Chapter 1: News and Move and breakfast

Chapter Text

Haruno looked around the bustling streets of Ripple City, as he headed towards his destination. Though he had to admit that the place was one of the more unique places his family had ever settled down in, and they had lived in the past in places like Cairo, Venice, and Hong Kong. Hell, the reason why they were living in this city now was pretty unique too. His papa said they were going to live there to stay close to his mother and it was going to be a permanent stay.

That statement had Haruno gaping in shock; his father, the one and only Dio Brando was settling down in one place for a woman? One of his exs on top of that. His papa went through more people than his favorite brands of lipsticks. He certainly didn’t give two shits about them after they lost their worth in his eyes, especially not the ladies that gave birth to his sons..

The rest of the family were just as shocked by this. Uncle Diego had thrown a massive fit over the news, though in truth he seem more concerned about someone named Johnny, if his muttering was anything to go by. Donatello cursed up a storm, Ungalo just shrugged, and Rikiel had had a small panic attack. Yet, Dio was serious about this. The next day he had movers come in and pack up everything in the penthouse to be shipped ahead of them, while they got on a jet to a place called Ripple city.

The moment their jet touched down on Ripple’s international airport, his father started acting weird. Well, weirder than normal. He went from utter confidence to cringe worthy panic to outright rants. The man had a flair for dramatics, but this really took the cake. It had Haruno wondering exactly who his mama was and what did she do to his papa for him to give this sort of reaction the minute the man stepped into the same city as her. When he tried to ask, Dio would just stopped and stared at him , only saying:

“Your mother was my greatest rival, a truly ferocious creature unlike any other. No matter what I did I could never beat that Joestar.”

After that he turned and grabbed uncle Diego to find somewhere to discuss important matters aka get drunk at some club, leaving seven year old Haruno with his siblings and one of his Dad’s staff, Vanilla Ice. That certainly didn’t calm any of the little Brandos’ down. By the time, Vanilla put them all to bed, all Haruno could do was think he had to meet his mom tomorrow, and there was no way in hell he was going to wait for his dad to get his shit together.

The next morning, he got ready for his big journey by grabbing his ladybug backpack and stuffing it with a map of the city, a couple of snacks, and the spare set of keys for their house. Next thing he needed to do was find out where his mom could be and get Vanilla Ice off his back. Luckily, he had the perfect thing in mind to get what he wanted out of the man.

“Vanilla, I’m pretty sure you know where my mama lives, right? You are one of my father’s right hands after all.” He inquires while taking a seat at the dining table, his brothers giving him a curious look as they eat their breakfast. Their big bro was up to something and it had to do with his mommy. Vanilla, however, seemed oblivious to this, as he going to retort that it wasn’t any of the child’s business but that bit of flattery from Dio’s golden son was enough to let his guard down.

“Of course I know, young master. I know everything there is about Master. Not only do I know where that Joestar lives, I know where they work as well.” He states proudly, not seeing the little smirk that graces Haruno lips at that news.

“Would you mind telling me then?” Haruno looks the man straight in the eye.

“While your father didn’t order me to keep it a secret, I’m sure Master will be taking you to see them soon. So there is no need for you to know.” Vanilla nods to himself. “He’ll probably do so after he gets back from his newest associates’ place.”

“You say it like he isn’t at some random person’s place,” the boy knew good and well his papa and uncle were probably staying with one of their new sex buddies’ place. There was no need to make it sound like he visiting a classy business partner.

Vanilla seemingly ignores the remark, filling up Rikeil’s glass with more milk. “Well, it doesn’t matter. You still don’t need to know.”

“Are you sure about that?” Haruno drawled before sighing. “I guess these never before seen snapshots of my papa will going to Pucci.”

“…What?”

“Yeah, I grabbed a few leftover pictures of papa from his photo shoot in Milan.” He takes said pictures out of his backpack. “Dad doesn’t have use for them, but I thought for sure you would. Oh well… Pucci will love these.”

“What’s your price?!” Vanilla looked fanatic, he had to have those pictures, as there was no way he was letting that asshole Pucci get a hold of them.

“I want mama’s home address and her work address. ” If there was one lesson he learned from his dad  it was how to manipulate all of the man’s subordinates.

