Summary
Six months in and the New Avengers had fallen into a routine with only a few bumps in the road. And being in charge of them isn't too hard. All things considered, Bucky thought being a leader wasn't so bad. The worst part was dealing with Valentina and keeping them from biting each other's heads off and trying to shrug off that exhaustion that just won't go away. But everything was fine, really. Nothing worth mentioning.

“Captain Nash?” Maddie's' muffled weeps could be heard slightly through her radio. “…I think I must’ve misheard you, please repeat. Did you say Firefighter Buckley is in active pre-term labor like as in pregnant with a child?”
“Dispatch that is correct, we need help down here. Both of our medics are out of commission and Buck— I mean Firefighter Buckley needs to deliver right away!”
Another scream could be heard in the background of the radio.

The process for coming out of hiding wasn't something Andy had spent much time thinking about. When it had popped into his head over the years, it had ached just to consider it, so he pushed it to the side. There had been talk about staying in contact, but that hadn’t materialised and over time it became another thing Andy just didn’t contemplate. Even though he had had faith in it at first - Robert had been so sure.
He’s nothing if not thorough, his brother, and before Andy left, Robert told him he'd set up a convoluted rabbit hole of forwarding addresses in order to be able to give Andy updates. “Coppers will probably be monitoring anything digital, so we go back to basics. Snail mail.” All Andy had to do was call a regional postal office in Dusseldorf, Germany and add one further address once he got settled. Andy assumed either the system hadn’t worked as well as Robert had hoped, or maybe Robert just hadn’t bothered to send any, because he never received any letters.
That is until 9 years after he’d left the village, when a postal van pulls up to the farm he’s working on and asks for Brian Moore.
Robert never gave up on Andy. Now Andy won't give up on him.
