And it’s not always going to be easy.”
“Comforting,” he mutters, and the hand tightens ever so slightly - not painfully so, just added pressure.
“It doesn’t mean it’s going to change for the worse, mate.” Mumbo squeezes his shoulder once more, before letting go.
Or: Grian and Mumbo have finally been reunited after being torn apart - but they have a lot to learn after almost three years of being separated, and Grian has to figure out just where his place is among the Hermits.

Adam squeezes the wheel tighter, the red of the stoplight illuminating the bruises on his knuckles as he forces himself to stare down at them. Anything. Anything to avoid looking at Morgan's shaky hand holding their bag of takeout food in her lap. If he looks, he's reaching over to grab her hand and interlocking their fingers together to stop her trembling.
The words had been stuck in his throat ever since she busted the lock on the old cellar he was found in that afternoon. I'm okay. I'm fine. You saved me. How could I calm the fear in your head? had been lodged in his chest with no escape ever since she threw his arms around him in a strong, almost too intense, embrace that landed her sideways in his lap as he sat bound to a chair.

He doesn’t mean to. It’s just—with all that time he spent teasing death, all the motorcycles and factory fires and blood-coated grenades—death gets impatient, in the end. Right as he’s starting to take life seriously. After he puts his name on the lease, buys life a ring, like, I’m in this for the long haul. Death gets jealous, and Buck falls through a second-story floor onto a derelict wrought-iron stair rail, and his femoral artery begins the quick but methodical work of leaking out the next fifty or sixty years of his life onto the charred tile floor.Bookmarked by waveridden

Adriana doesn’t tell their parents that she’s going to LA. She doesn’t tell Eddie, either—or ask, for that matter.
She does ask Chris, and he thinks it’s a good idea—says as much, on the phone, and doesn’t say much else.
“Buck will probably be hovering,” is what Chris does volunteer.
It still surprises her when the man who opens the door is not Eddie. It’s—Captain America, is the thing that actually comes to mind—a man close to a foot taller than she is, if not more than that, with blond curls and broad shoulders, and he’s got a question in his very blue eyes that’s probably less friendly than the one he actually asks her.
“Uh,” he says. “Can I help you?”
