Chapter 1: Noiz pours his heart out and then immediately tries to run away

Chapter Text

“My human parents?” His face is virtually unreadable except for the small bit of his eyes that say worry and frustration. “They’re not my parents.” His voice is flat. “They just raised me. Even if Miss Hasenkamp gave birth to me she’s not my mom.”

He presses his tongue to his cheek. He makes a clicking noise and sighs. “They're business people. Very concerned about their image.” The young teen leans forward threading his fingers together. He considers how to best word this. Demigods were used to bull shit happening to them but this…. This was a different kind of fucked. The kind that made gods look like good parents.

“I found out I couldn’t feel when I was about six or seven. I got hurt and it scared my mom, it was the first time in forever I got the see her stop focusing so much on work to pay attention to me. I didn’t understand why she was worried though. I didn’t feel anything. But I wanted her to pay attention to me more, so I started doing things to get hurt. Jumped off the house roof once to.” He resists the urge to laugh at himself because he feels everyone will just glare.

He rubs his eyes grumbling. “They became ashamed their first child was acting out so wildly. Miss. Hasenkamp started locking me in my room. For a while she would still let me out sometimes for things like diner or stuff like that. But after a while they stopped letting me out. They told everyone I was sick. Left me in a room with almost nothing in it. Abandoned my schooling to focus on my brothers. Sometimes they would forget to make sure I ate.”

He looks tired just talking about this. More tired than anyone who’s only about fifteen should look. Like he’s an ageless god done with every human he’s ever met. He looks as tired as Mr. D. Fitting though. He at least he liked his godly parent.

“I started figuring how to break out of my room. But every time I was around them, my ‘parents’, they grew angrier. They hated me. Everything I was. And no one ever did anything about any of it. My ‘parents’ could beat me and I’d feel nothing it would be nothing. They wanted to leave me in a cell of a room to rot.” His voice shakes for a moment, but he composes himself returning to a flat tone. “The last time I escaped my room before running away… Miss. Hasenkamp found me, she grew enraged. She hit me. And while I don’t remember what happened after when I woke up back in my room Mr. Hasenkamp said I had done something awful to her. Called me a monster, a demon child, and no child of theirs. I’m still not sure what but I think it may have been the first time I used my powers? Might have accidentally induced madness wouldn’t that be wonderful. They locked me in my room and I started to feel that they would just leave me there to rot this time.”

He sighs laying his head back and stretching his arms above his head. He stared a long moment at his hands before quickly dropping them and standing up. “So I escaped again and ran away. Never went back home and I wouldn’t even do it now cause that would put my little brother in danger.” He turns to walk off wholeheartedly hoping no one asks more of him on the subject.
He gets stopped though by a firm hand on his shoulder. Noiz freezes, mostly because he is actually being physically stopped by the strength of the other person, and glances back. He didn’t have to to know it was Mink. As if he wouldn’t recognize the behemoth of a man. “Not yet. I know you want to run, but not yet. You said your piece, now you need to listen to our responses.” Noiz almost wants to actually just bolt after hearing that. Not a good idea so he walks back over to the group with Mink and sits down.

Chapter 2: A Rabbit comes to camp

Summary:

Clear meets Noiz

Chapter Text

Clear drops off the small little raised edge of ground near the road. His rain boots spray water up water droplets hit the knees of his jeans. Soggy knee caps! Fun! He couldn’t be entirely sure what had brought the recent rain before he got to camp but there was a few guess’ and for once one of them was even himself! Okay that last part isn’t so great. Causing hurricanes didn’t exactly go well for his siblings and was usually pretty dangerous.

Slap! Slap! Splorp! Splish!

His boots make loud sounds in the water as he walks by the road. He hears faint arguing further to where he’s walking and looking up from the mesmerizing rippling of muddy oily street water he spots two shapes. Their fairly short one is quite a bit shorter though and that one he at least vaguely recognized. A satyr? That could have meant the one they were with was another half-blood. That could be good. That could be really good!

“Stop calling me that.” The assumed demigod sounded pretty young but somehow had the flattest voice Clear had heard in a long time.

“Would you just stop arguing with me already we need to get to the camp.” The satyr sounds exhausted.

