Chapter Text

Dreams don't make the person, facts do. Delusions creates the dreams, then devours the truth in the depth of darkness, dominating the whole mind. Being a hero without a quirk isn't something someone can do, with society having a quirk based majority, fights will become tougher. Even if one did have a quirk, if a sickness develops which places you out of commission, once again the path to heroism is blocked off from all corners.

So when Izuku turns four and is told he has no quirk he was deluded himself constantly, convincing himself 'he can be a hero' when that was truly a lie. Izuku also born with an illness was told even if he had a quirk, his severe illness will only hinder him long before he can prove everyone around him wrong.

He does prove everyone wrong however, becoming a hero at the young age of six, he saved his friend from a car accident when the boys were playing out in the night-- sneaking out from the parental supervision being an easy feat as they pretended to be asleep.

He dies after pushing Katsuki away from an oncoming van who clearly wasn't using any working headlights to see either of the two and killed an innocent boy in the process. The hit did lead to his death but his illness quickened the process, so Izuku had no chance of surviving after direct contact.

Katsuki told the doctors later that day that Izuku did save him, not in a seething tone or with a scowl on his face but one of traumatisation and slight bitterness from it. Inko hadn't blamed him which was worrying, he had rather the woman go on a full blown rage course rather then have her silently staring and judging him.

Izuku was dead in this universe.

Or at least to everyone in his surroundings, to Katsuki Bakugou, Izuku Midoriya was well-- however he couldn't quite say alive as the boy really wasn't.

It happened days after the death of Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki went to visit his grave-- as a sign of respect-- to see Izuku sitting on the gravestone of his own tomb and kicking his legs around, when Katsuki came into his peripheral vision the green haired boy flew around in joy and happiness coming towards Katsuki happily.

"Hey Kacchan! You came to visit!" Izuku began, "I-I saw my mum waaaaayy earlier... a-and she said that I was d-dead. But it's fine, I just wanted you to be the hero for the both of us."

Katsuki didn't say anything, he didn't believe in the supernatural funnily enough, something about dying and having certain people see you was a weird concept he couldn't quite get his head around, but hearing the boy's words he frowned.

"Who said you could give up, Deku?" He growled but it came out as a whimper instead, his eyes made contact with Izuku eyes-- who was momentarily stunned-- and snarled, "w-we promised to be heroes together."

Izuku sniffed, "I'm s-sorry Kacchan, I didn't mean to."

"I won't accept a shitty apology like that," Katsuki scolded, "you really are going to give up? Didn't you say you really want to be a hero? So what's with this pathetic attitude."

Mitsuki, the mother of Katsuki, felt herself tearing up at the sight of her son arguing with the tomb stone, as if Izuku was there and for a moment she could see the conversation they were having-- an illusion from hearing many previous talks between the two-- and her heart clenched at Katsuki speaking to air.

Whilst she wanted to scold him for unnecessary swearing, she hadn't and held back from yelling at her child for various reasons-- one being grieving, this was Katsuki's way of coping to the situation. Not necessarily ideal but it was hard to dismiss that a lovely heroic boy suddenly died.

"K-Katsuki I'm sorry." She apologised, "Izuku i-isn't here with us."

"Shut it, old hag." Katsuki felt the tears pour from the corner of his eyes, "if that shit-stain can't even be a hero, then I'll be one for both of us."

-

Katsuki had turned thirteen and was awoken by a strange mumbling noise coming from the corner of his room. Abruptly, he opened his eyes and tossed a pillow to the corner before seething, "shitty Deku, don't fucking make a noise or I'll kill you."

It was ironically funny for Izuku and he laughed at the thought of dying again-- not in bravery but in awareness that he can't die again-- and had gotten another glare from Katsuki who wished to silence the boy completely. It had been seven years since Izuku 'passed' away and Katsuki promised to be the hero for them both.

"Shut it Katsuki!" A yell came from downstairs, Mitsuki was yelling at Katsuki quiet attempt of shutting Izuku up.

"You shut up, you old hag!" Retorted Katsuki, wanting to win over this mini battle between himself and his mother-- though she'd always win in the latter-- and he fell back down on his bed.

"Sorry Kacchan, I didn't mean to wake you up." Izuku apologised to Katsuki for his constant blabbering-- he had done so so many times some would think that it had lost its meaning, but it still stayed and sounded true-- Katsuki shrugged his shoulders and kissed his teeth in response.

"Whatever Deku, just don't do that shit ever again." Grumbled quietly to Izuku, "why the hell are you even here at--" red eyes wondered to the time, "you freaking shitting me, 4:30am?!" He doesn't bother being discrete.

"Shut up!" Another yell comes from outside his room, "or I'll personally shut you up."

"Like hell, you witch." Katsuki yelled back feeling his hands flare up in an oncoming explosion, he didn't suppress it and allowed for it to ignite in the palm of his hands for extra effect.

Silences ensued. "Deku, why the fuck are you here at four fucking thirty?"

"I-I was think about something cool and wanted to wait for you to wake up!" Izuku replied, "maybe I should waited a bit longer."

"No shit Sherlock, what is it anyways?" Grumbled Katsuki tiredly as he reached to rub his watering eyes.

"I was thinking if this was a quirk, like you said then wouldn't everyone see me?" Asked Izuku before getting a glare from Katsuki who seemed to relish in the fact that he cannot bring any harm to Izuku. Instead he kicked off the covers and ignored the green eyed boy by his side.

Katsuki was tired and he didn't want to deal with being near such tomfoolery at such early hours in the morning, alternatively he went to the kitchen for a drink. He pulled open the door of the fridge and pulled out a carton of orange juice. Twisting the cap he poured the contents of the drink straight into his mouth at an abnormally fast rate, almost cartoonish in the way he had done so.

"Kacchan, don't ignore me please," Izuku pleaded, "you know I don't like it." He continued with a solemn tone to his voice. Izuku never did like the silence, even when he was alive, the silence reminded him that he was dead and will never be able to come back, it also reminded him that no one else is capable of seeing him, only Katsuki-- who he was more than grateful for-- but he worried that one day Katsuki will ignore him like every living person on earth.

"Shut it, Deku. I'm fucking tired." Replied Katsuki to the ghostly figure.

The boy didn't take the form of a child and grew up as a ghost, skin paled greatly and his once vibrant viridescent hair dulled down to a dark green. He looked to be about thirteen years of age. He couldn't touch anything-- much like a ghost-- but he hadn't tried too hard to touch in the first place as false hope would've made him feel more useless then he already was. He still looked frail, like a skim could shatter him completely, also like he was still ill despite being dead.

Katsuki slammed the carton onto the counter and let out a sigh-- much like a drunk person-- he left for his room and changed into his school clothing which confused the green haired boy. He turned around, and fazed his head through a nearby wall, only watching the corridor.

"Kacchan? Where are we going?" Asked Izuku, knowing that wherever Katsuki went, he too would go-- excluding certain places where it is inappropriate. Katsuki slammed his door open and made a dent onto the wall from the force, already dressed and went to the bathroom, Izuku followed and stopped at the door awkwardly waiting.

After Katsuki was done with his business, he looked to Izuku and began to answer his question, "can't go back to fucking sleep, might as well leave this shitty house." He retorted harshly and left the house with his black backpack on his bag.

Katsuki stomped down the streets mildly irritated and getting many looks from the early risers. He didn't care about the fact that whenever he spoke to Izuku he'd get people staring at him, he didn't care about his therapist who was so sure Katsuki was suffering-- which he responded 'go and fuck yourself' in a non polite manner-- and he didn't care if this Izuku was real or not, it didn't matter if this Izuku was real, he promised to be a hero for the both of them, not some shitty medium business.

"I heard the news earlier! Rumours have it that All Might is here! D-Do you believe it?! All Might, here?" Izuku beamed.

"Why don't you go ahead and haunt him then?" Half-ordered Katsuki to the overexcited child beside him.

"T-Then I'll leave you." Izuku frowned. Katsuki felt a tad bit touched that Izuku was willing to haunt him instead of his idol, not that he'd ever admit such things, but he wondered why Izuku was attached to him then anyone else, surely his mother cares about him more then any mother could love a child.

"Whatever." Katsuki huffed and turned his head to hide a small grin, he then turned back and put on his usual scowl and walked to the park, taking the longer route. "What did you say about the fucking quirk?"

"Quirk? Oh right! I was thinking who's quirk would this be? Mine or yours? Cause if it were yours then couldn't you turn anyone to a ghost when they die? Or is it just one person? And if it were mine, why can't anyone else see me? Or rather, why can you see me? Would that not mean that you fit the special circumstances that allows you to see me? It leaves more questions rather than answers if you ever ask me. If only I had a notebook to write it and the ability to grab things then it would've been so easier for me in all honesty." Izuku mumbled onwards, holding two fingers in a gun shape and placing the curved part to fit with his chin as he thought about the many possibilities.

"Deku, you're fucking mumbling again, I'll punch you if you don't." Katsuki threatened, Izuku did stop only to find the funniness in Katsuki words.

"I'm a ghost, you can't punch me." Izuku snorted but discretely enough to not get Katsuki to set off. The blonde was still intimidating even if he was incapable of hurting Izuku.

"Fucking shut stain, don't test me."

Izuku held both hands up in a surrendering pose to show he meant no harm to Katsuki.

No harm at all.

Chapter Text

The long day proceeded on as normal as it could for a quirk based society. After the talk in the park-- or Izuku rambling for three and a half hours while Katsuki told him to 'fuck off' every once in a while-- they finally decided it was time to head to Orudera Middle School, the place Katsuki attended much to his discretion.

When arriving at the front gates, Katsuki was stared at by his non-dead peers who giggled and snorted whenever he had passed, a few fingers pointed his way even for those who were brave enough.

"Look, it's the loony." Whispered one of his peers, Katsuki snapped his head round to see the students head twisted away from him, almost breaking in the process.

Izuku frowned. "I'll be leaving, alright?" Said Izuku but Katsuki only found annoyance in his kind offer.

"You think I can't handle this shit," he growled, "what's the point of being a hero if these fucking pathetic background characters scare me?" Katsuki continued onwards with a condescending smirk on his features. Izuku felt his ghostly cheeks become ruddy in excitement and awe.

"Wow! Amazing Kacchan!" He said lifting a fist in the air immaturely, the particles of his body vibrated intensively in amazement. Lips parted a second time to say something till a voice interrupted him.

