This time, it was Nerdanel who interrupted, her voice a warning. Maedhros couldn’t quite make out the words, but her meaning was clear: Shut up, smarty-pants!
“Of course,” Fëanor returned to the phone, reverting to his clear, didactic tone, “I’m exaggerating for effect, as I’m known to. I would never defect or betray my country…. No, Professor, you won’t. I’m afraid you’ll need to handle this one yourselves. I will not be bought, and I’ll be much obliged if you don’t call with such offers again.”
The Space Race begins when Doriath launches the world's first artificial satellite. Fëanor, a renowned astrophysicist of Aman, becomes obsessed with the potential of radio astronomy to contact the far reaches of the universe. Maedhros grows up and takes on his father's cause. Years later, a message is received.

Pippin did not answer. At another time he would have risen to the barb, offered up the wide-eyed wounded innocence that had gotten him out of many a scrape, perhaps even found a way to slyly imply Gandalf’s culpability instead of his own – but he was sick and frightened, and something still hurt somewhere deep, something he did not want to think about.
Pippin reckons with what Sauron left of him.

In which Pippin has approximately sixty uninterrupted leagues to find out everything that can be found out from Gandalf and gets approximately sixty times more than he bargained for.

A re-embodied Maedhros and Maglor arrive in Imladris with only fragmented memories of their final years — and find that Elrond had built an enormous statue glorifying their redemption, yet omitted their final fates from the histories he wrote as a loremaster.

Lothíriel of Dol Amroth marries Éomer King of Rohan, but she despises her new home, with its unfamiliar landscape and customs. She seeks to escape the only way she knows how, but when her plans go awry, she finds redemption in a place she never expected.
[Undergoing a stylistic overhaul since I learned a lot about writing of late, but this should not impede readability!]
PREVIEW:
The only pleasant thing she recalled was walking along the shore, her feet bare and her skirt hoisted up. Her chaperones followed far enough behind that if she looked up and listened to the sound of birds, she could pretend she was alone.There were no beaches here, only endless grass, and woods from time to time. Lonely. Cold. Bleak, even in springtime. But in Dol Amroth, the sun was always high overhead, warm as a gentle pair of hands, and the sound of waves a rhythmic rustle against the shore. The sand was soft as down under her feet, and the water balmy as a lukewarm bath.
Sometimes, she was even allowed to swim, though the process of assembling guards and finding a secluded spot was an uncommon hassle.
She would not be going back there now. The bathtub was her only sea, the copper sides her only shores.

I've got to be one of the worst farmers in the history of the Ferngill Republic. I've got bad crops, I'm in debt up to my eyeballs, the Mayor wants to bankrupt me, and I've made myself public enemy number one in town by saying the stupidest things imaginable. Too bad I also just so happen to be harboring a crush on the one guy that probably hates my guts more than anybody because of what I said about him.
But no one falls in love gracefully, right?
Main story is completed at chapter 25. Nice epilogue is chapter 26, and the spicy epilogue is chapter 27 which is why this fic is rated E.

It's my second winter here in the Valley, and my schedule is packed. Winter in Pelican Town has everything - The Night Market, festivals, Winter Star (obviously), and my favorite person's birthday! Oh, and it also has an accidental engagement, the exciting 'opportunity' to harbor my cousin from the invading Gotoro army, sudden and always-exciting family drama, bar fights (again? again.), and spending every second trying desperately to keep a certain doctor from talking to a certain ex-Joja employee about a certain situation.
Yep. Winter in Pelican Town really does have everything.
