Chapter Text
prologue. [first grade.]
it's the first grade and jungkook feels shy as he walks into the school yard, taking in the large field to his far left that's now lacking a playground, some basketball nets on the fence to his right and some little basketball nets that stood on a plastic stand for the young ones to use, and in front of him stands a big, square building that's known as hundingtown elementary school.
there's kids playing basketball with the small, plastic basketball net that fits them for their age (or maybe they're just shooting hoops), and jungkook feels a smile tug at his lips as he immediately recognizes them.
the town jungkook lives in is small, and is known locally as the sketchy side of town. it didn't hurt his feelings, it didn't make him feel upset at that statement because he was unaware of what people have been saying. this city was all jungkook knew and he really didn't have much to compare it to.
"jungkook!" his friend jimin almost screams, stopping his dribbling of the basketball, wrapping his arm around it as he stars to run towards his friend. the other kids that surround the screaming boy don’t seem bothered.
jungkook couldn't help but break out into little fits of laughs as his friend came and attacked him with a big hug. greetings were said, hugs were given, and maybe even a cheek kiss but jungkook was too overwhelmed by his best friend's presence to really put a label on whatever that wet thing on his cheek was. he wouldn't be surprised, though. jimin was weird.
he missed his friend so much that he can confidently state that he's happy, maybe even feels a little mushy at all the attention he got.
when the bell rings, all the kids that were shooting hoops gasp, groan and complain. they unhook their backpacks from where they hung on the fence, picked up the basketball and began to slowly walk into the building, all huddled together like one big pack. jungkook's squished in the middle of the group, wrapping his fingers around the straps of his backpack and sighs, looking down at the newly done pavement and how his new light-up iron man shoes cuff against it.
"jungkook," jimin whispers once they get into their classroom, "hang your backpack beside mine! here! on this hook," jimin points to the hook that's beside the one his backpack is on. jungkook gives him a small smile and a nod before taking his backpack off and hanging it up.
-
jungkook and jimin love first grade, they love the challenge of learning new words and reading harder books and having time during the day to play 'house' with each other. of course jimin always ends up being the baby of the household, and if jungkook were to protest saying he wants to be the baby for once, jimin would start to cry and jungkook would end up getting a time out. jungkook hates when jimin cries because they're best friends, and mostly from the fact that it gets annoying after hearing it so much.
jungkook ends up protesting though, being the naughty first grader he is, he feels the need to challenge everyone he's around. "it's my turn to be the baby! you're always the baby."
jimin stops pretending to suck his thumb and sends jungkook an evil look, but it's mostly a cute baby pout. he watches as jimin begins to quiver his lip and soon enough, there's tears spilling out of his eyes and he's wailing like he did on the first day of kindergarten when his mother had to leave.
the teacher sighs, telling the two boys that maybe they need to be separated for a bit. she sends jungkook to sit at the other side of the classroom and play with play doh with some other kids, while jimin has to build blocks with a few others.
"cry baby," jungkook mumbles and crosses his arms as he walks away from his friend, or should he say his ex friend. he didn't think that jimin could hear him but he was wrong, it's like the older boy had some type of super hearing. "says you!" jimin fires back, pointing at the boy while his other hand puts a block on top of the newly made tower. jimin's chubby cheeks were painted with tears. jungkook just rolls his eyes and continues to walk away, arms still crossed and his eyebrows furrowed together in fury. he's so angry.
-
it was the next day and the two boys were attached at the hip again. there were no apologies being said but they forgot about their fight anyways. as little seven year olds, they had better things to do then to continue on unnecessary drama.
"lisa has cooties," jimin brings up, sipping happily at his fruit punch juice box. he's staring at jungkook, trying to find any sort of reaction. "bleh!" jungkook pulls a face at jimin's comment before taking a bite out of his sandwich. "it's because she likes to kiss boys!"
the two of them end up giggling at that comment, letting their little immature minds take over. they could never imagine kissing someone, especially because they don't want to catch cooties.