"Doesn't fucking mean you can leach onto me, shitty Deku. Shoo, the exams are coming up." Replied Katsuki, a flash of light emitted from the palm of his hands and momentarily frightened everyone in his radius.

The explosive boy turned back to the school building and entered through the double doors. He left to his locker and changed his shoes into something more school appropriate and went into his home room.

Once approaching the door of the home room, he slid it to his left and entered. Eyes scanned where he stood. No one could look away once their eyes was set onto Katsuki, his attitude, his quirk, his looks, everything about the boy screamed desperately for anymore onlookers, his body which wasn't muscular but still held some mass was unable to be ignored. The people watched for his presence but they continued to stare for his 'craziness'. The walking bomb was simply insane, and it had nothing to do with his fighting style or personality.

"Shut up, Deku." He yelled in the class, anyone who resisted the temptation to look had given in now. To Katsuki, he stared at Izuku Midoriya, to everyone else, he was staring at the chalkboard and calling it a 'good for nothing'.

"Isn't it funny? He's always going round calling items Deku." Snorted a member of his class quietly.

"Shush, I heard he's.. kinda... um. You know..." the other member held out his index finger and began to swirl it around on the temple of his head, the others around him then began to gossip about Katsuki's 'condition'.

Katsuki couldn't hear them from where he sat in the classroom, the class inside were quiet when they talked of him and in his opinion, unimportant, he didn't need to eavesdrop on people who weren't at his level or higher. Izuku did hear and felt guilty of Katsuki's isolation because he was selfish. Izuku would occasionally leave Katsuki alone at times due to sheer boredom he couldn't quite handle-- but only if he knew about the lesson that was taught-- and sometimes he wondered what would've happened if he wasn't around Katsuki. Would everything change?

"Oi, don't hover in front of me." Katsuki kicked his desk and Izuku quickly went aside to the windows and was half inside and half outside the building. He immediately snapped out of his thoughts and shook his head side to side with great force.

"S-Sorry Kacchan! I wasn't thinking." Replied Izuku with a perfect 90° bow, his torso went through the frame of the window and his butt stuck out on the other side. A translucent green glow covered up where he phased and dyed the frame with its viridescent colour.

Katsuki turned away. "Just don't get in my way. Why don't you go to U.A or something, pester someone else or some shit."

Izuku didn't really register his words.

The day continued, Izuku still learnt in classes despite not needing to-- after all he is dead-- but at times he did wonder how it was like to sit at the desk with his fellow classmates, laughing with others and playing around with each other. He had even wanted to talk to a girl-- just talk, nothing else-- and speak about shenanigans he and Katsuki would get up to.

Would he be accepted? He was quirkless when he was alive so would he still feel isolated like he was now.

Briefly, Izuku's eyes went to Katsuki subconsciously, if it wasn't for Katsuki's adventurous side, he'd still be alive and talking and playing and doing all sort of silly things a normal child would, but he didn't ever feel angry about Katsuki's adventurous side, Katsuki lived and Izuku was happy that he was alive.

At third period, the students were learning about chemistry, something Izuku wasn't greatly interested in but understood it nonetheless, he looked at Katsuki who was more than focused, glaring at the board like some sort of enemy had appeared behind the teacher and was taunting him childishly.

Izuku snorted softly, nodding his head at the corner of Katsuki's view and flew off, not wanting to accidentally set off the nuclear bomb. He fazed through the windows and flew away and soared through the sky.

'Going to UA huh,' thought Izuku staring at the blue of the sky-- Katsuki's words had finally registered inside his brain, 'no not again. I've already broken in once before.' He sighed but soon let out a huff of air in the cold at a small, and slightly sinister thought.

Izuku gave a tiny smile to himself and his geniuses, "technically, I'm already dead, so is it really breaking in?" He bit the bottom of his lip and gave another grin which was much wobbly, he still trembled and felt his body vibrate in anticipation much like the first time he had done so, but the tremors lessened after knowing his existence isn't going to affect the other students-- or pro heroes.

Izuku soared higher, over the multiple buildings and watched over the high plummet from his view on a cloud. He felt his breath hitch-- though this isn't needed for a ghost-- the view was spectacularly frightening and almost made his dead heart want to pound once more.

However, Izuku wasn't scared. He did not fear the height of where he flew or the tugging of the wind, each breeze commanded to torment Izuku, but nevertheless failed every time and did not frighten the teen. His mind was a greater force to be reckoned with, analyzing everyone -- and at times everything -- each with precision and accuracy when deciding how powerful or weak something is, this did include himself. Every point he picks out for himself seems to lead into more depressing thoughts and soon it spirals down to the core of his stomach and dissolved in the acidity of the liquid that quenched for more misery from Izuku, and he willingly fed fear more fear until he consumed himself and became fear.

He had never felt more alive at a place that could bring him death-- luckily he was already dead.

His steam train of thought halted at the sight of UA protruding proudly from the earth's surface. The splatters of stars on his face shifted as the corners of his mouth tilted upwards and the galaxy of his cheeks rose to a higher plane.

"Second time here and it's still attention grabbing," Izuku mumbled to himself, "as expected from the number one hero school." He felt himself fanboying at the thought, his paled cheeks felt flushed at the gorgeous view of the top hero school in Japan.

Hesitantly, he glided over whilst politely excusing himself for the sudden intrusion and fazed through the building in wonder. A classroom filled with students, varying in looks and size and personality.

The ghost teen went through the classroom and hovered through the walls, at times a few students before arriving at a large lounge. Inside was the principal, Nedzu- no one knew if he was a mouse, bear or rat though his intelligence pars with many humans in this world.

Beside him was a man, he seemed just as sickly as Izuku, bones from his wrists and ribs protruding rudely for attention, teeth clenched and a downward curl from the corners of his mouth. His eyes had circular aquamarine ring glowing in the darkness of the shadows in the dents of his eye sockets and his cheekbones hollowed through creating a shadowy cast over his jaw.

He spluttered out blood.

Izuku yelped.

"Ah, Yagi-san, have you been taking care of yourself?" Asked Nedzu with his paw extended to an empty couch politely, Yagi nodded, he turned his head to the left and wiped his blood onto the bend of his elbow.

"I have been doing my best." Yagi informed the mouse, taking the offered seat. The creature went over to the tray at the centre of the table and lifted a pastel yellow tea cup and matching pastel yellow saucer. He placed it in front of the sickly man. "Ah, thank you."

"It's quite fine," Nedzu went to another white saucer-- with cute paw prints of a bear-- and matching white cup--again paw printed-- at the tray and lifted it up. He went to his seat with a slight hop and took a sip calmly. "So Lemillion is your candidate so far."

"Yes," Yagi informed the prinicpal, "he has the power, strategy and willingness of a hero."

"Lemillion? Never heard of that hero? Or maybe he's a student, I heard they pick out hero names in their first year. But he could still be second or third year." Izuku rambled silently to himself.

"So you plan on choosing him, I must agree that he is indeed a great choice, Sir Nighteye introduced him correct?"

Yagi nodded.

Izuku choked once more, Sir Nighteye was quite a big deal. Being able to predict future scenes and alter them for a more likeable outcome, Izuku would die for a quirk like that-- though the phrase he'd die for something didn't really have any sense to him as he was already dead.

"When will you tell him then, I'm sure you've met the boy in both of your," Nedzu paused and turned his head to the side, almost to Izuku's direction, "sorry, I was sure I heard something. A ghost perhaps." He joked but Izuku almost jumped out of his skin-- metaphorically speaking.

"Ghosts?" Yagi tried to listen but despite Izuku's yelp of surprise, he couldn't hear anything, "I don't hear anything. A breach?"

"I doubt it. Maybe just animal superstitions? We tend to sense what's not there. But I don't see who could make it past all our defence-- silently at least." Answered Nedzu. "Though let us hold this conversation for another time."

Izuku quickly flew out of the room in panic and through the all the walls, doors and students until he finally reached the exit. From there he went down to the ground and hovered at a low level.

"Weird." Said Nedzu, soon after Izuku left. He placed down his cup on the saucer and jumped down to the floor. He walked to the window and watched the ground from above. "It's gone now, ever so timely too. I'll have to look into this anomaly."

"I shall take my leave then. Recovery Girl wishes to see me." Yagi shivered comically. "I don't believe it's for good measures."

"Well, I can't help you there. Though I can walk you there, alternatively, I can also wish you some luck perhaps?" Asked the small, albino bear. Yagi laughed and shook his head side to side.

"The visit can wait." Said Yagi. "I want to explore the area for a while, it had been quite a while since I've been here and the area is growing nicely." He stuck his thumb out and gave a large smile. Nedzu nodded at his enthusiasm-- or he thought it was but the gaunt man didn't have a smile on his face. "I have three hours to do some good deeds."

Mouse man sighed and shook his head, "not much we're able to do now. Apologies. I must deal with a mouse."

Yagi turned to mouth, having to double take on the sentence.

"Metaphorically, of course." He said bemused. "Come on now, I'll see you out."

Chapter 3

Chapter Text

Izuku flew further and further away from U.A. and went back to his grave in a hurry. It was always calming to go there whenever he felt bothered, and whenever Katsuki was too busy to deal with his nonsense. He took a sharp inhale despite no air actually entering his lungs, and exhaled, again nothing really left, he repeated the ritual over and over in demand that he calmed himself.

“No one can see me, no one can see me, no one can see me.” He said over and over again, his bony hand placed against the ghastly ribs. “No one can.”

Izuku laid on top of his grave, the only place where life failed to grow as no patches of grass were directly on top of his grave, only pure dirt. He watched the above from where he was. The clouds swam in the large blue lake of the sky and drifted across silently, ripples of whiteness spread widely and around each larger and more prominently white cloud.

“I’m alright now.” He told himself, feeling the anxiousness dissipate completely from his ever failing bodily system and floating away to become another thought that was a part of the clouds. He remembered the blonde man and his sickly figure, “I wonder who he was? He seemed close to the principal. An ex-hero?”

The curiosity nagged Izuku and he nibbled the bottom of his lips, nothing good ever came out of following heroes— since he had done so before and was left mildly horrified and disappointed — but he yearned for knowledge, the only thing he could ever get whilst dead, he can’t meet people, with the exception of Katsuki, he can’t write, he couldn’t do most things that the living could do, so knowledge was the only thing he had in his life, and company from one person, Katsuki Bakugou.

