Summary
In his early days as a slave, Aventurine was subjected to neuro-reprogramming that, when activated, makes him mindlessly obedient. Thankfully, the program was scrapped, and it’s been over a decade since he’s even seen someone who knows the key phrase – but Aventurine’s luck runs out while he’s crashing Ratio’s vacation.
Naturally, Ratio is not content to let some bottom feeding slaver make off with one of his few friends. “My trial will be held soon,” Aventurine says, ignoring the rapid thrumming in his chest. “To determine my punishment for breaking the cornerstone during my mission. It is decided that all the Stonehearts will take a vote to decide whether or not my own position as a Stoneheart will be taken away.”
Veritas’ expression doesn’t change as he takes in Aventurine’s words.
“They will take a vote on your… resignation?”
Aventurine averts his gaze to look at the floor. He doesn’t dare to stare into his partner’s concerned eyes when he utters the next words.
“No, Veritas. My execution.”

“What? Does that surprise you, Doc?”
Ratio tried to process everything, Aventurine just pulled the stem off of the cherry like it meant nothing, then it placed it between his teeth. “It’s not that groundbreaking, is it? I mean,” His eyes watched as it kept poking between his lips, before he continued. “If I just do it for work, then who really cares if I finish or not.”
“But Gambler,” He could feel himself get grey hairs because of him, “You do it all the time. For work.”
Aventurine shrugged, “I don't think I'm missing out much. Like, don't get me wrong. I’ve gotten close a few times but why waste my own time, yaknow?” Right as he finished speaking Aventurine spit the tied cherry stem into his martini glass. “I wouldn't want it becoming a bad habit now, would I.”
Or; Dr. Ratio helps Aventurine have an orgasm.