"kids listen up," the teacher stands at the front of the classroom, clapping her hands together with a bright smile on her face. "we have a new student in our classroom!"
jimin quickly offers jungkook a sip of his juice box because he had ran out of them at home, and jimin can't help but think about how much he loves his friend as he watches him sip on the juice box. they're so close to each other that they are brothers. they smile at each other before looking at their teacher at the front of the class.
jungkook watches as a shy, tall, skinny framed kid walks into the classroom. the tips of the kids ears are bright red and he's facing the floor, so jungkook can tell he's nervous. the mischievous little boy in him wants to lean over and make fun of the boy to his best friend but he stops himself.
"his name is kim taehyung and he came all the way from daegu to be here in busan with us!" the teacher smiles at the class then looks down at the small boy, placing a hand on his shoulder and gives it a gentle squeeze, trying to reassure him. "isn't that right, taehyung?"
the boy looks up, his cheeks bright red as he faces the class and nods, giving the teacher a glance. the teacher can sense the shyness and stops herself from cooing because shy kids are the cutest. a fit of giggles breaks out at the table jimin and jungkook are at and all heads turn to them. taehyung almost chokes because he feels as though they are laughing at him. with a small frown he adverts his gaze from the boys back onto the floor.
"i cant believe you did that jimin!" jungkook says in between fits of giggles, watching jimin as he grabs some paper towels to clean up the spilt juice box. "it was an accident!" jimin is giggling as well, wiping up the spill, and both boys have tears in their eyes and they laugh like it's the funniest thing in he world.
"was it really an accident?" some kid shouts from another table and that's what makes them start laughing again. taehyung looks up from the ground and realizes that the boys are laughing at a mess rather than himself and he sighs, relived. he even ends up giggling too because those boys are so silly.
what once was a duo became a trio in no time. the two boys were more than happy to share each other with their new best friend taehyung. and that was a rare sight, the two busan boys were so clingy around each other and easily jealous that they could never have any other friends, but for some reason, taehyung was different. they all just clicked.
••
[fifth grade.]
it's the fifth grade now and the trio are closer than ever; getting to the point in their friendship that they do almost everything together and are not shy about anything. of course their parents don't know because what they don't know won't hurt them, right?
"do you all want to share a bed or are we sleeping on the ground?" jungkook rolls his eyes at jimin, and he can tell that taehyung is doing the same because whenever they all have a sleepover they all share the bed. they always end up cuddling somehow which makes them blush when they wake up but they don't need to bring it up to their other friends about that. it's their little secret.
"oh yeah, right, i know what you're going to say." laughs jimin, shaking his head in disbelief that he even asked that question. jungkook and taehyung give each other a funny look which ends up in them laughing. jimin pouts, "what's so funny?" but their laughs result in jimin joining in.
the boys are in their pyjamas, sitting so close to each other that they're practically cuddling as they watch a movie in jimin's bedroom. the lights are off and it's getting close to eleven at night, which creates a scary atmosphere for the horror film that's being played. of course they won't show their fright because they're in grade five, and fifth graders are strong and brave. they have to be. especially for the girls. or at least that's what they have their mindset to be.
the film ends with the credits rolling but none of them are awake to watch it. they're all tangled together on jimin's bed fast asleep, in such awkward and uncomfortable positions that they're going to wake up with bad aches and pains.
-
jungkook's the first one to wake up in the morning, due to the fact that his position made him face jimin's bedside window. he slowly lifts his head up from having it resting in taehyung's lap, his eyes are squinted because the suns just so bright and if it were up to jungkook, he'd flip his body around and go back to resting against his friend. but it's his tiny bladder that's stops him from doing so, making him attempt to shake jimin's hands off from being wrapped around his own legs and slowly tries to slip out the grip that both boys have on him. "come on," with failing miserably at his first attempt, jungkook then tries to unwrap jimin's little fingers, successfully doing so as jimin's fingers go to wrap around something else, which happens to be taehyung's arm. they're in such a weird position that jungkook almost laughs, but he stops himself.
once all the boys are up, they're all sat on jimin's bed, each with an action figure in hand. now they'd argue that they are not playing with dolls, especially since they're in fifth grade and they are so mature and manly. but that's exactly what they are doing; they are changing up their voices and putting personalities to the toys they have in their hand and it's a cute sight, really. if you're sixty year old woman who loves kids, but if you're a girl in fifth grade then it would be embarrassing. they wouldn't dare be caught with toys by all the cute girls in their class!