Izuku got up, hovering over his grave and casting a luminescent green shadow over his dead body, and walked away from the scene.

He wouldn’t physically hunt down the mysterious man to the ends of the earth, but if he does manage to catch him than he’ll see who the ex hero could’ve been.

Izuku left the gates of the graveyard.

-

Exploring Mustafu, Toshinori sneezes into his sleeves and looked around. “Someone’s talking about me.” He said jokingly to himself. He entered a convenience store and straight away he arrived at the drink section, large bottles of coke stood high in front of him and beckoned for him to buy it. He did so and quickly went to the cashier to by the items and avoid onlookers staring straight into his soul.

The area was pretty, Toshinori couldn’t lie about that, he does miss working in Roppongi, Minato Ward in Tokyo but he couldn’t exactly complain working here to look for a successor.

“That’d be 2044.02¥, sir.” The man at the counter told him, eyes purposely averting his own, not that he’d ever care about how he looked, the stares were nothing more than a part of his life.

He reaches into his pocket and the coils shuffle as they brush his fingertips. He jostles around before grabbing a few notes and coins and handing it to the man dismissively.

The cashier took the money, opening the register and putting in the notes and coins. He took out the change and handed it over to Yagi who bagged the items.

“Have a nice day sir.” Said the cashier with an anxious smile.

“You too young man.” Replied Toshinori politely. He grabbed the change and tossed the rest into his pocket haphazardly.

Toshinori exited the store and there he saw a cleared pathway and a sludge man walking through it with speed, out from his body cane a few notes that fell behind him in a trail.

“Ah! Look! There’s a villain!” / “Where’s the heroes?!” / “He looks strong!”

A variety of voices called out one after another. Toshinori tightened the grip on his bag and began to inflate in size. He took two steps forwards and into the sunny sky above.

“Have nothing to fear!” He yelled and all onlookers turned to his loud and boisterous voice in an instant. “Why? For I am here!”

His presence alone calmed the whole streets and all the remaining woebegone feelings had been swept away by the tides of serenity in his radiating, golden aura. He was the hope that the people were waiting for, he was the Symbol of Peace for the Japanese people, he was All Might.

His grip tightened around his shopping bags and he ran towards the villain immediately, speed picking up with every step he took forth and the sludge could only flow through down the holes of the sewage lid to get away from this powerful figure. He kissed his teeth disappointedly when he couldn’t grasp the slime and it escaped his grip.

“Oh shit.” He said in English.

-

Katsuki was walking home alone, usually he would have Izuku pester him consistently along the way but the boy wasn’t there when he waited at the gates for five minutes. He didn’t know exactly where he went or what he was doing but he knew that Izuku would come back. He always came back to him.

“Shitty Deku leaving me.” He gritted his teeth and snarled sadly to himself. “Waking me up early in the morning too. I need my fucking sleep to be too hero.”

Katsuki let out a frustrated sigh and continued on the longer route to his house, one that avoided the public since he really doesn’t want to deal with people right now. He stomped underneath the tunnel and held his bag on his back with his elbow bent to keep it locked into its position. He was three quarters of the way into the tunnel until he heard a splashing noise from above that landed on his shoulders.

He reached over his shoulder to wipe it off and was mildly surprised to see the liquid move from him with its own will.

“Ooh~ a medium sized cloak! Just perfect.” Growled the villain. “Sorry for the intrusion

“Like hell you shitty slime!” Yelled Katsuki, an explosion forming in the palm of his hand and in front of his face. “Over my dead body.”

The villain pause and smirked, “well! If you’re so insistent.” He said and charged towards Katsuki. Bakugou held his arm back and activated his quirk, allowing an explosion to hit the slimes body. The liquid congealed and became a semi solid, crumbling away and hitting the concrete floor below. “Psh! Kiddo, don’t worry, it will only be about 45 seconds of suffocation anyways! Don’t worry, you’ll always be my hero.”

Katsuki kisses his teeth and went to charge in again, not seeing the slime monster grip him from behind and causing him to trip. The slime took the opportunity to restrain the boy and force himself inside the mouth. Katsuki twitched and thrashed violently, using his quirk every once in a while to see his control.

“—uck—ff.” Katsuki swore though it came out as blabbering.

“That isn’t a nice thing to say Mr. Hero.” The villain grimaced. He wrapped his body around the boy tighter in hopes of restraining him— which he succeeded to do— and forced his way through the lungs.

Izuku blinked looking at the end of the tunnel, there was Katsuki engulfed in a slimy body, his hands twitching and his body slowly loosing a lot of movement from the lack of oxygen.

“K-KACCHAN!” He screeched and ran to the body, his hands tried to grip the slime but it never reached, his hands constantly phased through despite his effort. “I’ll h-help you alright! Co-come on!” He yelled as he continued to claw away but it failed every time.

The villain moved the fluids of his body to Katsuki’s mouth rather than his eyes and there Izuku could see his friend’s eyes in the dark tunnel. The raging red became roaring cry for help.

Izuku remembered those eyes when they were children, when the car came towards Katsuki and how his feet were planted into the onto the ground tightly.

Izuku screeched and went forth to his friend, phasing into the villain and hugging his body tightly to his own, Katsuki couldn’t die, he knew death isn’t the funnest of experience and Katsuki was meant to be the number one hero of Japan.

A luminous green glow overwhelmed the vicinity, covering the walls, floors and the villain in front of him. Izuku continued to keep his eyes shut protectively as he held Katsuki in his grip with all that he had. The villain seemed to have paused in his spot and Katsuki only watched in awe as the events unfolded in front of him, mouth agape in shock.

“Deku, what the fuck?” He whispered under his breath.

“I shall deal with the rest young children!” Yelled a voice at the end of the tunnel. “For I am he—!”

He stopped to see the sludge villain frozen in his spot and unmoving, Katsuki was embraced by a green haired boy— though the boy looked very sickly in All Might’s opinion. He saw the glow slowly dissipate and took the opportunity to bottle up the slime monster and place the bad guy into custody.

“Young boys! Are you alright?” Asked All Might looming over the children.

Izuku opened one eye and saw All Might standing in front of him, he felt his nonexistent heart burst in his chest, but thank goodness he was already dead or the blinding smile of his favourite hero would’ve done so.

“Kacchan! It’s All Might! He’s talking to you! Say something! Quickly!” Izuku spluttered whilst swinging Katsuki around. “He saved you!”

“Stupid Deku, didn’t you see that you save—“ he stopped and turned to All Might, “wait, can you see that?”

“Kacchan! I’m not that. He can’t see me anyways, he said young boys not young—“ Izuku snapped his head around to see All Might watching him confused, he waved a hand in front of his face and was surprised to get a reaction from the man. “H-He sees m-me! K-Kacchan! I-I-I can’t— he’s ta-talking! T-t-to me! M-me!” The boy stuttered out with speed.

“Is there a reason why I shouldn’t?” All Might asked, curiously looking over the boy, “I commend your bravery,” he changed the subject seeing that the boys found it a sensitive subject, “but try not to use your quirk in public, and wait for a hero to come.”

Izuku’s smile fell.

“I-I’m sorry, All Might— erm— sir, but I couldn’t leave him there, I won’t use m-my quirk again i-in public,” he collected himself, taking a breath in and closing his eyes tightly. He opened his eyes,
“but had I waited any longer, he would’ve died through suffocation, not the ideal way to die in all honesty,” Izuku grimaced, “a-and it wasn’t even through my own will, m-my legs just moved on its own, really. I was just thinking about saving him.”

All Might’s eyes widened as he looked at the younger boy below him, “Is that so, what is your name?”

“M-Midoriya! Midoriya Izuku!” Yelled Izuku happily, “a-and this is my best friend Kacchan! H-He’s going to b-be a great hero.”

“Damn right I am, Deku!” Katsuki encored. “But I still need to beat the likes of you.” Katsuki kisses his teeth and walked off. Izuku shook his head side to side with a soft smile on his face.

“D-Do you think you c-can give that boy an autograph, h-he really admires you! I-I mean, so do I-I but he wants to be a hero too.” Izuku said to the hero.

“Don’t you want to be a hero young man?” Asked All Might looking down at the boy.

“Of course!” He yelled determinedly. “A hero who’s presence alone can calm the universe itself! A smile with no fear! I wanna be the hero that everyone needs, not wants.”

All Might ruffled the kids hair, ‘yes, he’s the one.’ He thought with glee. ‘The one worthy to be my successor.’

“Young Midoriya, I hope that we do meet again! Your heroism is admirable.” Said All Might, his form slowly forcing itself to wither away, he gritted his teeth and decided to use the opportunity to say his goodbyes, “you can give young Kacchan this autograph, but I shall take my leave!”

He handed Izuku the autograph and flew away quickly.

“KACCHAN! ALL MIGHT CALLED ME ADMIRABLE!” Izuku flew to Katsuki with a wobbly grin on his face.

“Shut it, I could hear your screams from a mile away.” Said Katsuki. “Aren’t you weirded out anyways, Deku? For the first time you activated your quirk and then all of a sudden All Might can see you.”

“I-I guess I am feeling weirded out by it,” he thought, “I mean— it’s not something I can register straight away if you know what I mean.” He dismissed. “Oh yeah! Here’s All Might’s autograph! I got it for you.”

He handed over the object before feeling it phase through his body. It slipped through him completely and hit the ground.

“So it’s temporary, huh?” Izuku said aloud. “I guess I can test things out tomorrow and see if I can activate it again. How weird.” Izuku said.

“Deku, you’re too unfazed by this.”

“I’m a ghost, I’ve already gotten used to fazing.” Izuku replied dismissively.

“Was that a fucking pun?”

“Of course not Kacchan, that would’ve been such a ghastly thing to do.”

“Shut up.”

“B-but Kacchan, I don’t mean to spook you out or anything.” Izuku held back a smile.

“Go get a fucking life, you shitty Deku.”

“But Kacchan! I’m dead.” Laughed Izuku as he floated above Katsuki with a smile on his face.

“You’re dead to me if you don’t stop.” Katsuki retorted.

“I literally would have no body then.” Katsuki tried to throw a punch at Izuku, “h-hey! That was an accident.”