“Hello?” Clear chirps walking up. The satyr practically jumps, unsurprising if he’s escorting one of them somewhere. Had to always be ready for monsters. The kid glared at him and his guide relaxed once he realized that Clear was definitely not a monster, actually he seemed to recognize him.

“Oh aren't you one of the poseidon kids?” The satyr ‘stands up straighter’ eyeing Clear. “You’re the one who’s only a summer kid right?”

“Yep! I’m Clear. I’ve seen you before but I don’t know your name. And I definitely don’t know you.” Clear glances to the child. Something about him was vaguely familiar but Clear knew they never met.

“I’m Midori. His name is Wilhelm.”

“Stop calling me that.”

‘Wilhelm’ snaps at Midori glaring. Midori doesn’t seem to actually mind to much, it sounds like they’ve had this argument for hours. Midori just seemed annoyed by the child at this point.

“Do you have something else you’d prefer to be called?” Clear asks with complete sincerity.

‘Wilhelm’ didn’t seem to believe so though and just crossed his arms and walked of a little bit and sat on a rock. This makes Midori very angry. That was probably a bad move. Clear wants to help, he’s got a feeling that this probably isn’t going so well since…. This is defiantly Midori’s first time escorting and ‘Wilhelm’ is probably suddenly being dropped into a horrifying world of death, destruction, and godlike powers! It’s probably a very confusing time for them both.

Clear walks over and sits down next to ‘Wilhelm’, who doesn’t look at him or acknowledge him.

“A lot of people at camp don’t go by their given names. Some of us don’t like them or have other reasons. If you tell us we can make sure that people only call you what you want to be called.”

Clear holds his hand in front of ‘Wilhelm’ seeing if he’ll take the gesture to stand. The child however immediately focuses in on his prosthetics.

“What are those?” It’s asked with such genuine curiosity and childlike confusion that it gives Clear a moment of pause realizing that he was so used to camp where prosthetics where normal.

“Their my prosthetics. I have one for my leg to.” Clear makes a point and pulls his pant leg up showing the white painted prosthetic. “They help me move and do things like a normal person their like synthetic versions of real limbs.”

The kid just looks…. So amazed. Like this is never something he thought possible. He without warning touches Clears hand before Just looking. Bewildered. Clear smiles. It’s fairly adorable how much it interests the kid.

“Noiz.”

Clear blinks a bit confused staring at the kid.

“I like being called Noiz.”

Oh. OH. OH! He was telling Clear his name!

“Noiz is a nice name. Would you like if I walked with you and Midori Noiz? We’re going to the same place anyway but we really shouldn’t just stay around here for to long.”

Noiz gives a curt nod and stands up. Clear joins him and waves Midori over. They really should get going. He didn’t know who Noiz’s godly parent was but but Clear understood even a minor demigod could attract some monsters and while Clear, a son of one of the big three, would attack more monsters he also could fight pretty well at this point so this was probably the best bet. Clear had over heard people call him onee of the more 'stable' of his cabin but he was still strong enough to fight.

Who knows maybe when they get to camp they’re figure out which god sired Noiz. He didn’t know if Noiz already knew. He was only interested in asking Clear about his prosthetics. His enthusiasm was admirable though.

Clear hoped that being a demi-god didn’t ruin all that for him.

Chapter 3: Welcome to cabin 9 we have knife bots

Notes:

i'm not really sure what I'm doing here but silver is like the second youngest Hephaestus kid I've realized.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The loud mechanical thunderous sounds of the cabin was…. Calming. But only to them who lived here. Others didn’t understand it but he did after living here for a while. When his sensitivity used by every unfamiliar source. Bad sounds. Bad textures. But warm metal and sound of fire, it was all calm and comforting.

He fiddles with small scraps of metal and parts. Unsure of what time it was he couldn't gather if it was night or not cause here you could always hear someone else working. Did any of them ever sleep? Well maybe when their step-siblings came aware of them staying up to late.

He pulls a pocket knife out flipping open and fixturing it to the device. He niks his finger jolting hearing a voice.

“Does Silver have a knife?”

He tries to ignore it. He wasn’t entirely sure who asked it but normal it was only two people who would get worried over his antics. The others of the cabin were more of the, encourage his board machine types. He didn’t hear any of the replies instinctively blocking it out and continuing to mess with his device.

A mechanical hand reaches in front of her and pulls the device away. He turns pouting. Their brother. It’s Aiden holding a smile. Fucking bastard. He reaches out but the device is held father away.

