sharp and intent on Eddie's.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Eddie objects stubbornly.
"We're just going to act like you haven't had a problem with every single person I've been with?"
"That's ridiculous," Eddie scoffs, but there's guilt pooling in his stomach and sweat beading down the back of his neck.

Summary
"Well, I would like to have a word with your employer then," Eddie says as he backs towards his car. "Oh no wait a second, that's you! No one is forcing you to do this!"
"Why are you so afraid of love?" Buck wails back instead of replying to Eddie’s accusation.----
Eddie knew that when he and Christopher moved to LA, there would be a lot more deities than he was used to. What he did not expect was a Cupid that had it out for him, determined for Eddie to fall in love despite Eddie's repeated refusals, denials and threats. But Eddie needs a partner in the field and it seems like the winged weasel is the closest he is getting.- Language:
