Summary
Sam talks to Frodo about gardening.
He's not expecting Frodo to suddenly take an interest in gardening, to actively begin digging his fingers into the dirt and coaxing plants to grow. He knows better than to expect that. But he can also see a relaxing of the tension in Frodo's shoulders, an easing of the tightness around his eyes, when Sam talks. Frodo becomes a bit closer to the carefree man he'd been before when he listens to Sam and can muster a smile.