"i think i like lisa," blurts jungkook, setting the toy he had in his hand down on the bed. "i mean she's super cute but i don't do relationships." the other two boys nod and act like what jungkook said is the abc's to them. they are so used to hearing jungkook say that sentence that it's become stuck in their brain.
it's kind of silly, how ten year olds think that they are top notch, that they are the shit and that they are above everyone else. to their own close friendship triangle, they are the shit. they love each other so much. what ten year old boy wouldn't want to date a pretty girl? that's what jimin’s thinking, gawking at his friend for saying such foolish things but he doesn't dare bring it up.
"lisa's been kissing boys since first grade," jimin remarks then proceeds to give his toy noises, pretending that the toy is walking in outer space.
jungkook very faintly remembers jimin bringing it up in first grade, and has a bit more memory towards the comment when he also brought it up in third grade, and now in fifth. "so? at least she's not into girls."
jungkook finds what he says a little funny as he giggles, but soon stops as he realizes he's the only one laughing. "don't get too silly on me guys," jungkook rolls his eyes at others, being completely sarcastic but the two boys aren't having it. "don't tell me you guys are gay? i've been cuddling and having sleepovers with gays, oh my go-"
"shut up," taehyung speaks up, glancing over at a hurt jimin and it makes him feel sad, his frown deepening for his best friend. taehyung can obviously sense that jimin is uncomfortable and he wants to change the subject, for jimin's sake, god even for his own sake because the atmosphere is thick now. but he doesn't, for the reason to that is unknown.
jimin begins to chew on his bottom lip, trying to stop it from quivering because he doesn't want to be known as a crybaby even though he is one. he cries so much because he's a sensitive little boy.
"jimin i - are you, uh," jungkook rubs the back of his neck awkwardly, trying to make eye contact with his friend but his friend is having none of it.
"no," jimin finally speaks up, his voice cracking a little and jungkook becomes aware of how sad he got over it. "b-but my cousin is. she - she came out to her parents, my aunt and uncle, but they didn't like it." he frowns, almost as if he's been through it himself although he hadn't. "my mom.. she felt bad. my mom has nothing against it so it's either we let her live with us until she can move out in a few years or have her be sent to an foster h-home." jimin's high pitched voice cracks at the end of his sentence, his voice was no higher than being soft spoken and he can tell his friends feel bad. the voice crack makes him blush a little, being embarrassed, and he begins to wonder if his voice will always be high pitched because all though all three of them are still too young for puberty, jimin's voice has always been slightly higher than the two other boys. he feels as if they are superior, kind of. he fiddles his thumbs together in his lap and doesn't bother looking up to see the facial expressions of his friends.
"oh jimin, i’m so sorry, how come you never told me? us? did tae know? i'm so sorry jimin i thought it would be funny!" jungkook rambles on, finally catching eye contact with his tinier friend. he feels a little more relieved when jimin sends him a small smile but the fact that he feels so bad and so guilty lingers in him.
"it's okay," jimin says softly, leaning over to give jungkook a big hug, even letting his head rest in the crook of his younger friends neck. even after the conversation they just had, they don't mind. not one bit. "and no, taetae didn't know." he lets out a giggle, covering his mouth with his small hand. "it's okay, she's okay, i'm okay. it just what you said made me upset, that's all."
"i'm still sorry," jungkook mumbles, and it's only jimin that hears him because a zoned out taehyung has his head resting against both of their legs, staring off into space. jimin and jungkook are still hugging, cuddling a bit too, with jimin's face still buried in jungkook's neck. taehyung doesn't speak up because he doesn't want to ruin this moment for his best friends. he loves when they bond together almost as much as he loves them.
"promise me it's okay?" jungkook sticks his pinky out, his lips pouty as he talks. jimin laughs again and wraps his much smaller pinky around his friends. "promise."
••
[seventh grade.]
seventh grade comes quickly, and the three of them are so ecstatic for this year. it's the year that they can finally join the senior sports team with the eighth graders and are guaranteed a win for sure.
it's the sport basketball that they figure they should all tryout for. jungkook feels confident in his basketball skills and he can tell jimin does too, but taehyung on the other hand, has a nervous aura to him that makes the other boys begin to feel unsettled.
"tae you alright?" jungkook asks, already knowing the answer to this question. they all know each other so well that they can sense what's wrong. "we don’t have to tryout if you don't want us to!"
