Chapter 1: Being The Queen.
Chapter Text
Reaver stood on the balcony above the ballroom, his secret society guest had been murdered. He scoffed out of frustration, before putting on his usual smirk.
“Well, I must say, you've made me out to be a somewhat poor host. Rather rude of you to dispose of all my guests.”
“Now it's your turn Reaver.” Page hissed as she drew her gun. I glanced over at her, ready to draw my sword at any moment.
Page pulled the trigger of her glock, Reaver didn't flinch as the bullet whizzed towards him. With lighting speed, he deflected the bullet with his cane, that dumb smirk not leaving his face.
“Oh, my dear girl why not stop all this bickering? The three of us could go up to my quarters and have a private party.” he said, setting his cane back on the ground and leaning on it a bit. Page and I glanced at each other for a brief moment, both stunned by his reaction time.
“Do you have any idea who this is? This is Logan's sister. The princess.” Page sneered at the man's suggestive comment. I turned my attention to Reaver, awaiting his reaction.
He raised a brow before shifting where he stood.
“The King's sister, a bonafide hero…” he rested his hand on his hip, that smirk remaining on his face. “Well I wouldn't dream of coming between siblings. Well, that's not strictly true...There was that one time…” he paused and turned his back to us. “Anyway, best of luck with this whole revolution lark. Perhaps we shall meet again one day. Tatty Bye!” he said as he walked through the double doors, disappearing into the mansion.
“Hey come back!” Page yelled as she shot at Reaver one last time. Her face shifted into an annoyed look. “Bloody coward.” She hissed. I looked at Page, not sure what we were supposed to do about Reaver now.
“Would someone mind getting us out of here now?” Kidd spoke up, he was still trapped in the cage above us.

I sat in the throne room as Hobson went on his daily rant of what my royal agenda was. I was drifting in and out of sleep, partially due to boredom, partially due to my recent quest.
“Anyways your Majesty, seeing as how the Crawler ruined your big one year anniversary, we have pushed it back to Saturday, next week.” He spoke, looking over the list in his hand. I leaned against my hand, waving him off replying with ‘Uh-huhs’ and ‘Oh, alright.’
My head dipped down towards my lap, causing me to jolt back up, awake and attempting to be alert.
“You'll need a plus one your Majesty, I don't suppose you found anyone special on your rise to throne?” I glanced at Hobson
“No, I didn't have time for romance, and leading a rebellion. Only a mad man would do that, besides there would have been a chance of them ending up dead.” I shifted in the plush pillow that sat atop the throne. Hobson rolled the scroll closed and looked at me.
“Your Majesty, if you don't have a special someone I could suggest a few remarkable people for you to choose from.” I gave him an annoyed look.
“I'm perfectly capable of going to my own party, by myself.”
“I do understand that your majesty, I am simply offering a way to keep your renown high, your brother always attended parties by himself. People did not like that because they were worried about having an heir to Albion.” He cleared his throat. “I'm not saying you have to marry whoever you decide to take, but a social act would definitely boost the moral of the Kingdom.” he said.
I glanced at Hobson before slapping my thighs out of frustration.
“Fine, I'll choose a plus one. Make a list of whoever you think is suitable and well go through them.” I said as I slumped back into the throne.
Chapter Text
Hobson had set up a luncheon with the people he thought would be of good renown. We all sat in the garden, mingling with one another. I was dressed up in a very elegant green dress. It was floor length, with a black corset. The sleeves lightly hugging my shoulder. My hair had been done up in a royal bun, decorated with bright red rose's.
I looked over my choices, none of them really catching my eye. Most of them had come from rich families and had to flaunt that. Others were small businessmen, hoping for an increase in sales if they're seen with The Queen.
One of the servants had brought a tray of wine over offering it to the guest. I flagged her down, taking a glass for myself.
“Thank you.” I said sweetly as the servant nodded and gave a small bow, returning to the luncheon guest. I took a large swig of my wine, holding onto my glass as more men had come over to offer their best face, hoping that I'd choose them. Hobson had made his way over to me, a wide smile across his face. He sat next to me on the bench.
“Well your majesty, is anyone being of any interest?”
I let out a soft chuckle “There are...some interesting people, that is for sure.” I commented looking over the guest.
“I must remind you to keep the interest of the kingdom in mind.” I raised a brow, taking another swig of my wine. I tapped the sides of the glass, forcing myself to make a decision. I pushed my lips together, getting ready to give Hobson and answer.
“Oh I hope I'm not too late for this royal luncheon.” A familiar voice rang clear through the crowd. I looked up from my glass and saw him. I would recognize that white suit and dumb top hat anywhere.
“Reaver?” I spoke loud and clear. The people all glanced at me. Reaver leaned against his cain, that more than familiar smirk across his face. Hobson leaned over towards me and motioned at Reaver.
“Your Majesty, Reaver is far more of an impact than any of these guests here today. He did aid in rebuilding the kingdom, plus you two have already worked together.” He spoke as I turned looking at him, before shifting my gaze back at Reaver.
“You're staring my Majesty, see something you're interested in?” He said coily. My stomach tied in a knot as my mind wandered off on Reavers comment.
“N-no.” I managed to mutter, shaking my head a bit to put my mind back on track. Hobson's words were stuck with me as I looked over Reaver. Hobson was right, we had worked together before, there wouldn't be as much awkward tensions between us. “Actually.” Said as I stood up, handing my glass to Hobson. I walked over to Reaver, standing in front of him, he was a lot taller than I had remembered. He even looked a bit younger somehow. Reaver looked down at me, taking a step back, to give a small bow.
“My apologies for being late, I seemed to have lost my invitation.” He said as he straightened back out, looking me over. My stomach tightened even more, as I chewed on my inner cheek.
“Reaver.” I started, “As Queen, I ask you to be my Royal chaperone.” I waited for his reaction, trying to find some sort of emotion behind that smirk. He tilted his head a bit and chuckled.
“Who would I be if I denied the queen?” He took one of my hands and kissed my knuckles lightly. A shiver went over my body as he kissed my hand. I felt the knot tighten even more. I knew something was going to happen...but I wasn't sure what yet.
~~~~~~~~~
Over the course of the week Hobson made sure that Reaver and I were seen in the public eye. We had gone to a tailor in Bowerstone to get fitted for our outfits. As I walked with Reaver, people were pointing and talking with one another, gossip would soon spread. We walked into the shop, greeting the tailor.
“Your Majesty, it is an honor to make your dress.” He said taking my hand and shaking it. I gave him a small smile, followed by a nod as he released my hand. Reaver tapped his cane looking over the man, he seemed slightly annoyed. “Anyways, we should get work, let's start with colors, shall we?” He said offering Reaver and I a seat.
We sat down and looked at him, as he pulled out a notepad.
“For color, I was thinking of a royal purple.” I replied to his question. He nodded and glanced at Reaver
“What about you Reaver?” He questioned. Reaver looked at the man then at me before looking back at the man.
“Crimson.” he said as that smirk formed across his face. I rolled my eyes, turning my attention back to the tailor. He quickly wrote down the colors we had suggested.
“Alright, what sort of style are you wanting at this party?” I looked at Reaver, he had better taste in style than I did. I usually just wore my royal attire and if I wasn't in my royal attire it's because I was sleeping. Reaver let out a small huff, catching onto the fact I didn't know anything about fashion.
“Slim suit and a royal style dress with lace sleeves, forming up the neck, hugging it slightly.” He described as the tailor quickly wrote it down.
“I see I have the perfect idea.” He said happily as he quickly sketched something up. Once he was finished he showed us the design he had made. I let out a sigh as I looked over the designs. The dress was gorgeous, and that was just a sketch. Reaver looked over them as well.
“If her Majesty approves.” Reaver said, brushing the man off. The tailor turned to me awaiting an answer.
“It's beautiful.” I smiled. He nodded and set his notepad on the desk.
“Now we really do need to choose a color, you have seen the designs, so royal purples, her Majesty request, or crimson, suggest by Reaver?” I imagined the dress in both colors, I knew both colors looked good with my complexion. I glanced at Reaver, he wore white and black mainly so seeing him in any color would be strange. However royal purple seemed to clash with his skin tone.
“I choose the crimson, it will look best on both of us.” I said after giving it some thought. The tailor nodded and crossed out royal purple on his board.
“All I need now are measurements, if you'll both follow me to the back room.” He stood up, pulling a tape measure out of his desk. Reaver and I stood up as well, following the man. The back room had a changing room, and a small pedestal.
“To get accurate measurements I will need you to take off your attire. Leave your undergarments on please. I've had one too many incidents.” He said in a slightly aggravated tone. I nodded and looked back at Reaver. He glanced at me that smirk creasing his lips as he took his top hat off.