*I accidentally changed the past tense to present tenses, I honestly didn’t realise until I got to 2000 words so, there’s a lot of weirdnesses :(( I need to go back and edit the other two chapters but I’ll probably complete it on friday((???))

Though the plot is still the same so don’t worry!*

Chapter Text

Ten months in and All Might still couldn’t find the boy who was worthy of being his successor. He asks around (in his frailer form to avoid media attention) but no one really seemed to know of the existence of the green haired, green eyed and freckled teenager.

Izuku Midoriya.

Schools and locals both didn’t seem to know of his name at all.

He didn’t want to waste time, not with the entrance exam coming up and the boy being barely trained. He remembers the frailty of the child, almost like a delicate skim of his own skinny fingers can cause the child to collapse under his own dead weight. He wasn’t sure if it was the work of a quirk or if it was the work of something else.

He prayes it isn’t the latter.

“Though I could get him to transfer from the Gen Ed department to the Heroics at the sports festival, can’t exactly train him in one day.” He sighs and reaches for his cup of soda to drown down his woes. “I’m sure one person should’ve heard of him, but nothing huh?”

He remembers meeting the green haired boy’s friend —Kacchan if his memory serves him correct— and he didn’t seem to be please at the mentioning of Izuku at all, Toshinori kept his lips tightened whilst the boy yelled at the Toshinori for a while before running off.

The situation was a confusing one. He didn’t expect the find to be so complicated as it had been, he couldn’t go into any old police station and ask for details, even if he was the Symbol of peace. The paperwork behind it will be hard to explain without going into the depths of One For All and the inheritance of it.

He looks towards the U.A building at the piling mess of what was once Dagobah Beach and exhaled exhaustedly. He decides that it was probably time to meet up with Sir Nighteye later onwards and meet the boy he kept talking about— Mirio Togata— or Lemillion in his hero name.

Toshinori sighs and allows a little trickle of blood trail down to his chin. He didn’t necessary dislike the other teen but he hadn’t seen enough to judge, this ‘Izuku Midoriya’ however knew what he was saying and doing, no hesitation and his eyes glinted with determination. Toshinori’s breath hitches at the mini reminiscing of the memory, he trembles from the core of his chest and the waves soon spreader through his whole body.

“Oh my— oh my goodness!” Toshinori expands in size and wiped the blood with his arm. He was now All Might, a smile on his face and hands by the side of his hips.

“I should give Naomasa a call, maybe he can help.” He mumbles underneath his breath, kneeling back and jumping high up into the air. He wonders when he will see Izuku again, and he wonders what other UA students will have in store for him.

Katsuki kicks the rock adjacent to where he stood and his eyes wonders to the freckles boy by his side. His raging red eyes calms a little to a frailer flame, still flickering with the remaining bottle up anger. He glares into the green eyes of the teen.

Abruptly, he turns on his heels and stopped in his track immediately, the wind tremors halts immediately and the sun dims in submission to Katsuki’s towering stature, Izuku hesitantly smiled and hovered lower than usual.

“I’m going to be the fucking best, no one’s getting in my way, especially you, Deku.” He informs with seriousness, his lips folds inwards and he nibbled on the bottom lip, saliva moisturising the crack and crevices with its fluidity and filling it. “I’m going to be number one and not even All Might can turn his head away!” Katsuki declares proudly with his finger pointing to Izuku, skimming the edge and almost phasing through from the closeness.

Izuku listens to Katsuki’s words, he hadn’t really planned on bothering the teen as he fought in the entrance exam, as much as he was curious and as much as he wanted to cheer for his friend with all that was left of his diaphragm, he didn’t know what he would do if Katsuki lost— or even injured himself— because Izuku was being selfish.

“O-Of course Kacchan! I wanted to explore anyways! There are so many quirks here!” Izuku turns his head around with speed and Katsuki snickered at the teen though the snorts of laughter quickly stopped when Izuku turned back over.

“Whatever.” His kisses his teeth. “I’ll see you, don’t cause any trouble or whatever.”

Izuku salutes and smiles. His teeth bares and his eyes closes tightly. “I-I won’t I swear! I’m g-going to look around! O-Or figure out how to form again.”

Izuku sighs at the words leaving his own mouth, he had tried for the past four months to activate the power he once held, Katsuki even tries to help by putting himself in slightly risky position, but when his revision for the UA exams come up he couldn’t help Izuku anymore and Izuku didn’t want to distract Katsuki so he stops— though he did hypothesise that this new power could’ve been the work of intense stress and thus he is unable to activate it since he couldn’t really feel stressed as a ghost— sure he could worry for Katsuki but it isn’t really right to compare the feelings of anxious about his test to a life threatening situation.

Katsuki nodded understandably and walked ahead of Izuku with his back hunched and feet dragging across the concrete of the floor, he entered through the gates of UA with the other students and treaded forth to his dream.

Izuku grins, it comes out wobbly but it has always been so as he waves at Katsuki back. When his friend left his peripheral vision, he hovers lower to what he was use to and went through the gates of UA— the feeling of his feet barely phasing through the ground left his knees feeling knobbly (though there wasn’t a feeling) as he walks beside the mob of strangers at his side.

A girl came by his side, walking round about the same speed as his own. He can hear the scuffling of her own shoes and can’t help but feel a tad bit jealous, however it doesn’t show on his face and he gives the girl by his side a smile.

Her hair was brown, cut short into a bob hairstyle, her face was perfectly curved and round with her cheeks pink as well as the tip of her nose. Lips cracked and teeth chattering from the wind which picks up in intensity and gently pushed her aside. Her hand was gloved up and completely covered from the tip to the wrist, but the top half of her glove seemed have a little hatch that was closed off with a button and a loop of closed of string.

“O-Oh hi there, I-I’m Midoriya Izuku! And y-you are?” Izuku asked but no answer was given sadly. He isn’t disheartened and continues to ‘converse’ with the girl (which is just him rambling and the girl staring at the looming building of UA). “I heard that the UA opening exam is pretty hard, the physical and written one.”

The female takes a left turn and leaves Izuku standing alone in the hallway that led to the auditorium. Izuku waves politely at her direction and smirks.

“I hope to see you again miss.” He says nicely. It was always like this, if he wasn’t soaring high into the clouds he would definitely be walking and talking like it was the norm, though he knows that if it came to real life talks then things would be a little different and he would be babbling a lot more than necessary.

He turns around to see a whole group come to him, eyes completely missing his own and passing through his form. Izuku quickly flys high and avoids the mount of people storming through— the phasing feeling was bad enough through inanimate objects, but he had gotten use to it.

Like water, people enter through he door and disperse throughout the entire auditorium, each seat filling up as the time passes, the cold seat warmed and soon enough the room filled to the rim with a giant flock of people. Izuku watches as it happens, the different mutation which differentiates them from one another, some are black, white, pink, some are even rainbow or practically clear. There are those who are small enough to be squished and some who look like they can do the squashing themselves. The rest seem as average as what average can be.

“Heya everyone! Welcome to my live show! Can I get a hey?!” Yells out Present Mic from his place in the stage, the mic stood in front of him uselessly as he belts a loud amount of sound from the depths of his diaphragm. The energetic man who was once bursting with energy cringed into a little ball when silence followed his shouts of encouragement. He shakes as he continues to speak into the microphone. “A-Anyways! Pay close attention, listeners! We’ll test you mettle with a ten minute practice run at our replica city district! Make sure to gather ‘round your meeting places after this presentation, ya get it?!” He shouts unnecessary but everyone nods in response.

“I guess we’re in different battle centres huh, Mikumo.” Izuku hears a passing voice and eyes widened.

“S-so the point is for independent work, or is it the ability to work with other peers with limited informations about one another?” Izuku places his ghostly hand onto his chin and hovers higher to the ceiling.

“Excuse me!” Izuku turns his face from the ceiling and flips over to face downwards, he sees a boy with blue hair, flattened down to the side to cover his forehead with bangs, square jaw and square eyes hidden underneath his glasses. Izuku interestedly flys in closer to the teenager. “You said three robots each with different points and varying looks but on the handout there are clearly four different types of robots. Is this a mistake made on the behalf of UA? If so, then this raises a few worries about what other mistake you may make in our venture here as heroes.” The boy finishes his sentences and sits back down in his seat. Izuku’s eyes brightens up like Christmas lights, the confidence and the authority the boy held was intense but amazing.

“Thank you examinee 7111 for that observation! The forth type of robot is a trap, a gimmick if you like to say. You know Super Mario Brothers, and those Thwomps that attack you but you don’t attack as it’s pretty much useless, it’s kinda like that! The forth robot scores you no points at all!” Present Mic poses as he screams to the crowd of students. “Now! Let us move on to the main event, Plus Ultra!”

Izuku wonders over to Katsuki’s and nods at his direction in a slow manner, Katsuki recognised him and copied with his own small nod as he heads towards his battle centre. Izuku’s sees an exhaust pipe sticking out of someone’s leg and his curiosity peaks, it was the same confident boy at the auditorium heading to a different battle centre to Katsuki. Izuku vibrates excitedly and glides over to the blue haired teen with his hands on his cheeks to calm him down from the excitement in the pit of his stomach.

“That looks like Ingenium’s quirk, is that a relative?! S-so cool!” He mumbles aloud. “I guess I can watch him for a while.”

Izuku attention is caught by the girl whom he was ‘speaking’ with earlier, she seems a lot more nervous than before but determination shone brightly in her eyes, different from Katsuki’s own eyes but the aura of never-giving-up still matches his, as it did with everyone else. They wanted to be a hero, for fame, money, righteousness, love and other varying reasons all specific to their own— such a shame Izuku isn’t a part of it.

He shakes his head, ‘now isn’t the time to be fretting!’ He almost feels himself drooling over the many quirks he can analyse, ‘such a shame I don’t have a notebook...’ he thinks to himself sadly and almost deflated comically as a ghost.

“Now go!” Present Mic squeals and everyone stands shocked at the sudden demand from the pro hero, they’re unmoving, including Izuku himself who feels a lot more flustered than the rest. “What? Do you really think that there’s a count down on the battlefield! Go on now!” He screams this time and everyone lunges forward, excluding Izuku who still didn’t seem to have a whole grasp on the situation anyways.

‘Oh right!’ He collects himself and calms down, ‘now to find little Ingenium.’