"yeah!" jimin joins in, his eyes moving all over taehyung's face as he tries to study his friends expression. "no it's alright," he gives them a soft smile, "we got this."
it ends up with only jungkook and jimin joining the team and taehyung feels left out once again. he's always feeling left out with those two, it's like they're so close they're dating! taehyung wants to cry at that thought because he just can't imagine that, and quite frankly, he doesn't want to.
it may just be jealousy with the fact that he can't end up being as close as they are for whatever reason. he likes to think it's because he came later, and was the last one in their friendship triangle but he brushes that thought off.
-
"kookie and i aren't playing for the team." the two boys take a seat on either side of taehyung. "no buts," jungkook speaks up, "we aren't doing anything if our other best friend isn't there with us."
taehyung wants to smack them both for saying that, for giving up on the team just like that but he doesn't. he can't help the smile that creeps onto his lips at how loyal his best friends are.
-
it's after school now, jimin and taehyung standing oh so close to each other that they're practically one person. it's a habit they've picked up. "where's kookie?" taehyung groans, slinging his backpack from hanging off his left shoulder onto his right.
just before jimin can answer him, the two of them spot their friend walking out of the school hand in hand with a girl. not just any girl, but lisa. the girl jungkook said he wouldn't date.
the two of them feel a pang of jealousy, but they shake that off, or try to. they feel their stomachs sink, a wave of nausea hitting them as they take in the sight in front of them. they give each other a look, "yeah jungkookie's not coming over to my house today."
taehyung lets out a breathily laugh from his own comment, not noticing jimin had spoke up and agreed. they both look back at jungkook, only to find that he's looking their way, a prominent smirk planted on his lips as he points to the girl. lisa's completely oblivious to his actions which makes them both roll their eyes.
on the way to taehyung's house, the two boys hold each other's hand unintentionally. they didn't even notice that they were doing it until they got to his house. they started to walk and their hands brushed up against each other and the next thing was interlocked hands. of course they didn't mind, they're best friends for goodness sake, they can do anything with each other and have it not be weird.
jimin ends in of taehyung's lap, cuddling into the crook of his neck, a habit he developed and has had since the fifth grade. it calms him down and even makes him feel protected. taehyung doesn't mind one bit, his one hand is tangled in jimin's hair, playing with it and twirling it around his finger while his other lays flat against his side.
"jimin," taehyung speaks up, his voice wavering a bit as he feels nervous. jimin looks up, their faces so close to each other and taehyung swore he can feel jimin's heart rate pick up. maybe he imagined it, though.
taehyung can feel jimin's breath against his face and realizes that he's chewing on gum, which makes him shriek. "you got gum? can i have a piece?"
jimin laughs, reaching over a bit to his backpack and hands taehyung a piece of gum who puts it into his mouth without hesitation. he happily says thank you.
"jimin i have a question.. do you know what it means when you wake up with your.. thing being all hard?" taehyung blushes, pulling his head back a little so he can at least breathe and not feel any more embarrassed than he already is. "i-it happened to be today and i don't know."
he's expecting jimin to laugh, to call him a loser but he doesn't. jimin's just sat on taehyung's lap with his eyebrows furrowed and his lips pursed.
"where's your computer? we can look it up!" jimin gets up from taehyung's lap and you can see the disappointment in the youngers face but he tries to cover it up with a small, fond smile. jimin's just so cute doing anything.
jimin uses his chubby fingers to type into google the question taehyung was worried about. a few articles pop up and even some videos, and out of curiosity he clicks on the first video.
with wide eyes taehyung grabs his headphones and puts one earbud in his ear and shares the headphones with his friend. deep down inside they know that this is something little boys like them should not be watching but they can't look away. their eyes are glued onto the screen as he watches the two actors kiss and make out, the begin to undress and before you know it a cock is being sucked and someone's getting fucked.
their mouths are open, almost dropped and their cheeks are flushed as they watch the whole fifteen minute video of pure filth. jimin glances over at taehyung who has wide, glossy eyes and a dropped jaw, and jimin's expression is mirroring his friends. "oh-oh my god," taehyung chokes out, deleting his history, closing the tab and shuts his laptop shut as he leans back against the bed.