“I suppose we should follow what the professional has said.” He slid his top coat off and hung it on a hanger attached to the wall. I turned away, not wanting to face Reaver. I began to undo my royal suit, hanging it up in a similar hanger. I felt embarrassed as I stood there in my underwear. Instinctively I brought my arms up, covering myself. Reaver let out a slight chuckle. I turned towards him. His arms were folded across his chest, he stood there, awfully comfortable with being this naked around another person. The tailor cleared his throat, breaking the awkward silence.
“Your Majesty, if you would stand on this pedestal please.” I snapped my head to the tailor and nodded, muttering ‘yeah’. I moved over to the podium, standing on it. The tailor got to work getting my measurements. I could feel Reaver's eyes staring at me, burning a hole in the back of my head. The tailor was quick with his measurements and went over taking note of them. “You're welcome to step down now your Majesty.” I nodded and stepped down going back over to my clothes wanting to get them back on as soon as possible. Reaver was now up on the podium, getting his measurements. Reaver was rather fit, his normal attire usually hid the fact. He seemed to have a few scars across his back. In fact he had a large gash shaped scar down his back. I wonder what happened? I said to myself. Reaver glanced over at me, smirking once again.
“I am starting to feel as though you actually do see something of interest my Majesty.” He said coily. I snapped back to the real world and looked away, I did my shirt up and stayed facing the wall for a moment. I could feel the blush rush across my cheeks.
I pulled myself together and turned to face Reaver and the tailor. The tailor was taking note of Reaver's measurements, Reaver was getting back into his own clothing, making eye contact with me. I backed up a bit. His eyes had me lost for a brief moment. There were so many secrets behind those eyes.
I quickly looked down at the floor. I was a Hero and a Queen, and yet here I was getting flustered with Mr. Industry himself. Perhaps it was the pressure I was feeling, I need to make sure the moral of the kingdom is high, that last thing I want to be is a tyrant like my older brother.
“Your Majesty, now that I have your measurements, I can begin working on the outfits. I will have the attire done by Friday.” he smiled as he led us back out into the main part of the building. I thanked the tailor and gave him a tip. Reaver held the door open as he stepped out of the building. He glanced down at me.
“It would appear we have some time to spare before we have to head back to the castle.” He offered me his arm, “Shall we do some shopping?” He questioned.
I glanced up at him, than at his arm.
“We really should get back.” I said looking away.
“You've gotten soft my Majesty, what happened to the young woman wanting to start a rebellion?” He asked. I shot a glare at him.
“You act like being a Queen is easy.” I spat. Reaver just chuckled.
“Just be a little rebellious today my Majesty, besides the more we were seen together, the better view people have on you.” I let out a growl, taking his arm. He looked down at me, smirking.
“Just walk Reaver “ I ordered. He shrugged as a reply and led me around the town.
Chapter 3: That Man...
Chapter Text
It was Friday night. We had one final outfit fitting before the big party. I stared at the curtain, the only thing separating me from Reaver. I took a deep breath and pulled the curtain aside, stepping out of the cramped dressing room. Both the Tailor and Reaver looked me over. Reaver did his usual head tilt followed by his ridiculous smirk.
“I must say my Majesty, you look stunning in crimson.” Reaver purred. I felt my stomach tighten, as blush stung my cheeks.
“Shut up Reaver.” I scolded, turning my attention to the Tailor.
“It's beautiful.” I commented giving the Tailor a nod.
“I'm glad your Majesty!” He proclaimed as he turned to Reaver handing him the matching suit. Reaver took the suit and walked to the dressing room, brushing past me.
I waited outside the dressing room with the Tailor, Reaver was changing into his suit. Reaver looked over himself, he was enjoying this game that the queen and himself were playing. He fixed the cuffs of the suit, before straightening it out. He pulled the curtain and stepped out of the dressing room.
I watched as Reaver pulled the curtains back. My eyes widened a bit, as I looked him over. He looked amazing, the crimson enhancing his natural features. He rested his hand on his hip.
“I must say My Majesty, you have good taste.” I straightened myself out and nodded.
“Thank you.”
“How do they fit?” The Tailor asked. I glanced at Reaver, before looking back at the Tailor.
“My dress fits perfectly.” Reaver shifted his stance.
“The cuffs could be a bit longer.” he suggested.
The Tailor nodded,
“Very well, I will make the adjustments.” Reaver and I both changed back into our normal attire. The Tailor boxed up my dress, handing it to me. I thanked the man and took the box, leaving the store with Reaver. We made our way to the castle, not speaking to each other the entire walk. Reaver followed me to the door of my bedroom, I turned to face him, my mind running a million miles per hour.
“Reaver…” I started, looking at him, he was standing on one of the lower steps, leaning against his cane. I looked him straight in the eyes, his eyes held so much mystery.
“I...I have enjoyed spending the week with you.” I admitted. Reaver raised a brow at me.
“You sure have a funny way of showing it My Majesty.” He said in a sarcastic tone. I felt my face heat up.
“I...Thank you for interrupting the luncheon. I would have been bored with all those men.” I tapped the box, glancing at the wall momentarily.
“Like I said before, I lost my invitation. That's why I was late.” He chuckled, taking a step towards me.
I looked at him as he got closer. My face was burning, as if the Auroran sun was beating down on me. Reaver continued to move towards me. I instinctively backed up, leading him into the bedroom. Once inside the room, Reaver closed the large door behind him. I had stopped in between the bed and the doorway. Before I knew it he was standing right in front of me. I held the box to my chest, trying to calm my rapid heart beat.
“Are you alright My Majesty?” He muttered. I glanced up at him, unable to think straight.
“Kiss me.” Fluttering off my tongue, I quickly looked away from Reaver, embarrassed with myself. I felt Reaver gently grab my chin pulling my face upwards, forcing me to make eye contact.
“Who would I be if I denied the queen~” he purred as he leaned down kissing me.
~~~~~~~~~
I sat in front of my vanity. The maids were hustling and bustling to get my hair and makeup done. My dress was currently being worn by a mannequin, in the changing corner of my room. One of the maids quickly powdered my face giving me a soft glow. I let out a cough, fanning away the powder.
“Sorry your Majesty.” She quickly apologized.
“No, no, you're fine it was just unexpected.” I chuckled. She let out a soft giggle and went to help with my hair.
My hair was done up in a messy braid that laid against my right shoulder, my crown sat atop my head. My eyes were shadowed with a deep black eye powder, fading out into a cream color. Some paint had been applied above my eyelashes, flicking out into a point. My lips are what really caught my attention. They were a deep scarlet, not quite as dark as my dress, but still dark enough to match. As I glanced over myself, I realized how much I looked like my mother, the Hero Queen.
A knock came to my chamber door, pulling me out of my memories.
“You may enter.” I declared. The door knob turned as the door was pushed open. Reaver stood there in his crimson suit, his hair was combed differently and he wasn't wearing a hat of any sort. I also noticed that the black heart on his cheek had changed to red.
“You're early.” I chuckled as I looked at myself in the mirror. “I was expecting you to be late, as per usual.” I toyed with my braid, pulling some of the hair out, letting it flow naturally.
“Well I figured since I was late to the luncheon, I should be early for the most important party in Albion.” He bantered back as he stepped into the room. I rested my hands on the vanity before pushing myself up. I centered my balance, trying to remember how to walk in heels. Ever since I started the rebellion I had been wearing boots, even my royal attire was adorned with boots.
“We should get to the party.” I said as I walked over, standing in front of Reaver. He tilted his and smirked.
“We should.” He said offering me his arm. I linked my arm with his as we made our way to the ballroom. We stood outside the ballroom as Hobson had gone in, clearing his throat.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to thank you all for coming tonight, as well all know, a year ago the Queen banished the evil called The Crawler. Though her victory did not go out in vain. We lost a dear member of society, Sir Walter Beck.” Hearing him talk about The Crawler and Walter made my heart hurt, I tightened my grip on Reavers arm. He noticed the change in my body language, glancing down at me. Hobson continued with his little speech. “Aside from the tragedy and trauma that was caused to the kingdom, we have prevailed and are now entering an era of peace.” He grabbed a glass from one of the waitresses, raising it to the ceiling. “To the Hero Queen!” He yelled, followed by a roar of people cheering and raising their glass.
That was our queue to walk into the ballroom. Reaver lead me with elegant strides, smiling at people as they continued to cheer. I forced a smile on my face, waving at my people. Reaver had swiped a glass of wine and rose it to the air, looking down at me.
“To the Hero Queen.” He uttered before sipping his wine. I knew this night was going to be long, I was unsure of how much of this I could handle.
The party had been going on for several hours now. I had mingled with my people, getting input on where I could improve. As I was talking with someone I heard a voice ring loud and clear in the crowd. I glanced over towards the voice, smiling happily.
“Ben!” I exclaimed as I walked over to him, giving him a hug. He hugged me back and let out a chuckle.
“Feels like it's been forever your Majesty.” He said softly punching my arm. I giggled and punched him back.