“Done.” The man replied as he rushed to grab a pencil.

Donatello just rolled his eyes at all of this, as he couldn’t understand why his shitty dad let Vanilla of all fuckers to watch over them. Ungalo didn’t care too much about the situation, he just to dug into his cereal, while Rikiel grimaced, not liking where it was going.

“You’re going to go find your mama, right? Are you sure? I mean, Daddy says she super scary,” the youngest shivered, thinking about the way his Daddy described the lady.

“I’ll be good. I know what I’m doing don’t worry,” he smiled reassuringly at Rikiel.

“Don’t blame us, when you get your pasty ass kicked.” Donatello snorts before digging into his eggs.

Vanilla rushed back into the room, handing Haruno the addresses on a slip of paper, before snatching the pictures from the child’s hand and rushing to the guest room. The Brando kids really didn’t want to think what the sicko was going to do with them.

After he finished his breakfast and taking the time to reassure Rikeil one last time, he was off. He decided to head to his mama’s work first, as adults didn’t come home until late after all. That is how he ended up in front of the Star Prism cafe. This is where his mom worked and today he was going to meet her. He steeled his nerves and reached for the door.

Chapter Text

For some, it might seem unfair that a man as cruel and ruthless as Dio was allowed to have happiness. Those fools didn’t understand how he had to fight tooth and nail to get to this point; he had just made it look easy. He has good looks, wealth, worshipers by the thousand, and a lovely “family”. As a model he could live anywhere in the world, enjoy the perks of such a rich life. Not to mention being an outstanding father and lovingly caring for his sickly brother. He could normally handle all these responsibilities with ease, always composed and on top of things.
Until the letter came, surely spelling disaster for the poor Brando family. A curse that haunted them since they were young. A never ending plague that brought the purest of suffering to him.

The letter informing the Brandos the notice to return to Ripple City had come; no he wasn’t being melodramatic, he snipped when he informed his clearly brain dead brother. Then he gleefully informed Diego, that if they were going back, Johnny wouldn’t be far away, and that got him a proper wail. Going back to Ripple meant seeing his J— that cursed Jojo, Jonathan. That brought with it a whole slew of problems.

He had avoided thinking of that man for seven years, even if their bond had created his magnificent golden child. Even if Jonathan was the second hottest man he ever met, besides himself. Even if he would love to finally see that man submit to his glor— …No, he hadn’t thought of Jonathan at all. Now he had to see him because of silly court orders, so that Haruno could finally be near his lesser genetic half.

At least he had been somewhat prepare for this, he didn’t like leaving too many loose ends. After he informed the family, he called Pucci ordering him take a flight over to prepare the manor he purchased for when he returned to Ripple. It would be no where near ready by the time all of them arrived, but they would be staying a penthouse in the mean time. He would take the time in between to prepare to confront his rival. He’d show his son that while he begrudgingly admit his mother was an unpolished gem, he was the one to truly sparkle. Yes, Jonathan and his little family would cower before his might.

…Is what he thought before they disembarked from the airport in Ripple City. Now that he was here, he couldn’t help but be slightly nervous. Jonathan had several other brats that he had fathered, would he even care about Haruno? No, what was he thinking, Jonathan was the biggest bleeding heart on the planet. It was no wonder the man hadn’t up and adopted anyone that came to him with asob story. Dio’s mind clearly forgot that while his Jojo was naive and sappy soul. Once he found out he was messed with, his heart took a backstage seat to his fists.

Maybe he should be worrying more about Jonathan’s brats. Yes, they were the root of the problem. Once they found out that their golden brother had returned to them. They take every chance to bring his little golden one down, since they weren’t blessed with his perfect genes, they would naturally be jealous. If Jonathan didn’t have any other kids, than it would have been easy to drag him off and have him focus on what important; Dio and his amazing children. He’d even be able to take Johnny as well to keep Diego off his back for a while.
Sometimes he felt like the universe was conspiring against him.

Here he sits looking over the city from the penthouse terrace, he had to admit the metropolis looks lovely even if he has stayed in much more amazing places. Jonathan at least still had some taste when it came to location and he even seem to be living in some leisure from what Pucci reports told. He should sample what the nightlife of his place has to offer before heading over to Joestar’s abode. As he stands, pulling out his phone to call Vanilla Ice to watch the children. Maybe he should drag Diego along as well, his brother seemed to be a little stress since his announcement. A night on the town would do them both wonders and make sure they’ll be at their best when the time came.

