How it all began
The clumsy idiot and his sugar
Yoongi was sitting in his studio, he tried to write some music but somehow the words wouldn't come out. He decided to give up for the night and sit with his boyfriend, his soulmate, his Hoseok.
The way Yoongi and Hoseok met was quite an embarrassing story, it all happened in an underground rapper battle. Hoseok was an underground dancer who decided he wanted to rap and just randomly join rap battles without any experience what so ever.
So that's what he did, he came to the club Yoongi hanged out a lot and challenged him to a battle. The battle went exactly how you'd expect it to go, it was a terrible disaster. Halfway through the song Hoseok tripped over his own shoelace and fell into Yoongi's arms. "Clumsy idiot" Yoongi said, "Sorry sugar". And well next day Yoongi woke up with a tattoo on his arm that said 'clumsy idiot' and Hoseok woke up with one that said 'sugar'. It was now 2 years since that day and Hoseok and Yoongi now live together.
"Hey" Hoseok said, "how's the writing going?" "Absolutely terrible" Yoongi replied while snuggling in his soulmates' arms. He loved laying with Hoseok, it made him feel safe. Hoseok started playing with Yoongi's hair and felt the tension in the boys' body release almost instantly, "he must've been really stressed, my poor sugar...." he thought. "You shouldn't stress so much sugar" "I know, I know," yoongi replied with a deep sigh "but I can't help it, I want my music to be good." "And it IS good." The younger one said, "hold up I'll make you some tea" "Could I have some coffee instead?" The still stressed out yoongi asked with a big pout. "No absolutely not, that will only make your anxiety worse Yoongi" Hoseok replied almost angry. Yoongi doesn't reply ,he knows he can't win this argument with Hoseok. Plus he's too tired to even try. He just adjusts himself in a laying position on the couch. A minute later Hoseok arrived with his tea, only to find his sweet sugar asleep on the couch. He decides to just let him sleep, he really needs it, he's been working so hard the past week it's almost ridiculous. Hoseok drinks the tea before going to sleep himself, tomorrow's going to be a long day.
The interview
"Psssstt, Yoongi wake up" Hoseok whispered in his sleeping boy's ear. "Big day today sugar". Yoongi's reply was exactly like Hoseok expected it to be: just some vague mumbling. Hoseok decided to let him sleep for another 10 minutes before checking up on him again. So Hoseok washed his face, put on some clothes and went back to Yoongi, who was still asleep. Hoseok wasn't having any of it, they needed to leave in an hour to go to the interview they were having together. There was only one way to wake Yoongi up right away, he wouldn't like it, but Hoseok didn't care. He carefully made his way over to the sleeping boy and started to tickle his feet. "Nooooooo, Hoseok stop" a half-sleeping obviously grumpy Yoongi barely managed to say. "Goodmorning Yoons" Hoseok said happily, "get up honey we have to go to the interview in an hour" "Ah crap, you're right" Yoongi softly replied as the rolled off the couch. "I'll make you some breakfast, Sugar. Just make sure you get dressed and washed up." "You're the best, Sunshine" Yoongi replied with great gratitude while he made his way to the bathroom
It was 2pm and Hoseok and Yoongi were getting ready for their interview. "Hoseok??" "Yes, Sugar?" "I'm kind of really nervous..." Hoseok could hear the tremble in his voice as Yoongi said that and didn't hesitate a single second before grabbing his hands. "Yoongi, honey, don't worry you'll do great I'm sure of it." "B-but what if I mess up an-" Yoongi's sentence was abruptly interrupted by the voice of a staff member, "Are you guys ready for the interview? Come this way." Hoseok and Yoongi followed the staff member and sat down on the couch. It didn't take long for the interviewer to arrive, "Hello, I'm Rachel. I'll be interviewing you today." "I'm Hoseok" "I'm Yoongi" The boys both said while shaking her hand.