“You can call me Jay, Ben. In fact I order you to call me Jay.” I joked. Ben let out a laugh, I couldn't help but laugh with him. “How are things in Industrial?” I asked, looking at Ben for answers. He chuckled softly.
“Honestly, you'd have better luck getting that information out of Page.” He said glancing over at the buffet fable. Page was standing there in a white dress. Well it wasn't quite a dress, more like a suit top with a long train and some nice white trousers. She was wearing some black boots, tying the ensemble together. Her hair was out of its usual point tail, and hung loosely against her shoulders. She noticed me looking at her, she smiled and walked over to Ben and I.
“You look amazing, your Majesty.” She said, tapping the glass of wine with her finger tips. “Royalty does suit you.” She said looking me over. I blushed slightly and looked down at myself.
“I'll be honest I wish I was wearing my royal attire right now, these heels are killing my feet.” Page let out a laugh as she glanced over at Ben. I looked between the two of them.
“So who are your lucky dates?” I questioned, breaking the silence between the three of us. Ben looked at me then to Page.
“You see Page couldn't find a plus one. So I offered my services. She was resentful at first, but after plenty of pestering she finally agreed. Though there are ground rules. We're strictly here as a business partnership, nothing more.” Page rolled her eyes.
“I had a plus one you just managed to scare him off with your constant begging.” She chuckled as she returned her gaze to me. “Trust me, Ben was not my first choice.” I let out a girlish giggle.
“Well I'm glad to see you two get along for once.” I realized that I hadn't seen Reaver in quite a while, I glanced around the ballroom looking for him. At this moment I wish he was wearing a dumb top hat.
“You seem distressed My Majesty.” A voice said from behind me. I turned quickly looking at Reaver, he had two glasses of wine in his hands. “I turn my back to get you a drink and you wander off. Rather rude, don't you think.” He said handing me a glass. I took the wine and tapped the rim lightly. Reaver glanced over at Page and Ben. “Well if it isn't Ben and Page, still squabbling like an old married couple, I'm safe to presume?” Page’s face turned into disgust as Reaver came over, they had opposing morals, thus making it so that they didn't get along. Ben scoffed a bit as he crossed his arms over his chest. I turned to face my comrades.
“I came to the ball with Reaver..” I paused, “He's my plus one.” I said as I hesitantly sipped my drink.
“Well.” Page spoke up, resting her hands on her hips. “At least being here with him is good for the people's morale.” Ben nodded in agreement.
“I suppose we should let you go, your Majesty. I'm sure you have a mountain of people who want to talk to you.” Ben commented as he looked at Page.
“Yes, it was nice seeing you, your Majesty.” Page said as she linked arms with Ben.
“We'll see you later then.” Ben said as he led Page towards the lounge area. I turned to face Reaver, a hint of anger in body “Did you really have to insult my friends?” I asked. He looked at me from the rim of the wine glass, before pulling it away from his lips.
“My apologizes, My Majesty. It was but a simple question, surely you were wondering about it too.” I tightened my grip on my glass, gritting my teeth. Next thing I knew I heard a shatter and felt the sting of a fresh wound. I glanced at my hand realizing I had shattered my wine glass. I held my hand closed, stopping the blood from dipping out of my hand.
“Oh my. We should get that cleaned up.” Reaver sighed as he took my arm, leading me to one of the washrooms.
Once inside the washroom, Reaver ran my hand under cold water. I hissed as the water hit my hand, sending a small wave of pain over my body. Reaver had pryde my hand open to remove any glass that may be embedded in my skin. “You need to be more careful My Majesty.” He said as he cleaned the wound. I glanced at him, utterly confused by him helping take care of my wound. Last time we were at a party he tried to kill me with different creatures using his god awful Wheel of Misfortune.
“Why are you doing this?” I questioned. Reaver didn't look up from my hand, nor did he give me an answer. I huffed and leaned against the wall. “Fine, don’t answer me.” I grumbled. He turned the water off, and pulled the handkerchief out of his breast pocket. He started to wrap it around my hand, bandaging my wound. His touch was soft, gentle, as if he almost cared. I squirmed a bit, I knew there was a reason behind him: crashing the luncheon, making sure we spent more time together, always in the public's eye. There was a reason behind everything he was doing, manipulating all the way down to the shade of the fabric.
I pulled myself out of my thoughts and looked at him. “Reaver….” I muttered. This caught his attention as he glanced up from my now bandaged hand.
“My Majesty?” He questioned. I bit my tongue, even that phrase, that damn phrase, it was planned.
“Why...why are you doing this?” I leaned into him, leaving us just lips apart. “You're known to be one of the most evil men through Albion. Yet, here you are, bandaging the Queen's wound.” I purred, “ What happened to that heartless man?” I paused for a moment to capture the look on his face. He glanced at me, his smirk sitting on his face.
“My Majesty, I don't need a reason to suddenly be so called ‘nice’. I am but a chaperone who's date ended up injured. I'm reacting as a normal person, neither truly evil or truly good.” he replied. I pulled away from him, glancing at the wall.
“Just a normal human…” fluttered off my lips.
Chapter 4: Reaver ♡
Chapter Text
I laid in my bed, the sunlight shining through my large windows, I looked at my bandaged hand, the night Reaver showed some emotion, showed some of who he really was, deep down behind those mysterious eyes. I glanced at the handkerchief, it laid messily on my night table. I had the maids wash it, and bandage my hand properly. I meant to return it to Reaver, but then that would mean finding him.
After the night of the ball he had walked me to my chambers. We had made small talk while walking, both of us influenced by the alcohol. Our arms were linked as we stumbled through the halls of the palace.
“Did you hear about that one quest I had to do, back in my rebellious days, a farmer's chicken had gotten out.” I laughed, unable to finish telling my story. Reaver let out a small laugh.
“I remember hearing about that.” he looked up at the door separating us for the night.
He stopped in his tracks, causing me to stumble, I really hated heels.
“What's wrong?” I asked looking over him. He pushed me up into the wall, his hands grabbing my hips. He had pressed his lips hard against my own, I remembered the heat between us. I also remember the emptiness I felt when he pulled away. I gave him a confused look, he only replied with a saddened face.
“I’m leaving. Tonight, I don't belong in Albion.” I stuttered over my words, a rush of emotions overwhelming me.
“No… you do belong, you helped rebuild it. No matter what choice I made.” I rested my hands on his shoulders. “Please don't go, I don't want to be alone…”
I turned away from the handkerchief, pulling myself back to reality, just in time for the maids to come rushing in. I sat up in my bed and looked over them as they scrambled, each one working at a different station. I made my way over to the washroom, my clothing being removed by the maids as I climbed into the bath. Two of them got to work washing my body and hair, once I was washed they dried me off and dressed me in a black robe.
I went through each station, each of them doing something to start my day. It had become routine. I mindlessly made my way to the throne room, I’m sure Hobson had so much to talk about. I took my place on the throne, looking at Hobson.
“What’s on the Royal Agenda?” I questioned. He shuffled through a few papers, pulling out a letter.
“It's from Master Reaver. It seems to be of the utmost importance.”
I shifted in my chair, motioning for him to give me the letter. He handed me the letter, shifting through the rest of the paperwork. I tore open the letter, wanting to know where he was. I skimmed over the letter, trying to find a clue of any sort. I calmed my racing mind and took a step back. I carefully read through the letter.
“Meet me in Mistpeak. There's an old cabin hidden away. Make it past the balverines and we'll talk.
Reaver ♡”
I laid against the throne, crumpling the letter.
“Hobson, cancel all my plans. I need to go on an adventure, I'm feeling cooped up.” I stood up, storming out of the throne room. I made my way to my chambers, tearing off my royal attire. I walked into my closet looking over my clothes.
I took the royal princess suit corset, and the highway woman pants. I threw my pants on, and followed up with my corset, the outfits changed colors to represent my alignment. I grabbed my boots, trying to get them on me as fast as I could. Once I had the stripper boots on I grabbed my gauntlets and weapons. I hurried out of my chambers, avoiding everyone in the hallways. Once I was out of the castle doors I felt myself picking up a jog, a smile creasing my lips.
~~~~~~~~~
I had just cleared out the last balverine. My chest was heaving as I put my sword away, I was out of practice. I walked up the small mountain path, hugging myself because I was cold. I glanced up from the ground and saw what he had talked about in his letter. Sure enough there was a cabin hidden in Mistpeak. I picked up my pace as I moved towards the cabin door. I could see that a fire was lit, making the inside much more desirable.
I reached the door and knocked. My stomach tightened as the door unlocked, revealing Reaver himself. I stared up at him before looking around.
“May I come in?” I asked, looking back at Reaver. He did his normal head tilt and backed away from the door. I followed him inside, craving the warmth of the fire. With the door closed I slowly made my way towards the fire, keeping an eye on Reaver.
“I must be honest your Majesty, I didn't expect you to actually come.” he said as he took a seat in one of the arm chairs by the fire. I followed suit, taking a seat in the chair opposite of him.