“Sorry Loba, but you are being made to take a break.” There’s that teasing tone and nickname Aiden liked to use. He keeps his pout keeping his hand extended. Aiden just shakes his head.

“Go sleep.” She almost laughed but kept their mouth tight shut. Aiden was one to talk he looked half dead from exhaustion. They slump lazily against the table. They could hear someone else chime in something. He thinks it might be Okuyasu. His voice was pretty recognizable. Sounds like gargled rocks.

He grumbles and still not registering what his brother said pipes back, “Talk to me after you asked your boyfriend out,”

A strangled gasp is the only answer he gets right then. Mostly in part because Michelle came up behind him and grabbed the back of his chair yanking it back practically throwing him off. He hits the floor and just lays there something metal pressing into his back.

“Killing your brother isn’t really nice Michelle,” Above him his sister rolls her eyes.

“Then get to bed. Did you forget that you’re not supposed to be making robots with knives anymore?” She reaches down grabbing his arm and helps pulling him up Aiden grabbing his other arm.
“If I go lay down for an hour will all of you leave me alone?”

“Yes.”

Once he’s properly up and stocks over to the bunks in the room climbing into his. He doesn’t actually lay down and just kinds sits there watching the others go on with their tasks.

“You have to lay down.” He glares at Okuyasu. But he relents feeling a pang of affection for his half-siblings. He knew them better than any of his other family. It made him feel like he actually had a home and there was a big part of him that didn’t like to upset his siblings. Especially one’s like Okuyasu.

He lays down properly now just in time to hear a small argument between Michelle and Aiden to break out as usual.

The cabin is loud and unbearably warm to others. But to them this is as home as it gets.

These kids don't hecking sleep

Chapter 4: A Suprise

Summary:

A startling discovery in cabin 9

Chapter Text

“G’morn’”
A simple greeting but a complete surprise. A voice they didn’t recognize. Everyone was fairly sure that a new addition hadn’t just been suddenly added to their cabin while they where asleep. But they were all so sure that the voice wasn’t one of theirs.

Bewildered teens turned to look at the source of the voice. None of them expected to see their youngest brother standing there the source of the emanation.

“What the fuck?!” Okuyasu is the first to pipe up. He’s exclamation earns a confused tilt of the head from the red-head and a slight narrow of their eyes.

“Are ya’ alrite’? What are all ya’ll staring at?”

Obviously oblivious of what caused their siblings confusion and shock. They just rub their eyes looking confused themself.

“Well, my brother-”

Okuyasu is cut off by a short “sister” from the youngest.

“What?”

“Can you call me sister Sometimes it’s just… that.”

There’s no processing time before Okuyasu continues

“Yeah sure. But since when can you talk?!”

Silver turns her head to the side thinking. “I could… always talk? I just din’t?”

That just seems to give his siblings more confusion. Brother is sometimes a sister? Absolutely understandable. Them not talking for years just cause they can?

“Silver you haven’t spoken a word since you’ve been here and you’ve been at camp for more than a year.” Michelle looks worried and steps over to her sister laying a hand over her forehead. “That’s hardly normal.”

That gets Silver the usual kind of fussy she gets any time she has to wake up in the morning. She gently pushes Michelle’s hand away puffing her checks up.

“It’s normal for me! And I have talked just not to you guys….”

“Who have you possibly talking to I’m sure that would have been news around camp?” Now their intrigued Michelle raising an eyebrow putting her hands on her hips.

“Heather. She doesn’t talk back though.”

“You… You talked to a dog instead of your own siblings Loba?” Aiden speaks up and sounds personally offended. Smokey gives him an unamused look.

“You call her Loba for a reason right?”

Aiden shoots back a glare to the eldest. Oku still seems to be trying to process his sister can talk while the other siblings have seemed to have already started to click with it.

“Come on let's go get ready it’s about high time we get out of the cabin before someone comes and tries to find us.” Michelle chimes in ruffling Silvers' hair.

Okuyasu seems to realize he had something else to do today to and suddenly runs to the door and out of the cabin. Anyone could hear him yell still and could figure he was probably yelling to his friends. “Guys listen what the fuck-”

Notes:

Thank you my pal for literally writing Mink's one line in this entire drabble