"i-i don't think, i-i mean, was that sex?"
the two know of the word sex, have a brief definition of what it means but they have never really learnt about it. on all the days that the nurses came in, the trio were so uninterested and preoccupied with each other and having conversations of their own to even bother to learn what anything was.
-
they ended up in the same cuddling position, but not as close this time, but their faces are only a few inches apart.
"jimin kiss me. i-i want you to be my first kiss." taehyung whispers, his eyes locked with his friends and this isn't awkward, even though it should be.
jimin smiles, "yes! i-i mean whatever. wait i-i mean it's okay with me. i'll happily do it."
and he closed what was left of the small gap between them by leaning in, their lips connecting and molding together. taehyung can't help but feel as if their lips were made for each other because it feels so nice. jimin's just glad he brought some gum.
they have a small idea of what to do when you're kissing, but it's only from what they remember happening in the porno. they don't add tongue or try to deepen the kiss because they're so inexperienced with this that their lips are just pressed together. kind of pressed hard together and after a few seconds but what feels like an eternity to them, they pull away.
jimin has naturally rosy cheeks as it is but you can tell he's blushing badly. his lips are a bit more plump due to the fact that they kissed so hard. they go back to cuddling and they are happy they have such a good friendship, that they can actually kiss and then go back as if nothing had happened.
"jungkook's missed out on a lot," taehyung giggles, putting his hand back in jimin's hair once he feels the smaller boy cuddle up against him again. "i don't think that kiss would have happened if he was here - maybe we shouldn't have done this. i'm not gay!" jimin fumbles over his words. "i don't like you like that!"
"relax jimin." taehyung says softly, feeling a hint of sadness at his friends regretfulness. "not to be that type of person but you said you'd happily do it. i'm just glad that the two of us were each other's first kiss. oh! we also now have experience for future girlfriends."
jimin sighs, nodding, feeling a little bad that he even regretted it in the first place because maybe he kind of liked it? maybe he liked the fact that he was kissing someone who made him feel at home and content?
their friendship is so strong.
"love you jiminie."
"love you too, tae."
••
[seventh grade part two.]
"guys i have to tell you what happened yesterday!" jungkook says happily, sitting with his two best friends at lunch. they're all eating well, which is good.
jimin and taehyung give each other a quick glance before taehyung speaks up, "yeah? what happened?"
last night jimin had asked taehyung if they can keep their kiss a secret because the last thing he needs is to have jungkook question his sexuality again. jimin is straight!
"i went over to lisa's house," he gives his friends a smirk, feeling a bit more cocky when he hears his friends gasp. "we kissed a bit and stuff." jungkook waves his hand in the air, dismissing what they did as if it's some everyday activity.
"so does this mean i'm the only one that has had their first kiss?"
jimin's drinking from his water bottle when he hears this, almost choking on the water but manages not to. taehyung is sat wide eyed, his lunch in front of him but he's not hungry anymore, his appetite had left him. they both can tell that jungkook is giving them a weird look. "so?"
"y-yeah," jimin manages to say, clearing his throat once he spoke. he gives taehyung a glance who seems to be already looking at him. he blushes, looking away.
jungkook notices jimin's weird behaviour and gives him kind of a dirty look, looking between the two boys that have rosier cheeks than usual. "am i missing something here..?"
taehyung shakes his head, lifting his drink to his lips to take a sip. "no, you're not. we're just embarrassed, that's all." that not exactly a lie; they are embarrassed but it's only because they had their first kiss with each other, but jungkook doesn't need to know about that. not right now. the lie is that jungkook isn’t missing something. how can't he tell that his two best friends have been weird around each other a lot more these days? that they have become more touchy and clingy?
jungkook watches as taehyung slings an arm around jimin's neck, which seemed to help calm their nerves and embarrassment a little bit. he frowns slightly because where's his contact? where's his affection? jungkook licks the inside of his cheek and looks away from his friends, eyes scanning around the classroom until he spots the girl he had made out with yesterday, laughing and talking with her friends. he smiles a bit at that sight because she's just so pretty.
"so are you two a thing now?" taehyung asks, observantly noticing how every once and awhile jungkook would look at her with wide, fond eyes. "how come you never told us?"
jungkook looks away from lisa, rolling his eyes at his friend for asking such a dumb question. maybe if he was dating her he wouldn't be sitting at this table with them because he'd be dating one of the popular girls in the classroom, and his friends are definitely not popular.