“It would be bad for morale if I didn't aid a person in need.” I grumbled, leaning towards the fire, trying to regain feeling in my body. Reaver leaned back in the chair, and nodded.
“Or maybe you just wanted to see me.” He said coily. My stomach tightened even more as I let out a frustrated sigh. I brought a hand to the rim of my boot, pulling out the handkerchief, I looked at him and gestured for him to take it back.
“I had the maids wash it for you. I wanted to return it to you, but you left so I just held onto it knowing I'd see you again. Though I expected that to be at my funeral.” Reaver chuckled as he smirked.
“My my, your Majesty. You shouldn't hold onto a drunken night, people act differently and not like themselves.” He tapped the arm of the chair. “I've thrown enough parties to have this knowledge, of course.”
I tightened my grip on the handkerchief.
“Just take the stupid thing.” I growled. He indulged and grabbed the handkerchief, resting it on the arm of the chair.
“Scared to have something remind you of your past mistakes?” he questioned. I snapped my head at him.
“No. I have plenty of mistakes haunting me. Promises I couldn't keep. Allies lost, my people killed, along with my friends!” I screamed. I quickly stood up, looking down at him.
He sighed and stood up, now looking down on me. I looked over him, he still looked young. Along with his young look, I noticed that the heart on his cheek was still red. I felt myself softened, he was pushing my buttons, and I was responding exactly as he expected. I paused for a moment and looked down at his chest. My next action was purely animal instinct. I threw Reaver up against the wall, kissing him harshly. After a moment I pulled away, nearly gasping for breath.
Reaver stared down at me, his face shocked but amused.
“My Majesty~” he purred. I felt shivers go across my spine, my stomach tightening into an even tighter knot. His hands rested on my hips, his eyes wandering my body. I lessened my grip on his shirt, slumping a bit where I stood. Reaver pulled me close, supporting most of my weight. I leaned into him, I had missed him and he had missed me. I felt him kiss the top of my head.
I pushed myself off of him, backing away.
“Reaver..” I started, only for him to silence me with a kiss.
“We should stop pretending, My Majesty.” He whispered in my ear. This time my entire body shivered. “We want one another and that lust we have for each other, being pent up like this? Why, I believe it's bad for your health.” He wrapped his arms back around my body pressing himself against me. I broke. I melted into him, wrapping my arms around his neck. I wanted to be with him.
Chapter Text
The year went by quickly. My Kingdom had entered a time of peace, my royal duties had also calmed down because of it. I sat in the throne room, looking at Hobson as he went over the few duties I had to do today.
“Your presence is also requested in Bowerstone. Somebody named Marcus would like to speak with you. He asks you to meet in on the bridge.” I nodded
“Did he say what he needed me for?” I asked. Hobson shook his head.
“No, but I do know that he is an adventurer. He has quite a bit of renown.” I nodded and sat back in my chair.
“Very well. I'm bringing my weapons, I don't trust some adventurers.”
“Understandable, your majesty. “ he said as he handed me the scroll. “I do hope you have a pleasant day.” I took the scroll and nodded as I stood up.
“I hope so too.”
I made my way out of the throne room, my faithful companion joining me at my side. I looked down at him and smiled as I went to my chambers to grab my weapons. Once I had my weapons I made my way to Bowerstone. Cerberus found some treasure along our way to Bowerstone, which I dug up and put in my hip pouch. As we walked through the town, people were going about their daily lives. The commotion over the new Queen was starting to die down, which was nice, I enjoyed blending in with people.
As I walked onto the bridge I saw a man, a bit taller then the average man. He dressed in almost all black, but had sandy blonde hair, I approached him.
“Are you Marcus?” I questioned. He turned to me and looked me over.
“Ah. You must be The Queen, I did not expect you to actually show up.” He chuckled as he looked down at me. I let out a soft chuckle.
“I was informed that you're an Adventurer, so what brings you to Albion?”
“Work of course. But I had something to ask of you.” He replied. I tilted my head, a bit of confusion crossing my face.
“Ask away.”
“I was wondering if I could possibly stay at the palace during my visit. I'll be honest, I'm a bit low on gold, which is why I am asking.” He nervously rubbed the back of his neck. I folded my arms across my chest and looked down at Cerberus.
“I suppose that can be arranged. However I will have guards watching you 24/7. I've already had one too many assassins on my ass before.” Marcus laughed and nodded.
“That seems fair, your Majesty.” he stated. I unfolded my arms and let out a soft chuckle.
“C’mon, I lead you to the castle.” I took his hand, Cerberus jumping to my side as I lead Marcus back to the castle.
~~~~~~~~~
Marcus had been at the castle for about a week. I had grown accustomed to his
company. We had gotten close, telling each other about our lives, comparing them to one another. It was nice having someone to talk to and spend the day with. I looked over at Marcus as he and Hobson conversed, he was an attractive man. Strong, chiseled, a bit scuffed up, It made me think of myself almost. We both had vastly different pasts, and our scars showed for it.
“Master Reaver will be stopping by today your Majesty.” Hobsons voice chimed from the conversation. I shot up a bit.
“He is?” I questioned. Hobson nodded and smiled.
“He has something for you.” I nodded.
“Very well then, will you have servants prep dinner? I feel it's only expected of us, we haven't seen Master Reaver in about a year.” I lied through my teeth. I felt the tension start to rise in my body. “Please excuse me, I need to freshen up.” I said as I stood up and made my way to the nearest washroom.
I stood in the washroom, running the water. I stared down at the sink, before getting my hands wet and splashing my face. My brain was running through my memories. The night in Mistpeak, what Reaver had said to me. I was overwhelmed with my emotions, realizing quickly that Marcus was growing on me. I turned off the sink and sighed. “I’m a mess.” I chuckled as I stood up, straightening myself out.
I walked out of the washroom and huffed, making my way back to Marcus and Hobson. They both had gone back to talking with one another, barely looking at me as I walked back in.
“Hobson, did you talk to the servants?” I questioned. He turned to me and quickly got up.
“Oh, not yet your Majesty, I'll be right on that.” He said as he left the room to go talk to the kitchen staff.
I rolled my eyes , letting out a chuckle, looking over at Marcus.
“Don't tell Hobson this but I still prefer Jasper over him.” Marcus gave me a soft smile.
“Jasper's the one looking over the sanctuary, correct?” He asked I nodded as I picked at the skin around my nails.
“Jasper and Walter both raised me after my mother died.” I commented, still picking at my skin.
“What about your brother?” Marcus leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.
“Logan?” I chuckled “He was immediately put on the throne. The advisers didn't care that he was only 16 years old.” I paused “With all the things he had to do, he never really had time for me. That's probably why he still saw me as a child even after my 20th birthday. “ I resumed picking at the skin around my fingers.
Marcus nodded, obviously not wanting to pry anything out of me. I let out a sigh and shifted in my chair. “What about you? Have any parents, siblings? Weird uncle's perhaps?” He let out a chuckle and shook his head.
“No weird uncle's. My parents are both dead, and I had a sister. She married off to some merchant and it has been a while since I've seen her.” He replied, glancing at his hands.
I nodded. It had been a year since my brother disappeared, even if he was rude and I low key hated him, I still missed him. He was the only family I had left.
“That's unfortunate.” I replied tapping the arms of the chair. Hobson strolled back into the room, clipboard and pen in hand.
“Your Majesty, the chef is wondering what you would like to have this evening.” I shifted my gaze from Marcus to Hobson.
“Some roast duck with fresh greens and our finest wine.” I ordered. Hobson quickly wrote it down and nodded.
“Splendid choice your Majesty, I will let the chef know.”
~~~~~~~~~
It had gotten late in the day, and I knew Reaver would be showing up at any moment. I was in my quarters, getting ready for dinner. I had changed out of my traveling clothes and put on some fancier attire. I looked at myself in the vanity mirror, I had gotten older without even realizing. I went from a small confused girl, to a grown woman, a Queen nonetheless. I looked away from the mirror and down at Cerberus, his ears perked up as I looked over him.
"What do you think?" I asked him, showing off my outfit. He jumped up and gave me a happy bark. I chuckled and scratched his head. "I like it too, it's comfortable, no itchy corsets."
One of the maids knocked on my door, letting me know that Reaver had arrived and they were waiting for me in the dining hall. "Very well, I will be there in a moment." I replied as the maid scurried off to perform the rest of her duties. I gave Cerberus one more pat, and walked out of my room.
Once I entered the dining room, I looked at Marcus. He had cleaned up nicely, still sticking to his black color scheme. I smiled at him, when I heard Reaver clear his throat.
"Hello Reaver, long time no see." I said as I sat down at the head of the table.
"Likewise, My Majesty." He said with a smirk. I felt my stomach tighten, as the servants walked in with dinner. Using them as a distraction, I happily explained what was for dinner.
As dinner was served and we all began to eat, I looked over at Reaver and Marcus. Reaver was giving Marcus a bit of a death glare.
