Summary
Eighteen years after the war, Draco works as an Unspeakable in the Department of Mysteries, usually getting easy, simple and predictable cases or reports to complete. Using the information and theories he could only gather at a distance through books and research, he now gets the chance to finally work in the Death Chamber and study the Veil of Death. However, one day, something entirely inexplicable happens to the Veil. While Draco has no idea how it’s possible, he also knows that the sudden return of a familiar and important person in his husband Harry’s life, will change everything. Now, all he wants to do is try to figure out what happened and why, while trying to protect Harry from the unpredictability of it all and the loss he may face yet again.

Summary
The moment James hears that Regulus is missing, it’s as if his mind detaches from his body. He disconnects. Something within him breaks. It’s happened before. It’s not too much of a surprise.
The next thing James knows, he’s standing on a battlefield with Voldemort’s dead body in front of him. This is more surprising.
This is what happened while James was gone. James won’t remember it, but he’ll have to live with it when he hears the story.

“Really? That’s the line you go with?” Regulus responds, making a show of putting his bookmark in his book and taking out one of his earbuds. James just interrupted him, not that there was any reading to interrupt.
James shrugs. “I’m out of practice, I guess. Is this spot taken?”
“That’s… that’s just sand.”