Chapter 3: Silk, Stars and Confusion

Chapter Text

He had been standing there for a good few minutes, thinking once he opened this door he’d get to meet his mama, before reaching up for the handle. Just as his small hand grabbed a hold of the doorknob, the area around him had gone dark. He blinks in confusion before realizing that it hadn’t become dark, just that someone’s shadow is looming over him.

“I can assure you little one, that the inside is even nicer than the door,” the shadow’s owner remarked. Haruno jumps and turns around to see a weird looking tall man, smirking down at him. The man has long hair, tiny squares of hair for a beard and a large western style hat. With a toothy grin, Haruno sees the man’s beard isn’t the strangest thing about the man, it’s his shiny golden teeth with letters embossed onto them. The little Brando could almost make out what they spelled out before the man began to speaks again.

“If you want to stare at me, then you’re quite welcome to, though Johnny over here wants to head inside.” The man gestures to his companion. The other person, Johnny, sat in a wheelchair , and his blond hair was covered with a odd star pattern cap that was adorned with a horseshoe. Johnny gives Haruno a glance, before rolling his eyes at his friend.

“He’s probably here to see one of the kids.” The blond, Johnny, interjects. “Your amazing looks are probably freaking him out, Gyro”.

The man known as Gyro just smirks at his friend, looking ready to give a witty retort. Haruno doesn’t have time to watch these guys talk. Instead he decides to ignore the weird men and head inside. A gentle chime of a bell rings out as he opens the door, the scent of cloves and old books are the first things he takes notice of as he enters the cafe. It’s rather homely, nothing extravagant like the high class places his papa drags the family to.

There are soft cushioned chairs scattered about with circular tables placed near them, a couple of longer tables in a few corners of the room. Multicolored bookshelves lined the walls filled with books and magazines of all sorts of sizes and colors. Everything was made of some sort of dark wood and the lighting gave the entire place a warm atmosphere. There aren’t that many patrons in the place at the moment since it was still pretty early. Haruno looks to the left and sees two old men in a heated debate about a mask from what he can hear. To the right there is a policeman having his morning coffee, he guessed at a glance. In the back was a serving counter built next to a clear food display lined full of various baked goods. Next to that was a sitting counter for customers, so people could sit close to the main attraction.

That’s not what caught the little Brando’s attention. At the bar stools, a stylish looking woman sat, in her left hand holding a red book that had a few random shapes on the cover with yellow colored title, a steaming beverage at her side. He had a feeling this might be the lady, this might be his mama. She definitely looks of someone who wouldn’t take anyone’s nonsense. She certainly is more than pretty too. She has to be the one. Which is why he starts to feel nervous the closer that he gets to her. What if his mama didn’t like him, what if she really is as scary as his papa made her out to be? Those thoughts swirl in his mind.

When he gets within reaching distance the women turns from her drink and looks down. Her brow raise in confusion before she smiles at him.

“Well I’ve never seen you around here before, I certain don’t think you need me for school matters.” She says. “So what can I do for you, little one.”

Now that she’s talking to him, he realizes that he should probably make sure this is the right person. Just because the lady looks like she could definitely be his mama, doesn’t mean he shouldn’t make sure she is.

“Hey lady do you have any kids?” He says trying to look her in the eye like his papa told him. Except it was pretty hard to do with those sunglasses she was wearing.

Her faces scrunches up in slight confusion before nodding. “Yes.”

“Does one of your kids look like me? ” He stares intently at her. It might have been intimidating, but he was only seven.

“Yes.”

The bell gives a soft chime and the men from earlier come inside.

“Are any of them this big,” He raises his arm up and wave it at his height.

“…Yes.” The confusion the woman was experienced ramped up, what exactly was this little boy getting at. She gave a slight wave to the approaching duo before focusing on the child once more.

“Final question.” If she answers yes then he had finally found her at last. He braces himself as he ask his questions.

“Is your last name Joestar?” Finally the moment of truth.

All the woman could think, did Josuke do something to this young man for him to her first? She thinks to herself before giving a nod to the child.