"So Reaver, where have you been? What have you been up to?" I asked quickly, breaking the silence of the dinner. Reaver turned his attention to me before looking down at his plate.
"Ah, my usual Tomfoolery, opened a business in Aurora, helped give people jobs out there." He said as he looked at Marcus. "My Majesty, you have yet to introduce us. Rather rude of you if you ask me." He said coily. Marcus coughed a bit, taking a sip of his wine.
"I'm Marcus, it's a pleasure to meet you Reaver." He said with a smile. Reaver looked at him as he paused his eating.
"Likewise, and how do you two know each other?" He asked pointing his fork at Marcus and I. I cleaned my face up with the napkin as I cleared my throat.
"Marcus is an Adventurer, he asked me if I had any work for him. He's been staying with me for the past couple weeks." I explained. Reaver nodded and poked at his food.
"Sounds like you've been having a grand time." he said as he resumed eating. Marcus glanced over at me, then back at Reaver.
"I'm leaving here in a couple of days, Your Majesty. I have found some work in another region. My friends who are magicians need a bodyguard on their travels." Marcus spoke up as he turned his attention back to me. I gave him a nod.
"Very well. I will get you your payment, the morning you leave then." I felt my heart sink a bit. Marcus was the only friend I had made in over a year. I was sad to see him going so soon, but that is the way of life. People leave and do their own things, live their own lives. A smirk crossed Reaver's face as Marcus said he was leaving soon. I gave him a small glare but continued to eat my dinner.
Chapter Text
Marcus left shortly after Reaver arrived. I bid my new found friend goodbye, wishing him safe luck on his next adventure. Another year was rounding its way in. The annual ball would be held yet again. Hobson was standing with me in the throne room.
He was going over the annual ball, and what theme we should choose this time. Reaver was leaning against a pillar as Hobson spoke. He rolled his eyes as the themes were discussed.
"My Majesty." He cut in, causing Hobson to cease speaking. "The ball is not for another month or two. Why are you worrying about it now?" I held back the laughter that bubbled up in my stomach. Hobson turned to Reaver, giving him the stink eye.
"Your Majesty, it's much easier to plan in advance. We need to know our budget, and know when to raise taxes to pay for it." He said with Pride. I looked between the two of them.
"Hobson’s right Reaver." I said with a sigh. "The thing I'm worried about is that I'm going to need to find another date for the ball. It was hell last time." Reavers brow rose as he looked at me.
"If it wasn't for my social standing, I wouldn't have been causing a scene when I arrived late to the luncheon." He smirked and looked at Hobson. I swear if my eyes could roll any further I'd be able to see my brain.
"Yes, that's true, however." I paused and looked at the ground. Hobson cleared his throat.
"Your Majesty, Master Reaver was your date last ball. It wouldn't be strange to show up with him once again." I moved my gaze to Hobson, then Reaver.
"I'm aware of that. But what if...what if the people don't like it as much as they did last time. Hell, Page and Ben both left after we arrived." Hobson huffed and looked between Reaver and I. You could almost see the wheels turning in his head, before he looked at me with a sly face.
"You know what the people want?" He paused as he raised a finger at me. "They want a King."
Reaver and I both raised our brow. Reaver shuffled his feet as he adjusted his stance.
"What are you implying old man?"
"A wedding, invite all of Albion! Send out the news, let the people know it will be a secret event at the ball. That will spark their curiosity and keep things different Your Majesty. Show that you still have that rebel spunk." He cheered. I looked at Reaver.
"Is...is he suggesting we get married?" I asked, both Hobson and Reaver.
"Yes!" He said with glee. "Everyone noticed how you two shined as a couple. It's been a year, nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. I've known strangers who got married after three days of knowing each other." He rubbed his hands together. "It's been a long year Your Majesty. Nobody knows what goes on in your personal life." Reaver cocked his head with a smirk.
"I do have to say, we have gotten close, My Majesty." He said as he raised a brow. I felt my face flush. This was insane. I looked down at my clasped hands, pondering the actuality of me doing a stunt like that.
"Does there have to be a public proposal?" I questioned. Hobson chuckled and glanced between us.
"No, that would ruin the surprise of it all." I lifted my head up and chewed on my inner cheek.
"Why not." I said.
Reaver stumbled a bit, as I said yes to the idea.
"My Majesty…" Reaver stuttered. I looked up at him.
"Not only would it entertain the people, it will also put you at the highest of social standings." He shifted his stance as he looked around. I could tell he was trying to process everything that had been said. Like a false alarm, Reaver went back to his usual smirking self.
"Well then." he straightened his posture as he made his way over to me, taking my hand in his as he placed a kiss upon me. I felt shivers run up my spine as he glanced up after kissing my hand. "It's a date, my lovely fiance."
~~~~~~~~~
The following months consisted of not only Annual Ball planning, but also wedding planning. Between both, I was being bombarded with questions, prices, ideas and much more. The amount of stress that had taken over was torture. I lost sleep, kept myself alert and aware. Around every corner I prepared to be face to face with the more questions, wanting more answers.
I had retreated to the only hiding spot where no one would bother me, my mother's tomb. I leaned against the statue between the tombs, last time I came down here I was leading a revolution. It has been two years since I've visited. I used to come down here and talk to my mother about being a hero, what I didn't think would happen was that I actually would become one.
“And now I'm the Queen of Albion.” I said to the damp underground air. I shuffled my feet, kicking the loose gravel. “I hope I've made you proud.” I pushed myself off the cold stone. I made my way to the entrance of the tomb. Placing my hand upon the door I turned to face my mother. “I hope I’m doing what's right for your people.”
~~~~~~~~~
It was a week before the Annual Ball.The hustle and bustle of the Ball planning as well as the secret wedding planning had kept Reaver and I both busy, hardly getting a chance to even speak about the marriage. However we finally had a night to ourselves. The ball planning was done, as was the wedding planning. Reaver and I sat across from each other in the cabin. The fire illuminating the room.
Reaver stared at the floor, he seemed lost in thought, but I didn't know what. I sighed and sipped on the wine we had gotten as a gift from Hobson. He broke the staring contest with the floor and looked at me.
"What?" I questioned. He replied with a sigh of his own. His mouth opened to only stutter quietly.
"We're actually going to be married. In front of all of Albion." His face quickly shifted from shock, back to his usual smirk. "Quite the stunt isn't it?"
I chewed on my cheek as I looked at him. Setting my glass down I stood up, never breaking eye contact with Reaver. I stood in front of him, looking down on him. He glanced back at me that smirk still stuck on his face. I leaned down, using the chair as support as I moved closer to his ear.
"It doesn't have to be just a stunt, what was the wording you used? The lust we have for each other, being pent up like this? I believe it's bad for you?" He let out a small growl as he tightened his hands on the arm rest.
"I do believe it was something like that." He turned to face me, leaving our lips centimeters apart. I felt my lip tremble as we stayed there silently. Reaver quickly moved, clasping his hand behind my head, pulling me as close to him as he crashed his lips against mine.
My knees weakened instantly as he pulled me, making me straddle his lap. His hands moved from the back of my head to my shoulders, still kissing me hungrily. My hands craved to touch his flesh, moving eagerly about his body. His hands moved so calmly as he gripped my hips tightly, pulling away from the kiss. My chest heaved as I tried to catch my breath.
"My Majesty…" he panted.
I laid my head against his, I needed to feel him. Reaver gave my hips another squeeze, he then gripped my rear end and picked me up, carrying me to the wall, where he returned to his hungry state.
His lips pressed against my skin, causing goosebumps to rise in response. He moved from my lips to my jawline and down to my neck. I laid my head back, closing my eyes as I gripped the back of his head, tugging as his hair a bit.
Another growl came from his throat as he bit my neck before sucking on my flesh. I arched into him, a groan escaping my lips. He pressed his hips hard against mine, making sure I could feel his hardening member through the cloth barriers of our clothing. I chewed on my lip as he continued to suck on my skin, his nails digging into my rear end. He pulled his mouth away from my neck to catch his own breath, looking at me before I pressed my lips against his.
The kiss was lustful, passion driven. It wasn't long before Reaver overruled the kiss, forcing his tongue past my lips as he craved to taste me. A combination of surprise and submission came over me as he moaned into the kiss. I knew Reaver had done this more times than I could probably ever count, but I was still surprised when we moved from the wall to the rug on the floor. Eagerly I wrapped my legs around his hips as he pushed down into me, almost desperately wanting the clothing out of the way.
The kissing disengaged as we both scrambled to tear the clothing off one another. Once the top layer of clothing was out of the way, I felt my face flush, causing red all the way down my chest. For some reason I felt inclined to cover my body, being overcome with a feeling of nervousness and embarrassment. Reaver let out a small chuckle.
"Everything alright My Majesty?" He questioned as he leaned back on his feet, sitting between my legs. My knees pressed into his sides as I reluctantly tried to close my legs.
