"What do you think of godhood, Tommy?"
The stem of a daisy broke between Tommy's fingers and he cursed silently. Godhood? What kind of question was that?
People like Tommy didn't dare even think of being on the same level as a god. Maybe it was different for Techno, but he was someone in this cruel world.
And Tommy? Well, Tommy was nothing.
"Not sure what you mean, Techno. That's not something I think about all that much. More worried about my next meal, ya know?"
Techno twisted his body slightly to be able to look at Tommy. Red eyes were once again filled with that same melancholy that scared the boy. "What if you were given the opportunity to be a god? Would you take it?"
Would he? Tommy thought back to when he first met Techno. What he had mistaken as indifference at the time he now knew was loneliness.
Despite what others said, Tommy wasn't stupid. He knew who, no, what Techno was. He knew it the first time he laid eyes on him.
Loneliness was something that already wrapped it's greedy strings around Tommy's neck and pulled him down trying to drown him.
To live like that for an eternity? He wasn't so sure he could do it.