"we're not dating! i just.. like her? i don't know, it's complicated." jungkook groans putting his head in his hands and takes a moment to think of what to say next. seventh grade relationships are so complicated. "she doesn't like me though, so it wouldn't matter. we kissed and she told me that she doesn't like me because i'm not that attractive.. i don't get it though."
"dude she totally lead you on!" jimin blurts, feeling the anger deep down inside of him. he tries not to make his emotions obvious but as soon as he notices taehyung with a mad look he lets his own anger come out.
-
the three boys are hanging out again, feels like they've never been together as the trio in so long but it's only been a few days. "do you know what the homework was?" taehyung speaks up, digging through his backpack, he doesn't take anything out because he's waiting for an answer. "there was none."
and that's what started their gaming session, all three of them huddled together and shouting at jungkook's television as the anger from the game builds inside of them. "this is so stupid!" jimin groans throwing the controller to the couch that's vacant and adjacent to the one they're on.
"it's not our fault that you're so bad at video games," jungkook smirks, eyes not leaving the screen and jimin almost smacks him for saying that. taehyung lets an amused breath from his nose. the smile he had on his face disappeared when he glanced over at jimin during the game's auto save and sees jimin on the couch with crossed arms and pouty lips. taehyung can't help but think of the kiss they shared, and how his lips felt and how maybe how he wants to do it aga-
"game over!" jungkook says, laughing as he relaxes a bit more into the couch, he was stiff from the pressure of the video game. "what!" taehyung whips his head back to the television where he sees his player dead with the words 'loser' and jungkook's player with 'winner'. "that's what you get for staring at jimin like that you weirdo."
-
seventh grade is so hard for jimin. he feels weird trying to get to know and find himself because there's so much exploration he has to do with his little experience. when he tries to even question his sexuality he cuts himself off with the word 'straight'. jimin is straight, he likes girls and he definitely likes their bodies. what seventh grader wouldn’t?
but taehyung on the other hand, ever since he learned about the sex and the porn he found with jimin, he was more interested in looking at the male rather than the female. he knows what jimin would think, probably smack him from thinking that way before they kissed! hell, jungkook's reaction would be even more, taehyung thinks, because he has that attitude that he's homophobic. his thoughts scare him badly.
jungkook knows his straight that he doesn't even have to question it. he likes girls, loves them even, especially lisa. she looks so nice with her hair down and in her uniform and wow, jungkook really likes her. jungkook knows he's straight, yeah, but he questions his friends a little bit. it's normal for them to act clingy and affectionate together but not this affectionate. lately jimin has become more of a cuddler than ever, the passed few years have consisted of the best cuddles ever from one of his best friends. taehyung is like this too, he likes to hold his friends hand or play with their hair or touch any part of them to remind himself that he's not alone. that's why they are so hands on, jungkook realizes it because they're both cuddly that they work so well together!
no matter how many times they question themselves or don't, they push it back and figure it's an issue they will deal with later on in the future.
••
[eighth grade.]
jimin's not too sure how the idea came up but they're now apart of a friendship group that they call a 'squad'. it consists of their little trio, lisa and a few of her friends. it's kind of awkward but it gave them middle school popularity. everyone in their small school now knows their name and to be honest, it feels nice. it feels great knowing that people out in the school labels them as popular and no longer average.
the squad made it a day to hang out at the park, wearing their middle school graduation hoodies as their grade eight graduation quickly approaches. the spring air is warm but the wind is what makes it a little chilly, making it a perfect day to wear sweaters and play at the park with some friends.
lisa gives jungkook a hug once the trio reaches the location, quickly pecking his lips with a big smile. jungkook's expression is mirroring his girlfriends. the two boys laugh with each other and pretend to gag.
the two other girls that are there are lisa's friends. they're pretty, jimin and taehyung have to give that to them but they aren't really looking for a relationship anytime soon. they figure that having each other is good enough for now.