"Y-yes. Just nervous. I've never done this before." I stuttered out as I turned my attention away from his face. Even without looking at him I could tell he had his usual smirk on his face.
"Really now?" He said in a bit of a baffled tone. I nodded quietly, keeping my gaze from him. I felt him move down and kiss my neck, nibbling on my ear lobe. "Don't worry My Majesty, I'll be as gentle as I can possibly withstand." He whispered as he resumed kissing my neck.
I felt myself shiver as his lips traveled across my skin, from neck to my collar bone, traversing down between my breasts and towards my stomach. My hands quickly jolted to his head as he kissed just about my underwear. He stopped and glanced up at me, our eyes meeting once again. I chewed on the inside of my cheeks as I cautiously loosened my grip on his hair. He flashed his smirk at me before adjusting his arm placement, allowing my legs to rest against his shoulders.
He returned to kissing my bare skin, pressing his lips against my inner thighs, working his way down. I closed my eyes, tilting my head back as I bit my bottom lip. He placed a kiss against my underwear the heat from his body causing a reaction from my own. He hands gripped the top of my underwear as he came up, taking them with him. The sudden coldest to my exposed sensitive flesh caused me to shiver, tensing up.
Reaver tossed my underwear aside, letting it join the rest of the clothing in the surrounding area. He smiled as he resumed the position he previously had, adding some warmth back to the area. Before I could readjust to the warmth he dove in, kissing and licking my lower lips, lapping up the liquids my body had produced. I curled up into him, a gasp and moan both rolling off my tongue. I gripped onto his hair again as he continued to devour my low region, dipping his tongue inside me he came up kissing and sucking on the sensitive nub just above my opening.
I threw myself back, another moan coming from me as I arched my hips up into him. He held my thighs tightly, making it so I couldn't squirm or get away from his ravenous attack. Moan after moan I felt my body heating up, a knot forming in my stomach as Reaver continued. He pulled away forming his usual smirk on his face.
"Are you about to cum My Majesty?" He questioned coily.
I felt a whimper escape my throat as I looked down at him. My brain was fuzzy as I nodded to reply to his question. He smiled as he leaned against my leg, his hot breath causing me to shiver. He slipped his hand away from my legs to my opening, slipping two fingers into me. I arched my hips again as he began to move his fingers about, my over sensitive flesh, begging for some sort of release.
"Reaver…" I managed to choke out.
"Hmm?" He replied, not looking up at me as he continued working me. I chewed on my lip as my eyes rolled back into my head.
"Stop, teasing me." I demanded. He scoffed and pulled away from me.
"You know, just because you're trying to boss me around, I think I will wait till our wedding night to fully deflower you, My Majesty."
Chapter Text
I sat in front of the vanity as the servants got to work making me over for the ball. I watched as they braided my hair and looped it around my head to the low, messy bun as the base of my skull. My hair looked loose and free yet was very structured and wasn't going to go anywhere for awhile. I peered at my dress as I sat on the mannequin in the corner of the room. It was a gorgeous dress, had the typical ball gown style, a low v-neck and mid arm length sleeves. It had been layered in sheer fabrics and a bit of lace. Instead of pure white, the dress was a creamy, almost champagne color. I could feel the butterflies dancing in my stomach. I was nervous about the first ball that we had and now this one. In my entire life I never thought that I would be marrying someone like Reaver.
They finished adding the small details to my hair and make up, such as the tuberose flowers scattered accordingly through my hair. I chuckled internally at the flower of choice for my hair. After my hair and makeup was done it was time to get into my gown. I stood up and gulped looking over the dress.
“Everything alright your majesty?” one of the servants asked. I looked at her and nodded.
“Yes, just nervous.” I sighed as I looked back at the gown.
“It's your wedding day. I don't think a single bride has ever not been nervous.” she replied as they started to disrobe me. I slithered out of the robe, after today I would be a married woman and the kingdom would have a new King. I stepped into the gown as the servants got to work doing up my dress. They made last minute adjustments, fixing small things here and there. Once in my dress I turned to the full body mirror and looked myself over. I had changed so much from when I first left the castle. I took a deep breath and slid into my heels. I still hate heels I thought to myself as the servants smiled at me. They each bared me a compliment before we walked to the door.
“Are you ready, your majesty?” I turned to the servant and nodded as they opened the door. Once in the hallway they led me to the ballroom. Once again I found myself at the entrance of the ballroom, only this time Jasper was there to greet me instead of Reaver. I smiled happily and quickened my pace wrapping Jasper in a much needed hug.
“Jasper! You made it!” I exclaimed excitedly. He let out a small chuckle.
“Jay, I wouldn't miss this for the world. Look how you've grown.” he paused and took my hands. “You look so much like your mother did on her wedding day.” he seemed sad, almost as if he was holding back tears. I smiled softly and looked at him.
“Do you think she’d be proud of me?” I asked. Jaspers smile returned to his face. “ She would be so proud, Walter as well. Though he never liked Reaver. If he makes you happy Jay, that is all that matters to me. That is all that should matter to you.” he gave my hands a pat before letting them go.
“Never in my days did I think my little sister would be marrying my advisor.” I turned to the door opposite of me to see Logan standing there. Overwhelmed with emotions I ran over to my brother and hugged him, trying my best to not ruin my makeup. Logan hugged me back just as tightly. “Hello little sister.” he proclaimed.
“Logan...I..where…” my brain was running a million miles and hour.
“Who else was supposed to give you away?” he replied with a small chuckle. I couldn't help but laugh a bit as I pulled away slightly.
“I'm glad you're here.” I said, finally able to get my brain going in one direction.
We parted our hug as I linked my arm with his.
“Shall we?” he asked. I took a deep breath and nodded. “There's no going back.” he teased. I elbowed him in the ribs softly.
“Let's get this wedding started already.” I said as Jasper nodded and opened the door, leading the way.
The ballroom was packed once again, people already dancing and drinking. Jasper met up with Hobson and nodded as Hobson cleared his throat.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, Her Royal Highness The Queen of Albion!” the crowd all stopped and turned to look at me, I couldn't tell if they were in awe because of me or the fact Logan was at my side. Logan and I both waved to the crowd as we made our entrance. My eyes darted around the ballroom as I watched the people in charge of the wedding started to get to work making changes to the ballroom. I had yet to see any sign of Reaver. My stomach twisted uncomfortably as we stood in the center of the crowd. People were awing over me and asking Logan where he had been. Hobson and Jasper joined the wedding decorators to help finish everything up.
Once they were finished Hobson cleared his throat once more. The townspeople turned to face him, noticing the priest and the out of the blue Reaver standing with him. Reaver was wearing a black suit similar to his white one he normally wears, his hair was slicked back and he looked radiant. I gulped as I felt my knees locked in place.
“The Queen has a special treat for you all, not only is this the annual ball but is also the day our beloved Queen will be wed.” The crowd quickly started to cheer and congratulate me. “Ladies and Gentlemen could you please clear a path for the lovely bride?” On command the towns folk moved out of the way, making a straight path from me to Reaver. Our eyes met and for the first time it seemed like Reaver was at a loss for words.
Logan leaned a bit towards me.
“It's time Jay.” he said as he nudged me. I nodded slightly and followed Logan as he led me down the makeshift asiel. As I walked I couldn't stop staring at Reaver, and he couldn't stop staring at me. Before I knew it we were at the priest. Logan smiled and turned to me, taking my hands in his.
“Well little sister, this is it.” he said as he pulled me closer placing a kiss upon my head. He gave my hands a squeeze before he grabbed Reavers hand and linked it with mine. Logan sighed a bit as he held our hands together. He gave Reaver a look, the same protective brother look he used to give to kids that picked on me as a child. “Treat her right.” he said quietly as he let our hands go. Reaver flashed his smug smirk and nodded before turning his attention to me.
The crowd quieted down before the Priest started his monologue. He went over the basic things of two people in love who wish to be together for eternity and such. Before I knew it we had gotten to the vows. Reaver and I both stiffened our postures as the Priest turned to Reaver. Reaver pulled out a silver ring from his waist coat and slid it upon my left hand ring finger.
“I, Reaver, take thee Jay, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; and I promise to be faithful to you until death parts us.” He looked at me, a genuine smile creasing his lips. The Priest then turned to me. I reached for the ring in the hidden pocket of my gown and placed it upon the same hand Reaver did to me.
“I, Jay, take thee Reaver, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; and I promise to be faithful to you until death parts us.”
“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.” the Priest said happily as he looked between us. Reaver moved one of his hands to my waist and pulled me close, dipping me down as he kissed me. I wrapped my arms around him to hold myself up as the crowd cheered happily.
After the kiss Reaver pulled me back onto my feet smiling at me as the party started back up. People made their way over to us, congratulating us on our marriage. We both thanked them before they made their way back to the ball. Reaver held my waist tightly as we stood there. I think he was having a hard time realizing that he too was now a married man.