"So, let's begin with the first question shall we? How did you two meet?" The interviewer asked. "Well, umm that's a funny story actually" Hoseok answered her, "I once wanted to start rapping and challenged Yoongi to a rap battle. So yeah as you can imagine that was a terrible failure, but it's how I met my Yoongi, so maybe it wasn't a failure after all." The interviewer smiled at them before asking her second question. "Your tattoos say 'clumsy idiot' and 'sugar' do you actually call each other that?" Yoongi decided to answer this question, "Hoseok gets mad whenever I call him my clumsy idiot, so I just call him sunshine most of the time. "He said with a little smile on his face. "Hoseok does however call me Sugar very often" The interviewer continued to ask them a couple of questions before wrapping things up. And within a couple of hours Hoseok and Yoongi were back in their appartment.
My sunshine
"Hoseok, honey?" "Yea, Sugar?" "Thank you, a lot for calming me down before the interview. I was like really nervous and you made it a lot better." Yoongi said. "No problem Yoons, that's what soulmates are for right?" Hoseok said while pulling the older boy in for a hug. "You truly are my sunshine Hoseok" Yoongi smiled at him. "I need to work again I'll see you in a bit" "Again?" Yoongi could see the worry in Hoseok's eyes as he asked that. "You've been working so hard you need to rest a little..." "Don't worry about me hobi, I'll be fine" Yoongi said in an attempt to calm Hoseok down. "By the way, like you're one to talk you've been working on perfecting your dance every day for three weeks" He shouted before closing the door to his studio
It didn't take Yoongi long to come out again, still stuck in his writer's block. "Urgh", he complained as he threw himself on the couch next to Hoseok. Hoseok didn'y say anything, he just hugged him, and they stayed that way for a while. "Still stuck in that writer's block huh?"Hoseok asked. "Yep" Yoongi sighed. It didn't take Hoseok long to suggest a solution, "Why don't you go take a walk around the park?" And that's what Yoongi did.

A walk around the park
It was a cold evening, most people wouldn't go outside with this weather. So Yoongi wasn't surprised when he didn't see a lot of people when he was taking a walk around the park, like Hoseok suggested. He felt a cold breeze against his cheek and started shivering slightly. "It's so cold... Why would Hoseok ever suggest taking a walk, this is horrible" Yoongi thought to himself, and let out a little sigh. Yoongi walked around that park for a while and started thinking, about his music, Hoseok, everything. Maybe taking a walk around the park wasn't such a bad idea after all. Yoongi reminded himself to always listen to Hoseoks advice as he walked a little further.
It was around 11pm and Yoongi had been walking around for about half an hour now and wanted to go home. That was until something grabbed his attention. There was a boy, sitting against a tree. He wasn't doing anything special, but Yoongi was entranced by him. He looked so delicate and beautiful sitting there as the moonlight carefully revealed the features of his face. The boy quickly looked in Yoongi's direction, causing them to make eye contact for a split second. But that second felt like forever for him, and he wouldn't have mind it if it actually lasted forever. Yoongi could've stood there and stared at him for hours, but he decided that would look a bit creepy and looked away from the boy. Yoongi felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and looked to see a message from Hoseok asking where he was. He quickly answered and started to walk back home. But even while walking back, he still couldn't get the boy out of his head.
A few minutes later, Yoongi arrived at his home. The boy still being the only thing consuming his thoughts. Hoseok's voice abruptly awoke Yoongi from his thoughts "Hey Yoongs, how was the walk?" "O-oh hey" Yoongi replied feeling a bit startled, "It was good, a bit cold though." "Naww I'm sorry hun. Should I make you some tea?" Hoseok replied softly, obviously feeling tired. "No, no it's okay. Just go to sleep, I'm going to work on my music for a bit more." Yoongi didn't wait for a reply back. He just gave Hoseok a little kiss on his cheek and went to his studio. "Goodnight sunshine" was the last thing he said before closing the door.