He starts of with soaring high into the air, head spinning fast with every sharp turn his neck took and vision blurring from the speed that his eyes travels. There he sees the kid he’s been wanting to analyse, running extremely fast and legs coming down at he robot with enough force to break it completely and by the time he was done with one robot he went to the next immediately without any sort of hesitation in his eyes. Izuku comes in closer not enough for the teen to accidentally pass through him but not far enough to not see the functioning of his quirk.

He hovers closely and makes sure to capture every detail with his eyes, the form he had when kicking, the amount of power put into his kicks and his running speed and the kinds of breaks he had after a certain period of time.

“Oh, so he can sprint fast but there is a limit after all, there are times where his breaks are longer when he goes faster, is it cause the engines of his legs can’t handle the fastest speed for the longest distance, the pressure of the kicks must be strong with the addition of the thrusters at his back leg penetrating it, amazing indeed!” Izuku mumbles on, he claps his hands together and smiles in awe, “that’s one amazing quirk!”

His eyes traces to a sudden spark at the corner of his vision and soon enough he went there as quick as possible, there another student with blonde hair with split bangs and a curvy tip, his eyes were bright blue and dazzling and with every shot that came out of his navel it quickly pummels the oncoming robot though he only does it for a certain amount of seconds, three or four roughly, and whence exceeding his limit he doubles over and clenches his stomach tightly, arms covering it and legs in squatting position.

“Dazzling if I say so!” Navel Boy compliments himself with his hair flipping back gracefully and whilst Izuku wants to face palm he just watches in awe cause the boy isn’t technically wrong about how dazzling he is.

“Oh yeah! That girl! I wonder what her quirk is? She didn’t seem to have any additional characteristics so maybe not mutation, though she was wearing gloves so maybe it’s her hands? Or maybe it’s cold, I’m not sure.” He pauses to look at his own bony hands but snaps himself out of a trance when he hears a large robot growing from the ground in the distance, his eyes comes out of his skull and bulges at the sight of the extremely large robot, too large for Izuku’s liking. “W-woah.” He says to himself, now this is something he really wants to see, “I knew UA was rich, but this just has to be a joke, and a zero pointer nonetheless.”

Izuku flys in closer, looking around the robot and placing a hand on his chin, the robot was still tall and even with Izuku high enough in the sky it still manages to win in height and Izuku doesn’t really know how to feel.

“Ah! Help!” He hears and he looks down to see the girl from before, her legs trapped underneath the rubble from a broken building— thanks to the robot— and the giant hunk of metal was coming close to her with every giant step.

Izuku gulps.

He gently lands by her and looks up to the robot. ‘I’m sure the teachers will come save her, t-they wouldn’t kill a s-student.’

No heroes comes.

The metal hunk takes a step closer.

“Y-yeah, killing her would bring rage world wide..” Izuku tries to convince himself.

No heroes around.

It takes another step forward.

“A-And a giant robot! Squishing her flat! They aren’t THAT crazy. UA m-may be intense but this is insane.”

No heroes to be heard.

The robot comes closer.

“A-and I-I can’t—“ he stops himself, for some reason a faint memory of his death comes closer in his mind, but he doesn’t see himself being hit, but the girl and soon enough Izuku takes a step up. “I-I want to—“

No heroes in the premises.

The robot was one step away.

“I-I want to save her! I want to be a hero!” He screams and soon enough he lifts up his hands, placing one on top of the other, palms facing outwards to the robots. His eyes didn’t shut tightly like it had done with Katsuki, it was wide but hesitant, he stood tall but his leg wobbles with the intensity of the shakes.

He needs to think quick, he doesn’t want the robot to explode like the sludge villain, more casualties are likely with falling heaps of metal chunks falling from the sky. He needs to keep the damage to a minimal and the only way that’s possible— whilst stopping the robot— is to disintegrate it completely.

There are no heroes.

One more step and the robot places it foot down to the ground.

Izuku is enveloped into a green light along with the girl behind him, the robot seems to still be going. “Disintegrate!” He yells at the spur of the moment and the girl behind him looks up in awe and bafflement.

The robot glows, bright green and coated with a luminous, viridescent glow. Soon enough the whole body is coloured and Izuku watches as the metal pieces carve inwards, slowly going in on itself until it had turned into a ball, it continues to do so and soon enough it gets so small that it turns into dust and the remnants sparkles over the two.

Toshinori’s eyes widen as he watches the footage, some of the other teachers also seem to be taken aback by the sudden appearance of the boy, he shrinks in his form, seeing as the girl is fine but he feels happy and joyous.

He had finally found his successor.

Toshinori hadn’t remembered seeing him throughout the course of the battle and is suddenly having doubts. He knows that if and when he saw the boy it would be easy to find him from what he has of the teen buried into the depths of his mind and yet the child didn’t appear at all on his radar, not even the mentioning of his quirk. This brought about a lot of red flags for Toshinori.

“Where are his papers?” Asks Toshinori turning to the mouse (or bear he wasn’t sure) in front of him.

Nedzu put a paw to his scalp and itched the luscious fur with delicacy. “Huh, I don’t recall seeing his papers, do you happen to know a name or number?”

“Midoriya Izuku, last name, first name.” Toshinori answers immediately.

Nedzu searches up the name on a separate device, “M, I, D, oh.” Nedzu stops, “there isn’t a Midoriya on my system it seems. Eraserhead.” He states and the hero nods leaving the room.

Toshinori inflates, “I’ve been needing to speak with him, I can not afford to lose him again.” He says and leaves right behind Eraserhead in his gargantuan form.

“It seems two students have been injured, one is Uraraka Ochako due to injuries in her legs it seems and the other is Bakugou Katsuki, unclear why he’s unconscious though we believe it may be quirk exhaustion.” Says Midnight shuffling in her seat and twisting the end of her whip playfully, “Recovery Girl is heading to the injured girl, I’ll take Bakugou to the recovery room if he isn’t brutally injured.” She informs them getting him, “I guess the nurse has already left.”

Izuku drops to the ground, surprised that his energy hadn’t been drained and happy that girl had survived.

“Times up!” He hears and giggles to himself.

“I-I did it.” He mutters, cheeks flushing red and hands blue from the cold, he liked the feeling of the air in his hair. “I-I actually did it.”

“Are you alright?!” A yell comes and Izuku turns his head to the boy he was analysing, he snaps out of his daze and scuttles over to the girl.

“R-right! I forgot! Your legs, it’s silk crushed.” Izuku looks to the speedy boy, “can you lift it! Or kick it! Enough force to crack it, at the side rather than downwards please.”

The boy listens and quickly executes the instructions given to him, he kicks the rock with enough speed to crack it into smaller pieces and Izuku lifts the smaller rubble aside to free her from the pain.

“I’m sorry, I-I forgot you w-were stuck a-an-a-and I just—“ Izuku was interrupted by the girl.

“It’s fine! Honestly! Thank you so much!” She beams but her face was still scrunched up in pain. Other students approach the scene and look painfully at the girl’s distorted legs.

“Woah, did that kiddo there do this?!” One whispers.

Another silently speaks, “amazing!”

“I-I don’t remember seeing him in the beginning though.” One more adds into the mix.

“Yeah, I didn’t.”

“Move aside! Move aside!” An elderly lady comes in, she has a stick in one hand and a her hand resting on her back, she was wearing a lab coat and her hair was neatly tied back into a bun. “Let me come through.”

She looks down at the girl in pain, “gosh, this schools going to be the death of me, and other students.” Her lips extends and presses itself against the forehead of the now unconscious girl.

“Who’s that?” A student whispers.

“Recovery Girl, she’s the reason why UA can go all out in their entrance exams.” Navel Boy and Izuku says in sync.

“Alright all of you! Let’s get moving, go back to the entrance!” She snaps and Izuku nods and follows the other student out of the exit.

“I must say, your actions was one that truly resembles a hero! I honestly didn’t see it at first but now I have been cleared of my blindness.” The Engine legged boy says.

Izuku smiles, “i-it was nothing, I-I just didn’t want someone dying when I know I could’ve prevented it.” He answers the teenager.

“Oi! You! Green hair!” Izuku hears a shout and turns to see the pro hero Eraserhead nearing him, Izuku gulps and feels a lot more jittery than usual. His scarf flew up into the air and his eyes changed in colour. Izuku assumes that from his angry expression (or neutral? He wasn’t sure) the man was planning on getting him, he has seen the pro hero a few time in his life, not that he can avoid it, there’s nothing to do at night and he just happens to witness this amazing hero.

Izuku’s breath hitches and he finds himself anxiously scrambling away from the man who was now chasing him at full speed, soon enough he was sprinting as fast as his legs can carry him, one after the other in a hurry to get anywhere away from the man.

‘Can I even fly like this?’ He thinks to himself and tries by jumping up into the air, luckily he succeeds and is flying away from the hero. ‘I ran from a pro hero.’ Izuku’s face pales and all colour pours down from his eyes into a dull green.

“Kacchan is going to never let me live this down.” He huffs, “how do I even tell him, ‘Oh heya, Kacchan nice day right? By the way, I was more or less running away from pro heroes after infiltrating UA’s entrance exams, and my form lasted longer than usual—‘.” Izuku stops himself halfway, “my form lasted longer.” He repeats.

His head snaps around to UA, seeing a blue of peach and yellow come at his direction and immediately he swerves to the left whilst the blue continues forth to the sky, it turns and stops halfway through and Izuku could only pale at the sight of the blur as it turns clear.

It was All Might.

‘A-All Might?! Why is he here?” He thinks to himself, he flys further and watches as the Symbol of Peace chase after his tail with speeds as fast as his own. He didn’t want to run exactly, but he also didn’t want to stay to find out what will happen to him.

“Young Midoriya! Please wait up! I mean no harm to you!” All Might declares, “I know of your true intentions and we just wish to question you.” He says.

Izuku gulps and wishes that he was invisible like before. Soon the hero stops in his tracks, looking around and itching his head.

“H-Huh?” He utters whilst looking around at the empty sky. “I was so sure I was hot on his tail.” He lands nearby on the roof and Izuku lets out a huff of what seems to be relief.

“This is crazy.” Izuku sighs and smacks his forehead tiredly. “I— I don’t even know.” He mutters itching his head.

Izuku feels like he’s disappearing.

