I may have only 'joined' the site in 2022, but I have been a guest for a long time. I was didn't know how easy it was to make an account and keep bookmarks to see when things had been updated, thought an account was just for those who posted.
Definitely didn't have tonnes of tabs open that I would flick through to see if an update had happened.