The second Yoongi sat down at his studio desk, the words started flowing out of his pen. His lyrics went about love, guilt, desire, everything he was feeling at the moment. All the songs he wrote that night were about one thing and one thing only: the boy in the moonlight. As time went on and more words appeared on the paper, Yoongi started to feel a certain guilt towards Hoseok. Why was he here thinking about this boy when he already had a soulmate? His beautiful little Hobi. He didn't want to think about the boy ever again. He didn't want to betray Hoseok like this, he couldn't. He grabbed all the things he wrote that night and threw them in the trash. He didn't want to make music that came from a moment of betrayal. Yoongi was left sitting in his chair, feeling empty. He sat there for about 10 minutes before he decided he should go to sleep with Hoseok. So he walked to the bedroom and laid down next to his soulmate, hoping to have forgotten the boy when the morning came.
The morning after
Yoongi woke up fairly late the next morning, which wasn't a big surprise considering he stayed up very late last night. He stood up, quickly rubbed his eyes and made his way to the living room. As he walked into the kitchen he spotted a tiny note stuck on the counter 'Good morning sugar, I'm out dancing I'll be back in time for dinner. Love, Hoseok.'. Yoongi was glad Hoseok was dancing. He knew Hoseok loved dancing even more than he loved hamburgers, and that says a lot. Yoongi heard his stomach grumble and started to make himself some breakfast. But as he was grabbing a cup he noticed something strange. "Huh, my tattoo was on my left arm wasn't it?". And that's when he saw, one tattoo on his left arm saying 'clumsy idiot' and one his right arm saying 'moonchild'. Yoongi dropped his cup and gasped. What was this supposed to mean? Hoseok was his soulmate right? He already has his tattoo why would he get another one? He loved Hoseok with his whole heart. This couldn't be happening. Yoongi's breath started to go in an abnormally fast rythm, he wasn't able to control it anymore. At the same time his hands began to shake and sweat slowly appeard on his forehead. He knew he shouldn't have thought about the boy, this was all his fault. Yoongi's knees started to feel weak and shaky until finally he fell down, on the kitchen floor, sobbing.
It was now a few hours since Yoongi first noticed his tattoo and he decided to call his best friend: Namjoon. He would know what to do, Yoongi was sure of it. However, no matter how smart someone may be, there are still some things you can't explain or give an answer to. But that doesn't mean Namjoon's visit was entirely useless. He gave some good advice and managed to calm Yoongi down. Which was, in fact, a miracle. There was still no sollution though. And Yoongi's anxiety grew with every minute that had passed, knowing that Hoseok would be home soon. Yoongi didn't wan't Hoseok to know about the tattoo, so Namjoon and Yoongi both decided it was smart for him to wear a long sleeved shirt to hide it. At least temporarily.
Yoongi heard the front door open and felt his heart race. "Hey sugar, I'm home honey" Hoseok's sweet voice sounded through the house. Yoongi was still so utterly in love with him. He didn't want to lose him, he couldn't. "Hello my sunshine" Yoongi replied walking towards Hoseok and hugging him. He loved hugging his sweet Seokie, it made him feel so safe. He didn't want to let go, he didn't want this feeling to ever go away. "You okay?" Hoseok asked. Yoongi could see that Hoseok was worried, he wasn't very good at hiding his emotions. Yoongi however, was. It took Yoongi a minute to reply "Yeah I'm fine Seok, It's just been a long day." Which wasn't a complete lie. "I'm sorry honey, you want to go watch a movie?" Yoongi appreciated Hoseok's effort to make him feel better and happily accepted his offer. The two soulmates picked a movie and both fell asleep next to each other halfway through the movie.