"Well, how does it feel to be married?" A voice caught my attention as I looked over to see Ben and Page. I smiled at them and went over hugging them both. Reaver stayed where he was as a few guests continued to make small talk with him.
"It's strange. " I replied as I broke apart the hug with Ben and Page. I could tell Page was not very happy about it.
"I can imagine, when did you get so close to Reaver?" Page asked quietly. Ben nodded, they both seemed confused yet protective at the same time. I sighed as I looked over at Reaver.
"It's…well. If I'm honest, this is just for the best of the kingdom. Logan never had a queen or anyone at his side at balls. So I'm trying to improve the morale of Albion, by assuring them that there will be an heir to myself."
"Logan was also a tyrant." Ben growled as he looked at Reaver then back to me. I felt a ping of anger hit my system.
"Trust me, I didn't think that Reaver would be a good match but he has power and he has been working in the palace with my brother and myself. He knows how these things work." I replied in a reassuring tone. Page scoffed, placing her hands on her hips.
"Jay if there is one thing I know about Reaver it's that he doesn't care about human life. He'd rather have fame, power and wild sex parties then ever settle down." Page hissed.
I let out a small sigh as I felt a hand snake around my waist as it pulled me close to another human. I turned to see Reaver, smiling at me as he kissed my cheek.
"Hello Page and Ben, it's been too long." He chuckled. I felt myself instinctively lean into him as he held onto me.
"Not long enough." Page crossed her arms defensively, as Ben straightened himself up.
"You two here together once again?" He asked.
"No, we're here flying solo this time." Ben bit back. Reaver gave me a small squeeze. I could sense the annoyance in his body.
"I see. Well do enjoy yourselves. It is a ball and frankly I do wish for our guest to have fun tonight. It is a celebration of our marriage, and the two year anniversary of our lovely Jay and her Nobel rebels defeating The Crawler, so in a sense it's a celebration of you two as well." Reaver replied, his usual smug smirk returning to his face. I watched the wheels turn in both Page and Ben's heads.
"He has a point you know." I said quietly. For some reason I felt like I was betraying my friends. But I wasn't. This marriage to Reaver is what the kingdom needed. If anything they should be happy for me.
"I do hope you two find peace in this situation. You both know what Jay is capable of, should you try to do anything." Reaver replied, a bit of sarcasm ringing through his voice.
Page and Ben both brought their defenses down.
"Enjoy your party, your majesties." Page said as she turned on her heel and walked away. Ben quickly followed suit as they both moved towards the exit of the ballroom. I let out a small sigh as he slumped against Reaver.
"Give them some time." Reaver said quietly as he leaned down to my ear. "Not everyone is happy about this but they will all come around. You did what was best for the kingdom. Cleaned up industrial. Made an orphanage and homeless shelter. Poured your own money into saving the kingdom from The Crawler. It's about time you do what's best for you My Majesty. " he whispered. I turned around to face Reaver. He shifted his posture and looked at me.
"You're right. " I replied as I looked up at him. I offered him my hand. "Right now, dancing would make me very happy." I smirked at him as he chuckled.
"So demanding." He said as he took my hand and led me to the dance-floor.
~~~~~~~~~
Reaver and I were finally alone for the first time tonight. The annual ball and wedding had gone according to plan. Reaver and I were in the garden, walking along a hedged path. The only noises in the air were of the crickets, chirping away their lullabies. Once we reached the edge of the garden we stopped to look over the city.
"It's quite a lovely night." Reaver said, finally breaking the silence. I faced him then looked back out over the city.
"It really is." I said as I glanced up at the stars, the moon was full as it cast a silver glow across the gardens.
"It's strange that we're officially married now." Reaver said as he turned his back to the city, leaning on the stone railing. I raised a brow at him.
"Never in my days did I ever think I'd marry a Queen." He purred, flashing his usual smirk.
I smirked back at him and moved closer, leaning against him slightly. He quickly readjusted as his hands found their place on my hips. With my hands resting against his chest, I leaned in, closing my eyes a bit. Our breath was shallow, calm even. Yet both our hearts were pounding in our chests. I looked up at him, the moon casting a shadow over us.
Reaver looked me over as if trying to tell himself that everything that was happening was real. He picked one of the small flowers out of my hair, looking it over.
"Agave amica." He said before looking down at me. I opened my eyes and looked up at him. He brought the small flower to my nose, playfully booping it against me. "They symbolize love. Their fragrance is actually used in perfumes." He chuckled as he put the flower back in my hair. "They also symbolize wild pleasures or primordial passion." He said in an alluring tone.
I felt my face flush over as he gave me a look I had never seen before. He leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. The kiss was soft and romantic, very different from our past kisses which were usually driven by lust. He pulled away slightly before returning back to my lips deepening the kiss. I leaned into him more wrapping my arms around his neck as the kiss became more passionate.
His hands hungrily pulled at my hips, as if he was trying to close a gap between us. My hands found their way to the base of his skull, playing with his hair as we kissed. He moved from my mouth, peppering kisses along my jawline and neck. I arched my neck so he could kiss it freely, that all too familiar lust rising in my body.
"Reaver…" I muttered quietly. He stopped and looked at me.
"Yes Jay?" He said quietly. I felt my face flush, it was strange hearing him say my name. I chewed on the inside of my cheek, glancing at the castle behind us then over the city.
"Think it's too early to retire for the night?" I asked. My mind was running a million miles an hour, between wanting to get out of my heels but also fantasizing about the night in the cabin.
It felt as though I was craving to be in bed with him, and perhaps I was. Our playful teasing through the years had built up an almost agonizing lust in me. I shook my head slightly, shaking my thoughts. Reaver's face was twisted in his familiar smirk.
"I thought you'd never ask." He chuckled as he kissed me once again and took my hand. "Come, let's get you out of those heels."
~~~~~~~~~
As we were walking back to the bedroom I felt a slight darkness creep over the castle. I felt the ache in my bones as I relived the feeling of being near the Crawler. I tightened my grip on Reavers hand as I shivered. He looked down at me, cocking his head a bit.
"Everything alright Jay?" He questioned quietly.
I nodded as I looked up at him.
"I'm alright, just temperature change." I lied. He gave me a 'I-Don't-Believe-You-But-Alright' look and nodded.
"Alright, if you promise." He replied as he looked back down the hallway. I followed suit with my glance as I tried to push the eerie feeling away.
We reached the door to the bedroom and I stopped. Reaver stopped as well and turned to me, taking both my hands.
"Jay." He said quietly. "I may be a narcissistic, egotistical asshole, however I do actually care about you." He said as if he were admitting it to me. I let out a soft sigh.
"I'm really alright Reaver. " I trapped his hands with mine for a second, trying to reassure him that I was alright.
He hung his head a bit.
"I don't believe you for a second but I will stop prying." I nodded and leaned up kissing him softly.
"Reaver, it's our wedding night. Let us not bring it down, there will be plenty of that for later." He rested his forehead against mine.
"You're a bad liar Jay." He whispered as he kissed my head. I leaned against him letting out a sigh.
Sitting there quietly I moved away for a moment.
"Come. I'm sick of wearing heels." Reaver smirked and pushed the bedroom door open.
"Well, let's fix that shall we?" He scooped me up after the door was open. I held onto his neck as he carried me over to the bed. He sat me down and kneeled next to the bed, taking each heel off gently.
After the heels were off he gave my feet a small massage, I leaned back onto my elbows. Reaver glanced up at me momentarily, before returning to rubbing my feet. I looked down at him, pulling my leg away from him. He looked at me resting his hands on his knees.
"You alright up there?" He questioned.
I looked down at him, his familiar smirk placed upon his lips.
"Yes, just...relaxed." He nodded and moved up, placing a kiss on my abdomen. My legs shifted to his sides as he moved between my hips.
"Well, if you allow me Your Majesty?" I felt a warm shiver go across my being.
"Permission granted, my dear advisor." Reaver smiled heavily as he moved back to the floor.
His hands moved up my legs tickling my flesh, moving towards my hips. I reached up pulling my hair out of its bun, throwing it loosely onto the bed. Reaver gripped the top of my underwear, pulling them off me. Similar to the cabin, he tossed them aside, happy to be rid of them. I looked at him as he gripped my hips pulling me to the edge of the bed.
I flopped back onto the bed letting out a giggle. Reaver tugged the gown up towards my hips, letting them rest mid thigh. I felt the blush running over my body as he moved between my legs. I quickly moved my hands to his head, tugging his hair as he dove straight in. His mouth moved professionally, hitting all the right spots in my woman hood.
"Fuck." I hissed as I threw myself back on the bed, pulling his hair more. He growled against me, annoyed that I tugged hard on his hair. I chewed on my lip as he continued to work on me. Moans slowly overcome my body, throwing me up to curl into Reaver. He took this moment to hold me there against him.
That familiar feeling returned to my lower abdomen. I gasped as I chewed on my inner cheek.
"R-Reaver…" I begged. He pulled into him, still working my cunt.