“Yes, I’m Elizabeth Joestar, though I have to ask, what so interesting about my children?” She barely finishes before the little boy runs up and hugs her leg.

“I wanted to make you were my mama before I hugged you, it’s nice to meet you mama,” he says with a beaming smile. Elizabeth reared back slightly in shock, as one of the men from earlier, the one in the wheelchair, professes in dismay.

“Okay, Lisa Lisa, what the hell is this kid talking about? Last time I remember you only had two brats, not three.” Johnny had slowly wheeled over to the pair, pulling up to an open spot at the counter that didn’t have a chair, his long haired companion taking a few steps to the side to stand closer to Haruno.

“I’m not too sure myself,” She gently pushes back the boy and takes off her sun glasses. “I'm sorry, but I’m quite sure I’ve only had two children in my life. Though you are cute, I can’t possibly be your mother.”

Haruno started pouting “No! You answered all my question right plus you said you were a Joestar, my daddy said my mama was one. I even had his weirdo guard tell me where she lives and works. He said she works at this cafe!”

“Woah hold on kid, I don’t think anyone in this city would have to ball to say that Miss Silk had their kid except her husband.” The man with the gold teeth spoke up, walking to stand over Haruno to pick the boy up. As he was being lifted, he raised his face upwards to give the man a glare, he starting frail trying to get out of the man’s grasp.

“Gyro, put him down.” Elizabeth reprimanded Gyro firmly, the corners of her full lips pulling downwards in a small frown.

“Actually no Gyro hold him up. If this kid claims to be a Joestar, there is one sure fire way to know.”

“Johnny!” Elizabeth got up from her seat, somewhat exasperated. The police officers from earlier turning to look what was going on. She reaches out to attempt to grab Haruno from Gyro’s grip, however he was a bit faster in pulling down the side of the child’s shirt. Standing in stark contrast over Haruno’s pale skin was the infamous star-shaped birthmark of the Joestar bloodline.

“What?!” Johnny and Elizabeth exclaimed in short-lived shock. Haruno stops struggling from the man’s grasp while the adults circling him gape in surprise Finally getting himself together, Gyro puts the kid down.

“Sorry for doubting you kid. Looks like you were right” Haruno gave a huff, pleased to be back on the floor with the adults believing, yet he was annoyed by his treatment.

“Yeah I didn’t lie, but if that lady isn’t my mama, who is?”

Johnny pulls up closer to Haruno as Gyro back off. He had a feeling he knew exactly who this kid was then. Looking at his sister, it seemed that she did too.

“I can’t believe this, but kid just a question for you, is your pa named Dio Brando?” Johnny asks.

“Yep! My dad had business to do so he couldn’t come with me.” All three adults look rather pale at the admission.

“I’m sure that's what it was” Gyro muttered softly. Elizabeth elbowed him in the gut before turning to Haruno. This was going to be difficult to explain, since like usual that asshole of a man had to make every situation difficult.

“If that’s the case Haruno, then we do know who your mother is. Though your father left a few details about it out, it seems.”

“Yeah, he didn’t tell me what she looked like or anything.” His lips pressing together in a small displeased frown. His papa always seemed to have trouble remembering all the ladies he’s been with.

“Oh no it’s a bit more complicated than that. Though your mother is here.”

“What do you mea-” Before he could finish that sentence, the door to the kitchen opened up with a soft thunk against the wall.

“Alright I finished up your scones, Lisa Lisa.” and out stepped a huge muscular man in a light blue apron. The man notices Haruno and gives him a gentle smile.

“Oh hello there, I’m Jonathan Joestar. Welcome to the Star Prism cafe. Is there anything you’d like?”

Johnny shakes his head before turning to Haruno. “Speaking of your mother, here he is.” Johnny gestures to Jonathan before pointing back down to the kid, “Jona, cut the welcome spiel, this is Haruno”

Haruno jumped back in bewilderment looking to the shocked cafe owner, then once again to Johnny . What in the world is this man talking about?

“…Haruno, you’re finally here!” the man’s face bright with gleeful excitement, rushed around the counter, lifting him up in a surprisingly soft hug. Haruno turned his eyes away from the chest his head was buried into, to everyone else in the room with a dumbfounded expression taking over his face.

“Huh?”
