Crowley blinked at him. “Sure. Care to enlighten me?”
“Indeed!” Aziraphale leaned slightly closer, grinning. Crowley, on the other hand, looked mildly concerned for Aziraphale’s mental state. “I thought you should know that I, as an angel, a being of love, certainly love you.”
If Crowley had been holding a glass of wine at that moment, it would’ve fallen to the ground. Seeing as though the demon was not holding a glass of wine, though, the most he could manage to convey his surprise was a resounding: “WHAT?”

Eve scoffed. “And what do I have to give you in return, my soul?”
Her question hung in the air awkwardly as she awaited a response. She realized Crawly wasn’t even paying attention to her, his gaze completely captured by the frozen angel in front of him. He shook his head slowly, not taking his eyes off the celestial being.

The year is 2016, and while Crowley and Aziraphale have long since made up, Crowley is still slightly bitter about the fight of 1862. When Warlock gets into a petty argument at school with his best friend, Crowley is reminded of what happened with him and Aziraphale all those years ago. He wants to prove to Aziraphale that he was in the right, but he can’t exactly tell anyone about what happened.
Unless… he told the internet. Yes, that seems like a great idea.

After all, with the way they act, they have to be a couple, right? Mutual pining, awkward conversations, and a very confused Shakespeare ensue.
Or: While reading R&J, I came upon the line in the title. Turns out Shakespeare was one of the first to use “angel” as a romantic nickname. The fic just wrote itself.
