wadanohara and samekichi do their taxes

“Welcome home Samekichi…”

This moment was perfect. They were finally reunited after years of waiting. As Wadanohara hugged her old friend tightly, tears flowing, she remembered something.

It was tax season. Their joyful (and romantic) reunion had to wait. She looked up at him with an expression that could only read as “I’m so so sorry…” and cleared her throat awkwardly.

“I have to do my taxes. The deadline is really soon… I gotta mail them in.” She then grabbed Samekichi by the arm and gently ushered the shark person inside her house.

“So what do you own?” Wadanohara took out some papers and a cute little anchor pen - because she is a strong independent sea witch who does her taxes on time - and began to file her own report. She hoped she didn't have to pay extra just because she inherited a house, boat, grand piano, and magical artifact from her late father.

“What? Aren’t we doing your taxes?”

“You’re an adult now too. So you have to do them.”

“Well then. I have my clothes and this sick ass eyepatch.” He of course, was being utterly sarcastic, but he did have that (the eyepatch was in his pocket).

“...put that down.” There was no humor in her voice. Wadanohara was utterly serious. Samekichi could see it in her eyes.

This was going to be a long night filled with mature adult things. Like taxes. Only taxes. Pay your taxes.