"we'll be right back," jungkook tells all of his friends, pulling lisa by her hands to the swings. the two other girls sat on the playground, smiling and waving the boys to come over and play. they give each other a look before walking towards the playground. taehyung glances at the couple and sees that they are standing by the swings kissing. "what happened to lisa having cooties?" taehyung thinks out loud and a girl beside him giggles, over hearing him. taehyung tenses up, quickly looking over towards the girl who giggled. it's bella, and taehyung relaxes a bit because they've gotten close since they've been apart of the squad.
"something tells me you don't like lisa that much." bella laughs, patting the playground stair for taehyung to take a seat beside her which he hesitantly takes. "no i like - she's kinda - i mean they're - no. not really? i mean she's a nice person but she's dating my jungkookie!"
bella gives taehyung a look, quickly applying her cherry lip balm and rubs her dry lips together. "your jungkookie?"
taehyung's eyes widened, hoping that she doesn't take that in a bad way because he definitely did not mean it that way. "i mean we've been friends forever and whenever she's around it's like jiminie and i don't exist. ever since jungkook started to go to the gym for whatever reason she's been attracted to him. so what he has some abs? i've been with him since he was having accidents in first grade and we all ate dirt! and jimin since they were in diapers! i've been with him even when he looks like shit, when he's crying and when he's happy. i love him, and even jiminie loves him for him but she loves him for his body and ugh!" taehyung groans, putting his head in his hands and rethinks his long rant that he blurted out to bella. it's happy it was bella and not anna because anna is a lying snitch and taehyung doesn't like her anymore than lisa.
"oh my god! are you gay, tae? you're acting as if he's your first love!" she exclaims, grabbing taehyung by the shoulders so that he has to make eye contact with her. "are you.. are you gay? you can tell me, alright? i'll tell you a secret of mine."
when taehyung makes eye contact with bella he melts, feeling embarrassed and tears prick his eyes. so what if he's gay? he doesn't have feelings for his best friend!
"i-i, maybe, uh, no - uh yeah." he sighs, closing his eyes and letting a few tears slip from his eyes. he found out he was gay mostly from the porn and the kiss with jimin helped him figure it out as well. as he got older he found a lot more male celebrities attractive, especially Jackson Wang, who he may or may not have a slight crush on.
bella immediately removes her hands from his shoulders and goes to wipe the tears from taehyung's eyes. "oh tae, that's completely fine with me! i'm happy you told me," she smiles once she sees taehyung opening up his eyes again. "really?"
bella nods, "i don't really have a label on myself. i like who i like, i guess. i'm dating a girl that lives back home in america." she laughs breathily, not really worried at what taehyung's gonna think because she doesn't really care what anyone else thinks. "we still talk, mostly online or through the phone. she's super sweet! my friends know, just not my guy friends."
taehyung studies bella's face, smiling a little bit at how open she is. maybe she shouldn't be that open considering a lot of people aren't accepting to that. bella knows that but she doesn't care, her family and friends are supportive and that's all she needs. bella's really pretty, her korean is pretty good and her hazel eyes are to die for.
"i'm so happy for you bella," he smiles, leaning in and giving his first girl friend a big hug. it's a cute moment.
"whoa tae, get it!" jungkook comes back with lisa, hand in hand and he's the only one with a smile. lisa who is standing by jungkook has an annoyed look and gives her boyfriend a hit on his chest. it shuts him up, his smile quickly turning into a frown.
"actually not gonna happen," bella speaks up, pulling away from their hug. "i'm taken anyways."
taehyung smiles awkwardly. he tenses up as he feels a hand on his shoulder. he looks behind him and gives a big smile to jimin.
"how come you never told me, tae?" jimin crouches down to him, whispering in his ear. taehyung tenses up again, feeling sick to his stomach. "relax," jimin says, tangling his fingers in taehyung's hair to calm him down. "i'm so proud of you and i'm happy for you. you're so brave!"
jimin has a smile on his face, curling a piece of taehyung semi long hair around his small finger, watching it curl perfectly around it. he hears taehyung whisper a small, almost inaudible thank you and it makes his smile widen. he cannot express how happy he is for taehyung because that's a huge thing to admit!
taehyung stands up, pulling jimin down from the playground and telling him to crouch before jumping on his back. taehyung's glad jimin has at least some sort of upper body strength because him falling is something he doesn't need right now. he's happy that he can still be touchy with his friends even though he may like it a little bit more now.