Hoseok woke up earlier than Yoongi that morning, as usual. Hoseok saw the sleeping Yoongi laying next to him all cute and curled up. He didn't want to wake him so he stood up very carefully, making sure not to make any sound, and went to the bathroom. When he came back he saw Yoongi making breakfast. "Oh wow, good morning sugar. What a surprise" Hoseok greeted his boyfriend. Yoongi looked at Hoseok and was in awe, he looked so cute when he was sleepy. "Good morning sunshine" Yoongi answered him and continued making breakfast. "So, any plans for today Hobi?" Yoongi asked him as he grabbed some flour so he could bake pancakes. "No" Hoseok replied "not real- wait Yoongi? Isn't your tattoo supposed to be on your left arm?" And at that moment the room went completely silent.

Chapter Text
Caught in a lie
"Yoongi?" Hoseok asks with so much anger in his voice it almost scares Yoongi. "Who the fuck is 'moonchild' and why is their name on your arm?" "H-hobi I can explain I swear" The can words barely make it out of Yoongi's mouth. "Okay, then explain." "I-I don't know what happened Hoseok, I just went to walk in the park and the next day I woke up with this tattoo I swear I don't know why this happened." "Yoongi, I don't believe you at all." Hoseok replies trying desperately not to lose his temper. "If you don't know what happened how come you have a tattoo? You have to look someone in the eyes to get a tattoo... Do you really think I'm dumb enough to believe that?" "B-but" "No buts Yoongi, you should have told me when you got the tattoo and you should at least have the decency to tell me the truth when I asked you about it... We could've talked about it you know, worked it out.. But now I'm not so sure"
The last sentence Hoseok spoke caused Yoongi cry, and as the tears continued to flow down Yoongi's cheeks, Hoseok continued his monologue. "Can you at least tell me the truth now? That's the least you can so." Yoongi nodded "Yes I will I'm so so sorry Ho-" "Shush" Hoseok interrupted him. "How long have you had the tattoo for?" "Since yesterday after I came back from the park." "Who is this 'moonchild' kid?" "Some boy I saw in the park that night." "Do you have feelings for him?" "I- I don't know I don't even know the boy, I don't I don't!" "It doesn't matter if whether you know him or not when we got our tattoos we didn't know each other either, Yoongi I'm sorry but I have to leave I can't do this" "N-No" Yoongi yelled at carrying the huge amount of desperation and anger in his voice. "Hoseok please don't leave I messed up I know I'm so sorry but don't leave please I can't live without you." "Yeah whatever, at least you've got your precious moonchild to ease the pain." Hoseok coldly replies. "I'll grab my bag and go to Jin's.... goodbye Yoongi"
Hoseok's pov
Hoseok was walking damn the street on his way to Jin's when he suddenly started crying. "Why, did this have to happen. Yoongi and I had such a great life together. We're soulmates, nobody has 2 soulmates right?" Hoseok thought to himself, his mind was running crazy. "How could this happen?" "Was I not enough?" "Would Yoongi be happier with that 'moonchild' boy?" When he finally arrived at his hyung's appartement he was crying his eyes out. Which caused him to get a lot of stares while walking through the city, not that he cared though. His mind was with Yoongi and Yoongi only. Hoseok knocked on the door and not even 5 seconds later Jin opened. The older boy didn't even bother to ask how he was doing, the answer being obvious, and pulled him in for a hug.
"So, what happened?" Jin eventually asked. "Well, eummm, we were just making breakfast and then I noticed a tattoo on his arm?" Jin looked confused when Hoseok said that. "But seeing your tattoo on his arm isn't a big deal right? I- I mean, right? " "But that's the thing" Hoseok answered "the tattoo didn't say my nickname.." "Well, what did it say then?" "It said 'moonchild' whoever the fuck that might be" "Hoseok I'm so sorry" Hoseok didn't answer he just started to cry. "You must be exhausted" JIn said to him after another long hug. "Come I'll make you dinner and then you can take a nap. We'll figure out this whole situation tomorrow." Not even two hours later Hoseok's belly was filled with delicious food and sound asleep. Dreaming about Yoongi...
