He survives, somehow, deliriously unscathed. Left locked in a penthouse with a lion he’d just spent the better half of two weeks prodding with a very pointy stick. Louis promises travel, promises safety, if he leaves – an entirely reasonable request. Sensible, even.
So.
Daniel stays.
Which leads to now. Daniel’s hands, shaking where they grip the ballpoint pen. In the spare bedroom. In Dubai. Where he’s been. For two full days. Ever since Louis left him.
“You’re still here.”
If the voice startles him – well, he was shaking anyway.

Summary
Ed is about as in control of his heart as he is the tide. He may build fortresses around his heart, surrounding them with interwoven stretches of moats, but when his only building material is sand, one ill timed wave is enough to bring his castles to ruin.
The relief does just that, leaving his heart bare, not so much on his sleeve as on the ground between them. He feels raw, vulnerable, his sea salt lungs dry and aching.
Stede is alive.
In which Stede returns, Lucius doesn’t and Ed learns that feelings are meant to be felt.

Summary
Mobius's eyes drifted, again, in the direction of the two missing variants. He couldn’t quite see them from his spot, straining to catch the occasional blur of green that could have just as easily been grass.
He wouldn’t say he was jealous, because he wasn’t; Loki was entitled to do whatever he wanted, with whoever he wanted to do it with. So what if he chose Sylvie over him. That was fine.
It was fine.
Gods, he was pathetic.