Chapter 5

Chapter Text

Izuku feels like he’s disappearing.

He doesn’t understand the feeling but it was there in the pit of his chest, it was tiring him out and he doesn’t have a clue as to why. He blinks heavily and shakes his head side to side, smacking both sides of his cheek and listening to the smacks which were produced.

“O-Oh I can’t stay here, I-I need Kacchan. Is he done yet? Or is he injured, I-I —“ he turned round and sighed, “I don’t think I’ll be going back for a while.” He shivers and wraps his arm around his torso. He tries to fly further from the scene and finds all his energy draining with every metre he takes away from UA.

“Makes sense.” He yawns to no one in particular, “energy is a part of life, I cannot just use that much energy with out repercussions. I-I guess I can take a small nap.” He convinces himself and shuts his eyes tightly, floating in the air mindlessly.

Tiny viridescent particles of dust travel forth to Izuku, completely eroding him from the feet down until the very ends of his curly hair. Finally, his form has completely been erased from existence and the green particles dissipate from the air.

All Might blinks at the sight of the random usage of the quirk— he assumes it’s a quirk at least— and sighs disappointedly, he wasn’t expecting the kid to be so fast or to run away from him, they couldn’t help but be curious of who he was.

“Toshinori, as much as I want to catch this student, I cannot allow you to leave the school site. Don’t forget, there are also the General Education Department we need to spectate respectfully.” All Might presses the earpiece into his ear and lets out a wistful hum from his throat. Nedzu was going to give him a good scolding, if not then Recovery Girl would be more than willing to do so. He stretches and begins to fly away.

Katsuki opens his eyes and gets up abruptly, surprised to find himself inside a hospital— or an infirmary since it was a heck lot smaller than an actual hospital. He is twice as surprised when Deku isn’t at his side worried and panicking which was a new experience for him to say the least.

“Oh, you woke up earlier than I thought, most people with quirk exhaustion are out for an hour, and it’s barely been fifteen minutes.” Recovery Girl snaps Katsuki out of his daze, holding out a piece of candy to hand over to the boy, “here have some candy.”

Gobsmacked, Katsuki reels back the hand which was now full of candy and holds it closer to him. One piece of candy, an arrangement of colours and he ends up picking the mint one and plopping it into his mouth, he realises his certain set of actions and shakes his head vigorously before opening his mouth.

“What the fuck?” He swears aloud which got him a light hit at the back of his head from a walking stick.

The nurse shook her head and tutted at the bedridden boy, “Not in my infirmary you don’t.”

He holds the back of his head painfully and glares at the smaller woman who ignored him completely and walks over to a girl on the other side of the bed.

“And how are you dearie? Your legs were really mangled then and it must’ve been a lot of energy.” Recovery Girl asks and the girl on the bed becomes flustered from the kind nurse by her side.

“Oh! No, I’m fine thank you very much, just very tired.” She admits and the nurse sends of a small nod at her. “B-But—“

“What is it, Uraraka-san?” The nurse turns her head away from her to look inside the drawers of her desk, trying to refill her pockets with candy.

“D-Do you know where the green haired boy is?” She asks and Katsuki lifts his head up— it couldn’t be Deku, he refuses to believe so, “you know, plain faced, freckled, curly hair and green eyes.”

‘So it is the fucktard.’ Katsuki grimaces.

“Oh, the boy you saved you,” said Recovery Girl dryly, “I’m not too sure, usually the kids go straight home after collecting their kits.”

Uraraka shrivels up disappointedly and deflated completely like a balloon.

“Did he do something then?” Katsuki holds back on the swearing for a while, at least until he gets satisfactory information.

“What makes you think that?” Recovery Girl’s eyes glints.

“You said ‘usually’, odd term choice. Meaning Deku did something stupid.” Katsuki growls and the lady is now slightly intrigued.

“You know the boy?”

“Why else would I care?!” His voice is raised but he still holds back on the swearing— he wasn’t the type to deny someone’s existence, what was the point in that?

“I cannot reveal much but he wasn’t meant to take the exam. Or at least he didn’t sign up to UA to take the exams.” Recovery Girl sighs and places a hand on her cheek. “We’re looking into him now, you said you knew him, huh? I might have to keep you back for a while, you too Uraraka-san, just a few questions from Aizawa-san and that’ll be all.”

“I’m fine with that!” Uraraka waves her hands around and grins widely, “I-I just really wanted to thank him, Deku right? He saved me, I-I don’t know his circumstances but I’m sure it isn’t that bad or with ill-intent.”

Katsuki shifts his eyes to the girl at the bed, “what did he do?”

“H-He used his awesome quirk on that 0-pointer,” Katsuki eyes widen, “it completely erased that robot into nothing!” She expands the fingers of her hand to recreate the scene, “and then there’s tiny dust sprinkled around the scene of the remains! It was like a magic show.” She sighs, “I really wanted to thank him personally, y-you knew him right? Do you know what school he goes to, or like places he hangs out?”

Katsuki scoffs, “he doesn’t go to school and he’s always following me anyways.”

“Then could I have his number?” Ochako asks, “or his line maybe so we can meet up.”

“He doesn’t have a phone, and I fucking doubt he’d meet with you round-face.” Katsuki retorts and Uraraka is immediately offended by it.

Before she can yell back at him the door slides open and in walks in a Detective with black hair and a tanned trench coat and black trousers along with plain black suit, on his head was a fedora which was pulled in front of his eyes by his hand.

“Lively in here, things don’t ever seem to change in here.” He laughs lightly and pulls the hat from his eyes to see his surroundings.

Recovery Girl sighs, “not with the blonde dimwit it doesn’t.” The Detective seemed to know who she was talking about and smiled. “I assume you’re here for both of them?”

“Both?”

“Bakugou-san knows about Izuku, thought I’d stop him for when someone comes over to investigate. Didn’t think it be you though, anyways, as much as I would like to say take your time, these two are still patients and need attention.”

“I know, I won’t be long. Just a few questions is all.” Naomasa smiles and approaches Uraraka first. “So you must be Uraraka-san. I’m Detective Tsukauchi, my quirk allows me to see whether or not someone is telling the truth, I shall be activating it and using it throughout the course of the questioning.”

Ochako nods without reluctance, “such a useful quirk to be used in the police force.”

Tsukauchi chuckles, “Yeah, it is quite useful. So may I ask for your age?”

“15.”

“Tell me what had happened.” He asks vaguely but Ochako seem to have gotten the memo.

“Right, we were collecting points by destroying robots, I went deep into the city to find anymore cause I was scared I didn’t have enough. Out of nowhere a robot comes and knocks down the surrounding buildings which led to the rubble crushing my legs. I thought I was dead and then Deku came! He held both hands in front of him and yells ‘disintegrate!’, the robot just carves in until it got so small that sparkles were produced!” She yells enthusiastically.

“Deku?”

“That’s his name? Is it not?” Uraraka tilts her head to the side.

“His name is Midoriya Izuku from what I’ve investigated. Could you describe the boy?” He asks and she complies.

“He’s like 160-170cm, he has curly green hair and green eyes, on his face he has freckles and it’s quite plain to be honest. He had this kinda kiddish clothing on him, don’t remember exactly what it was since the adrenaline and all blurred most of my vision going down.”

“That’s fine, I thank you for the information you’ve provided.” Naomasa tips his hat and walks towards Katsuki, “Now could you tell me how you know Izuku?”

“That shit stain said he wanted to be a fucking hero, he can’t and I’m helping him.” Katsuki yells.

“Why can’t he be a hero?”

“He messes the fuck up as a child as now I have to help him cause he’s too stupid to do so himself.” Katsuki informs.

“Could you tell me what happened?” Tsukauchi asks and Katsuki can’t help but seem irritated.

“If you were investigating, you’d know the fuck why. He’s dead, he died fricken years ago.” He retorts and immediately Recovery Girl and Uraraka raises a brow.

“He can’t be dead? How did he help me? Or speak to me?” She asks.

“I didn’t know he could do that shit until just ten months ago.” Katsuki yells back at the detective, he Detective seemed to have gotten what he had wanted as his eyes glinted.

“That’s when you met All Might correct, the incident was reported before and we did a little searching, took quite a long time to find him.” Tsukauchi answers, ”do you know about his quirk.”

“Damn turd could only explode things, fly and become visible from that day, and now I find he can also cause things to implode, talk about O-fucking-P.” Katsuki yells rudely.

“You have a lot of energy for a person who’s meant to have symptoms of quirk exhaustion.” Recovery Girl points out. “And stop swearing, you may be a patient but if you have energy to yell you have energy to take a hit.” She threatens and Katsuki kisses his teeth.

“Whatever.”

“You can see Izuku correct? In his ‘invisible’ form?” Tsukauchi says, talking off his hat and placing it on his lap as he sat on a nearby stool.

“Sure, if that’s what you want to call it.” Katsuki retorts.

“Is he here?”

“No.” He says oddly agitated. “He isn’t.”

“Can you call him?”

“I can’t call him. He comes whenever he needs to... Oi! Round-face, he destroyed the whole robot?”

“Y-Yeah!”

“He’s probably having his stupid panic attacks on how he has a quirk so powerful, he’s usually like that.”

“‘Usually’ odd term choice isn’t it.” Recovery Girl says and Katsuki felt irritated as his own words were spat out back at him. “Reason?”

“He’s always around me. Most of the times, I told him to stay away from me so I can focus and yet I... I—“

Uraraka decides to chime in with her opinion, “You’re worried about him am I right?”

“Why would I be worried about a shitty need like himself?! He can’t even fucking use his quirk at times and he’s following me like a lost puppy! Like hell I’d be fucking anxious because of his shitty self.” Katsuki yells immediately, throwing a mild tantrum but his face is slightly flustered.

‘I’ll fucking kill him if he dares to ditch me.’ Thought Katsuki clenching his fist tightly.

“Well, please call us when you get ahold of Izuku, if he is dead but it’s a part of his quirk, we’d have to tell his mother, update the registry to say that he’s alive but obviously not in a physical state.” Tsukauchi sighs and lifts his fedora up to his head. “Thank you for your help and I’d hope to see you later onwards.”

Katsuki kisses his teeth. His body oddly revived and filled with oncoming entry. He turns his head to look out the window and on the sill was a faint glow of green powder spaced across both corners of the flat surface and in the cracks of the window where it supposedly opens.

Katsuki curiously reaches out to touch it and brushes the dust with the tip of his fingers and watch as it gets taken in by the pores of his skin readily. He reels back his hands and looks at the tips of his fingers, rubbing his thumb against the index finger and middle finger to feel any grit.

It was smooth.

Chapter Text

Ochako’s mind drifted for an eternity after the exam and the revelation that Deku, the innocent and kind boy who saved her, was in fact dead. Her mind didn’t register it at first, of course with all nonsense in the practical exam and the way he treated her felt so life-like.

The rude and unkind boy, Katsuki Bakugou, was the first to leave. He got up as soon as he was dismissed and went off back to home from what she could assume, and Uraraka transferred over to the other bed to get a little fresh air from the nearby window and a quiet breezy nap.

It didn’t take long for the nurse to tell her that her stamina had already been returned and she had the energy to go home, only thing was that she had to wait for her mother for safety reasons.

So after healing in the infirmary with fake smiles and eyes that were almost tearing up, she turned her torso window, waiting for the return of her mother, but ending up touching a mysterious green dust that sat still on the sill. She brushes it off with the palm of her hand off onto the floor.

Unsurprisingly, the dust went with a flick of her hand.

Surprisingly, it didn’t land onto the floor.

Uraraka didn’t think much of it, preoccupied with the mystery boy that she had tried so hard to forget.

When she went home after recovery, she found tears pouring out her eyes, for a boy she had only met for a brief moment. She didn’t know what it was, pity, anxiety or even regret. Uraraka regretted the fact that she was alive and unheroic whilst an innocent— and dead— heroic boy came to save her.

Night had fallen and solemnly Uraraka went back to her room to sleep. Teeth brushed and face washed, ready to go to bed but her eagerness was washed away with memories of the stranger at the exam hall.

She wiped the tears as she snuggled into her blanket, choking her sobs into quite muffles in order not to awaken her parents. Her desire— her wish— was to see the boy once more, for a second or for an eternity she wanted to properly thank him and let him know of the good he brought to her.

She shuts her eyes tightly and clenches her fist as the tears seeps out from the slits of her eyes and down her cheek.

“Please.” Whimpers the cowering girl as she tucked herself tighter into the depths of her duvet to hid underneath the darkness which was the room— but she knew that it’d be darker underneath but that didn’t seem to bother her.

It wasn’t dark, there was a light green glow which faded above her and was mint in its colour, it didn’t seem to be melded into one but rather particulates and grainy in it’s texture. Then the glow subsides, dulling down into a more forest green colour but still visible, even if it was barely.

Uraraka peaks out the covers of her duvet slowly, brown eyes gliding to the anomaly in formation. Her hands still trembling underneath the thin layers of gloves she had on and heart beating faster than before.

A sound of a yawn erupts in front of her and a small murmur of a mysterious voice, though it did sound fairly familiar. She pulls it off further to see the entire figure and there she sees the one person she had wanted to see but wasn’t expecting to see, Izuku Midoriya— or Deku as Katsuki likes to call him.

He looked rejuvenated, like awaking from a long slumber, the paleness of his skin wasn’t nonexistent and the bag underneath his eyes carried no weight at all. He seems so real to her and yet Uraraka still couldn’t comprehend what was going on.

His clothes were different too, not torn or bloody, just a school uniform she didn’t recognise it as any near her area but it seemed to suit the boy naturally and contrasted his glowing skin.

“Oh, hi there.” Izuku waves at the girl he was hovering above, his eyes glints in a kind manner to show her he meant no harm, he didn’t notice the fact that he had appeared so suddenly in her room, “you’re the nice girl with the cool quirk right?”

Uraraka doesn’t know why the universe decided to give her an opportunity so fast and so sudden, so instead of rationally thinking about why, her eyes end up rolling back into her skull as she faints back onto her bed. Izuku is immediately worried and surprised by her sudden reaction to him but when looking around he realizes that he’s not at the examination hall nor Katsuki’s room, he’s panics slightly internally.

His clothes were the second thing he found was wrong, the fact that it wasn’t torn at all but rather it was the Orudera Middle School uniform, he didn’t know ghost could change clothes and oddly enough he did. He turned around to see he was in fact a girls room and he spoke with a girl— he didn’t really speak but rather he talked to her and she proceeded to faint.

“How come I’m not with Katsuki?” Izuku questioned with a hand pressed against his cheek, his green hair bounced and his torso turned to lay horizontally in the air. “Why don’t I feel the link?”

Izuku and Katsuki had a link, a bond of some kind which tied them together, that’s how Izuku knows where Katsuki was at all times during the day, but now it felt as though it had been severed and he couldn’t feel the strong which led him back to Katsuki.

It led back to the girl.

So many questions about his discovery, so many unanswered. Questions revolves around his head like a black cloud and began to choke him of his plea for anything that had any relevance to him.

Turning back to the girl, he bit his lip and left the room— which meant fazing through the walls of her house and out into the air. He flew far into the distance and looked around at the area he didn’t recognize.

Why was life so hard for him? He wasn’t even alive to experience it.

-

Uraraka opened her eyes after what seemed to be an eternity, her head throbbing with pain and her body fizzing with pain and an uncomfortable warm sensation.

There in front of her was Izuku, hanging upside down from her ceiling and muttering constantly underneath his breath. For a while, Uraraka hadn’t said anything due to the fascinating sight bestowed upon her early in the morning. Her lips parted open and closed, like a fish to water, she didn’t know what to say to the boy in her room.

Luckily, she didn’t need to. He turned to her and immediately straighten himself out, making sure to look more than clean with his attire before beginning his sentence.

“Hi. Listen before you go back and faint again I really need you to know that I’m sorry for intruding and scaring you but I really need you help since I don’t know the area and my link with Kacchan is severed and that is a slight inconvenience but I’m sure I can get over it and I was hoping if you would accept or not.” Izuku said all at once, not giving himself a second to breathe.

Uraraka blinked once, then twice before finally face planting into the pillow. She didn’t faint however, she kept her eyes tightly shut and bit the side of her cheeks as her messy brown hair scattered itself across her pillow. Giving herself a good moment, she straightened herself back upwards and stared him in the eye.

“I’m sorry, could you repeat that?” She asked Izuku, he felt please that she didn’t go back to fainting or else Izuku would need to avoid her in order for her not to.

“S-Sorry for intruding but I need your help.” Izuku started. Uraraka gave him a chance to finish before she decided to speak again. “I need to find a boy, his name is Katsuki Bakugou.”

“Bakugou? That’s the kid from the infirmary.” She said and Izuku waited for her to add more. “Spiky blonde hair, red eyes, and a face frozen into a sneer.” She described to Izuku.

Izuku nodded, pleased that they were on the right track to help them both. “Yeah, him. We have history. He’s a good friend.” Izuku smiled to himself softly, green glossy eyes glowing in the shadow of her room. “Do you think you could maybe help me?”

“Of course.” Uraraka nodded her head as fast as possible. If the universe had decided on giving her a chance to help the one boy that had saved her than she wasn’t planning on backing out anytime soon.

“But, I have some questions of my own.” She added on to the boy who beamed happily.

Shaking his head so fast it became speed lines and blurs, Izuku replied the girl in front of him. “Shoot.”

“What exactly is your quirk?” She questions, head tilting to the left as her hair bobbed to the left side of her face and her brown irises twinkled in curiosity.

“I would want to say it’s a ghost quirk, but after thinking throughout the night, it might not even be close to that.” He replies to her. “I always thought it had to do with Katsuki, but now I’m really not so sure, it might be a lot more different than I thought and the ghost part is the cherry to the cake.”

“Hmm, than can you give me a brief description?”

“Bond. I can created bonds with certain living people. Katsuki was the first.”

“Then who is it now?”

“You.”

Chapter Text

As the morning sun rises high in the sky, Ochako leads Izuku down into the kitchen, a few hours before their meeting with Katsuki. She's wearing decently covering clothing and a pair of green rabbit slippers.

She lazily slides across the room, not bothering to lift up her legs and has her hands wrapped against her to protect her from the chills.

"Where are you parents?" Izuku questions, hovering just above the girl with his arms wrapped around the back of his leg and one knee stuck up in the air.

"I live alone here actually." She sighs solemnly with a small smile on her face. "My parents place is so far away, I could only visit them during big events."

"Oh." Izuku eyebrows furrows and he flips his translucent body over to Ochako, by her left hand side. "Sorry."

"It's fine," she insisted with her hand stuck out and pushing back and forth, "honestly, it hasn't been too far long since I've left."

She takes out a bowl from the top cabinet of the small kitchen and places it down on the counter in front of her. Her hand goes for the unbranded cereal inside a different cabinet and pours it into the bowl carefully, not wasting a single pellet.

"And you're parents... this quirk. Does it stop them from seeing you?" Asks Uraraka, her hands reaching out for the milk and pouring it over the contents of her bowl.

Izuku itches the back of his neck and grimaces behind Uraraka, he knows she can't see it so he quickly replaces the look with a straightened face.

"I-I only visited once to check, and pop in every once in a while." He bit his lips, "I don't want her seeing me even though she can't." The last sentence goes unheard by Uraraka as she places her bowl of cereal onto the small table and sat down on a chair.

"Mnn." She hums but it doesn't mean she's happy about his situation, she bolts upright startling Izuku as she realises something, "I forgot to make you a bowl."

"I-It's fine, I'm pretty self sufficient. Haven't needed to eat in a while... or ever. It’s hard to grab food and stuff.”

Uraraka stares at him for a long time, her fist clenched in the air and knees interlocked into one another. Lowering herself onto the chair below her, she grips her spoon and dips it into the milk allowing it to bob up and down.

She wants to ask a follow up question, butt her nose where it doesn't belong— motto of a true hero— but she unsure how to protect someone who's already dead.

"KATSUKI YOU DOPE, YOU'VE SLEPT IN!" Yelled Mitsuki from downstairs and partially surprised Katsuki bolts upright and stares at the drawer by his side, where a small digital clock sat upon.

12:38AM.

He tosses over the duvet off from his body and presses his feet down onto the cold floor below him, hands in his hair and elbows on knees as he bore his eyes down onto the ground.

There's no Deku this morning either. He was so use to waking up at five to train or to listen to Izuku and his bizarre theories on what their(???) quirk really was.

But Deku disappears on him, not a single word left his mouth and he leaves Katsuki alone, to his own devices.

A tiny, minuscule part of him is gracious for being able to sleep in for the first time since Izuku's death, but that doesn't replace the many years before of being awoken by Deku. It's like he was conditioned to feel such a way, and it's not something that is easily stopped.

Still, he tosses his pillow across the room, this time more lazily than before and watches as it soars across and hit the wall dead on with little to no force.

"Stupid." He utters to himself tiredly— despite being able to sleep in.

Katsuki gets up from his seat on the bed and walks to the door at a slow pace, looking back every once in a while to catch the translucent silhouette that flocked to his room every single day just until the entrance exam.

Now, the room is emptier, and there's some complex feelings— mainly his anger and pride.

"KATSUKI GET UP RIGHT NOW!" She yells before being startled by the doors sudden opening.

"I'm up, old hag." He says but it's a lot softer, less bite and more bark as he brushes past her, his back slouches and his arms dangle in front of him tiredly.

Mitsuki stares at him for a long while, seeing him so down was extremely upsetting but there's also the oddness she use to feeling that has vanished along with Katsuki energy— and she has no idea why it is.

"Katsuki what's wrong, ungrateful child?" She says a lot softer than before, again like Katsuki's it's all bark and never any biting.

He turns to her and glances at her for a moment before shaking his head and turning back around— he's been trying to convince everyone that Izuku's still alive since he was a child, it'd never work now.

"Stupid Deku's gone," he still attempts to get her to believe, "he hasn't come back for a week now."

Mitsuki heart clenches and she bites her lip, "you and I both know Izuku is gone." She is careful with her words.

Katsuki is aware she meant dead and even he knows it true, the boy is gone for good and he'll never be able to eat or sleep, but his soul and spirit still lives on.

Instead of elaborating, he glances away and heads to the bathroom. "Yeah, I know." He grumbles, not even bothering to put up a fight— he's drained of his energy.

Mitsuki hums and turns down to the kitchen where Masaru sat down by the table with his face pressing up against the newspaper in his hands.

"Masaru. I'm worried for the boy. It's been two weeks and he's slept in. During the exam he collapsed too, do you think he's injured?" She crosses her arms over her torso and leans against the door on leg stuck out and head pressing up against it.

"Mitsuki, dear. I think it's best to talk with him. Try understanding his point of view."

"You still believe that Izuku's with him, don't you?"

"Now, now. I've never said that," he tells her, "but in a world full of amazing quirks, is it really hard to believe there's one quirk which can turn people into ghost? Sounds absurd, but maybe it's not a ghost, but something that resembles so closely it easy to mistake the two with one another."

Mitsuki frowns, clearly unimpressed and upset by Masaru, "I'm not letting you delude him, Katsuki is brash, like me, if he has something to say, he'll say it. Even if the world says otherwise, it might be nifty for certain circumstances but not for this. One quirk from his parents and another mystery 'quirk' he made up."

"You're worried about what everyone else will think?"

"I'm worried about his future." She seethes, "I want him to be able to accomplish his dreams as a hero, not for the sake of me but for the sake of him." She sighs with her hand flowing through her spiky blonde hair. "I'm worried that if they classify him as 'insane' he'll never be what he wants to be and that makes me sad."

Katsuki barges in the kitchen, feigning ignorance to their prior conversation and reaching forth to the fridge where he grasps a carton of orange juice.

"I don't care if I'm insane, or disturbed. I'm gonna be the best with or without Deku." He downs the entire carton and slams it down on the counter, wiping his mouth with his forearm.

Then the bells goes of, chiming into the kitchen and Katsuki uses the opportunity to excuse himself from the heavy atmosphere of the kitchen.

"Who is it?" He snarls with his voice raised as he peaks into the small hole of the front door.

"Um, Ochako Uraraka, the girl at the infirmary with you. I-I wanted to talk." She awkwardly requests to him, her eyes blindly stares into the hole of the door from afar, not actually able to stare inside.

“How the fuck do you know where I live?” He snarls, hand unlocking the door and slamming it open. His arms crosses over his torso as he pears over Uraraka.

“Deku told me.”

He drags her in and closes the door, she doesn’t have a chance to react as she is pulled across the hallway and up the stairs to his room.

Mitsuki blinks as she turns away from the hall to Masaru, “since when was Katsuki one to bring someone home.” She says mildly surprised— Katsuki only cares about his future as a hero, to be the strongest of them all, or at least from what she knows of him.

“Oh, a friend perhaps, it has been long since he’s brought one over.” Chimes in Masaru, placing down the newspaper and getting up, “I should prepare something for him.”

Mitsuki scoffs, rolling her eyes around the socket of her skull, “ten years overdue.” She walks over to her husband and assists him in his work.

“Explain.” He barks an order at her, sitting on his bed with his legs crossed and there she sat beside him in a more refine pose.

“Izuku’s with me, I can see him.” She went straight to the point, lips pressed together and fist clenched together on her lap tightly. She loosens the scarf around her neck and takes off her bobble hat.

“Is he here now?” Asks Katsuki, leaning a little to close. His eyebrows furrows down as always and red eyes glints with a speck of hope and curiosity.

Ochako nods and points to the supposedly empty wall, “there.”

Katsuki doesn’t say anything else, turning to the wall and rearing his head back, “you dumbass why the fuck are you with her? Why the hell can she see you, is this a trick?”

He turns back to her for a response and she itches her cheek slightly embarrassed by the whole ordeal, “he swears it’s not a trick, he doesn’t know why I can see him.”

Katsuki bit his lip and irritatedly, his left leg bobs up and down repeatedly, the trembles spreading throughout the entire bed and to Uraraka. She waits for another question, staring at Izuku who is staring Katsuki right in the eye but Katsuki is unable to make any eye contact with him.

“You, round face, translate word for word, I need to here the damn nerds word for himself than some random nobody.” He snaps at her and she finds herself mildly annoyed by his behaviour towards.

“Kacchan, don’t be rude.” She seethes through her teeth, complying with Katsuki requests as she bore her teeth at him, “she’s helping us.”

His red eyes glances over to her and he stares at her instead of through Izuku and too the wall, “whatever you damn nerd, you left me for too fucking long, I dealt with you for years, you could’ve stuck around. We were gonna be heroes and like hell I’m letting you slack.”

“Kacchan, if I can reverse this, I would but I don’t understand what’s happening. I ran out during the entrance exam and then my body felt like it was draining and I became particulates.” She whispers, likely concerned for the boy and his descriptions, “I disappeared, I could feel it.”

“Okay, but shit doesn’t explain why you’re with her.” He grumbles angrily, grabbing Ochako on either side of her shoulders and gently shaking her with his large hands— he can see Izuku’s own image overlapping with hers, “you should’ve rebounded to me, it’s our quirk.”

“Like I said, Kacchan, I don’t know why. Maybe Ochako knows.” She replies, feeling weird referring to herself in such a manner, she edges away from Katsuki hands, peeling it off her own arms and repositioning herself on the bed.

“Who?”

Ochako decides she had enough with Katsuki and his rude behaviour to her, “I’m Ochako, I introduced myself in the infirmary.”

He shakes his head and the image of Izuku in front of Ochako had dissipated, “Oi, round face, did you do some weird shit?”

“No, nothing in particular, I was close to the site where he destroyed the robot? Closer than any other participant.” She taps her chin and furrows her eyebrows in confusion, brown hair cupping her face and swaying from the breeze of the open window.

She turns around at the sound behind her, nodding up and down, “Deku thinks that it might be area dependent, the fact that I was closer than anyone to him before he... wait, that’s too much for me to say at once.”

“Deku, stop muttering you damn nerd.” He snaps his head to the wall again and seethes. It seems to work as Ochako comprehended the rest of his sentence, “And you, round face, word for word.”

She gets up and tosses her bobble hat at him, startling both Katsuki and Izuku, “I-I don’t mind helping, but the least you could do is be a little bit nice,” she huffs out to the side, “not saying to suck up, just common decency you know.”

“And why should I do that?” He almost laughs at her, but there’s no smile on his face, only simmering anger.

“I’m your only communication with Deku, and I can make it your last.” She threatens him, but it’s empty— there’s no way in hell that she’d ruin Izuku’s chance but Katsuki was really getting on her nerves at this point in time.

Mitsuki walks in, not bothering to knock on the door as she’s holding a paw patterned tray of biscuits in her hand and carrying it into the room.

“Katsuki I hear yelling, hope you’re not disrespecting her.” Mitsuki stares at her son with her face scrunched up.

“I don’t give a shit.”

Mitsuki ignores him and goes to the girl, introducing herself to her, “I’m Bakugou Mitsuki, mother of this ungrateful child.” She smiles at her and Uraraka kindly bows at the woman.

“Uraraka Ochako, acquaintance of Kacchan here.” She teases with a sly grin on her face, Mitsuki is somewhat surprised at the nickname but isn’t given a response when she turns to Katsuki himself.

“Don’t call me that, round face.” He screeches but she doesn’t heed his warning, merely placing her hand near her ear and cupping it. “Just leave, visit me tomorrow.”

“It costs money to travel here, so unless your paying I’m not returning here. As much as I would like to help him.” By him she was clearly referring to Izuku.

“Fine, I’ll pay. How much.”

She blinks and utters out the price mildly surprised as his commitment— since earlier he didn’t even acknowledge her name. Mitsuki watches the exchange with a shocked expression on her face as Katsuki hands over twice the amount of money to her.

“That’s waaaay too much.”

“You came today, I’ll pay as long as you translate.” He tells her— seeing her more as a service rather than a friend coming over.

“Your number now.” He asks once more, “I’m not meeting in this damn house with a old hag who has no respect for privacy.” He says purposely aloud and Mitsuki decks him lightly in the head with the palm of her hand.

“XXX-XXXX-XXX.” Says Ochako And Katsuki grabs a pen from the side of his drawer and begins writing it on the notepad of his room.

Mitsuki offers a biscuit to her and Ochako gladly takes one.

See you Kacchan,” she tells him, walking to the door, but not before turning back, “and be nice to Ms. Mitsuki.”

Katsuki is well aware it’s Izuku speaking, a smug grin appears on his face, “I’ll do whatever I fucking want.”

Notes:

Why must I always have an urge to write at night than day?