"Rea….Reaver!" I moaned loudly as I felt my body release the tension it had built up.
I slumped against him, my body already twitching from its release. Reaver let me go, allowing me to relax. He licked his lips as he crawled on top of me, moving the dress to my hips. He pressed against me, allowing me to feel his hard member through his pants. I whimpered as he rubbed against my sensitive pussy.
"R-reaver…" I gasped as I grabbed onto him.
"Yes My Majesty?" He asked slyly. I looked at him as I felt my body gloss over. I was drawn into an almost trance like state of mind.
"Please…" I begged.
He smirked and quickly got to work. With swift, fluid motions my dress was unzipped and tossed aside. Being unable to fully process everything, I didn't even notice Reaver removing his own clothing.
"Get comfortable." He ordered. I quickly obeyed and moved to rest my head on the pillows.
Reaver smiled as he moved back to his position between my legs. He adjusted himself, pressing his member against my opening. "I must warn you, for some this hurts the first time." I nodded and wrapped my arms around him. He leaned down kissing me passionately as he began to push into me. I felt myself stretching to fit him.
I hissed as I clawed into his shoulders.
"Nhg." I whined as he pushed the rest of himself into me. He looked down at me.
"You alright?" He questioned. I nodded and relaxed my arms a bit.
He gave his head a tilt as he leaned down into me. We sat there for a brief moment, as he allowed me to adjust. He re-positioned his hand a bit before he began to move, slowly at first but gradually picking up speed. Each thrust was met with a moan from me, curling up into him. I wrapped my legs around his hips, pulling him close.
"Reaver!" I gasped as I held onto him. He continued to thrust into me, speeding up with each thrust. My nails dug into his back, breaking the skin. He let out a small growl as he thrust harder into me, ramming his hips against mine. I screamed.
Not a blood curdling scream, but a different one. One that you do when you just don't know what else to do. My nails dug deeper into his skin. He growled and forced his mouth to mine, his tongue forcing its way into my mouth. Our tongues began a waltz of their own as the passion rose.
Reaver pulled away, moving away from my body. I gave him a pout as he came to a stop. He removed himself from me and grabbed me, flipping me to my hands and knees. I buried my face into the pillows, slumping the top half of my body into the bed. Reaver re-positioned himself as he pushed back into me.
I gasped loudly as I clawed at the bedding. He quickly returned to his hard, deep thrusting. My body quickly became tense as the new sensation overcoming my body. My toes curled as I came again, and again. My body was starting to become exhausted, Reaver not letting up his pace.
I screamed again, trying to react to the pleasure somehow. Reaver moved once again, placing my leg over his shoulder. He quickly moved back into me, folding me in half. Once again he thrust hard into me. Trying to muffle my sounds a bit by covering my mouth with my arm.
"Reaver...I can't …" I moaned into my arm. Reaver smirked at me, his hair had fallen in his face, due to his vigorous movements. My eyes rolled back into my head as I released once again, this time Reaver thrust hard and deep into me, his body twitching as he released well. He moved my leg off his shoulder and laid against me kissing me softly.
"Everything alright My Majesty?" He questioned through a chuckle.
I had no words and simply nodded. He smiled and kissed me again, sliding out of me. I felt the fluids wash over my rampaged cunt, as he moved to lay next to me. He pulled me close to him, holding me as we came down from our high. I forced my eyes to stay open as I ran my hand against his chest.
"Get some sleep Jay, you need it." He smiled as he kissed my forehead again, relaxing against the pillows. He let out a sigh of relief as he relaxed. My eyes drifted shut as I allowed the slumber to take my being.
Chapter Text
Reaver and I had been married a few months now, and watching him try to be king is hilarious. Even though the times were peaceful, I couldn't shake that gloomy feeling that resided in the castle. Once we had finished out daily duties Reaver and I retired to the dining hall, where dinner had been waiting. We sat across from one another, each at the head of the table. I smiled across to him as he chuckled.
"It's quite amazing what you went through to sit on the throne. And here I am just seducing you to the throne." We both laughed as we picked at our dinner. I let out a small sigh as Reaver sipped on his wine. He looked me over as he sat the glass down.
"What's wrong Jay?" He questioned as he folded his arms across the table. I sat my utensils down and cleared my throat.
"I, this is going to sound crazy." I paused and looked at him. "I feel darkness again." Reaver huffed as he sat back against his chair. I could see him chew on his inner lip.
"Jay…" he paused, swallowing hard. I looked over him.
"What Reaver?"
"I'm afraid I haven't been very truthful to you." he said as he locked his eyes with mine. I stared at him, waiting for him to explain. " You see, a long, long time ago…" he paused again as he shifted in his seat. "Back in my young adult days. I was...afraid of death. I made a deal with the Shadow Court. They offered me immortality, for the price of one soul. I agreed quickly, I could just become a guard, kill bandits and it would keep me young. It wasn't until I returned home that I had realized my mistake.
The town was aflame, bandits rampaged the streets. Men, women and children being slaughtered in the streets. It didn't rush me until I heard her scream." He choked a bit as he took a gulp of his wine. " She was, Canary. Two bandits had her, dragging her by her hair. I tried to run to her but was attacked by one of the bandits. The next thing I know I'm waking up to the charred remains of a village, nothing was alive but me. What the Shadow Court didn't tell me before was that there was a down-payment." I cleared my throat as he took a large swig of my own wine. His story wasn't unbelievable knowing what I've seen.
"Reaver…" I tapped my glass as I tried to unscramble my words. " How. How old are you?" He let out a deep sigh as he looked away from me. "One thousand, three hundred fifty…my birthday just passed, I need to make a sacrifice soon." He admitted. I looked away from him as I covered my mouth, taking in what he was saying. My memory went back to the day of the luncheon when Reaver appeared out of nowhere and looked…
"A bit younger somehow." I whispered. Reaver looked up at me. "The Luncheon, I was the only one who noticed you looked younger." Reaver huffed as he looked down again.
"I had just sacrificed someone and had an extra pip in my step. I didn't plan to wind up here, let alone." He scoffed "I didn't expect to become king." I nodded as I cleared my throat.
"I never expected to become queen." I said quietly. "I never wanted the throne." I swallowed hard as I pushed my plate ahead of me to rest my elbows on the table. "But I couldn't watch my brother destroy the country. So I did what needed to be done." I looked up at him as I tapped the table. "Looks like it's time to dip into the darkness."
~~~~~~~~~
Reaver and I strolled the streets of Bowerstone. Even with the things I have done to clean it up, there were still beggars in the streets. Cerberus walked by my side as we looked for someone young, a prostitute or unmarried woman. Reaver held his composure as we walked. I looked at him.
"Reaver." I stopped dead in my tracks, Cerberus sitting by my side. Reaver turned as he walked back over to me.
"Yes, My Majesty?" He questioned. I pulled him in whispering in his ear.
"I know someone, she's perfect." I smiled as I held his hand. Reaver happily smirked at me.
"She would be very easy to convince." He gave my hand a squeeze. "Well, lets not dilly dally shall we?" I nodded as we both walked off, hands entwined.
I let go of Reavers hand as we stood in front of the woman's house.
"Her name is Benjamina." I commented. Reaver scoffed.
"I remember her, I had to kick her off my property numerous times." He tapped his cane as he looked over the house. "Did she really have you sneak in and steal my underwear?" I rolled my eyes at him as I smiled.
"She has an entire shrine dedicated to you." Reaver chuckled.
"Oh this should be interesting." He said as he made his way to the door. I watched as he knocked on it, waiting patiently. He turned back to me and waved, a smile beaming across his face. I smiled back and ducked behind the wall, keeping my ear pierced.
I heard the door to her home open, followed by a shriek. Cerberus quickly got up, I leaned down and shushed him. He whined as he sat back down. I could hear Reaver talking as he worked his charm on Benjamina. I could only imagine her face right now. She started talking as I heard a Reaver try to gently push her away. She insisted that she show him his room. Even as the Reaver tried to protest I heard her drag him up the stairs. Once the door was shut I moved from my position behind the wall, up the stairs to her home, peeking through the window. I watched as the Reaver looked over everything she had. I could tell he was irritated. Benjamina was fangirling, she couldn't believe that Reaver was in her home. Reaver cleared his throat.
"Benjamina, darling please settle down." He chuckled as she finally calmed down.
"Yes Reaver." She swooned as she leaned against him. I felt a wash of anger go over me as I went to stand up. Cerberus grabbed my tunic pulling me back down. I glanced at him and sighed as I resumed my peeping position.
"Darling, I know we've had our differences, but you have to hear me out dear." Reaver spoke. I felt my jaw tighten as I waited for what was next.
"Oh Reaver, I always knew you pushed me away because you loved me." She purred. Reaver shifted his weight a bit.
"My, you know me well my dear." He meowed back. She practically melted into his arms.
"I've been wanting to take you somewhere special my dear." He smiled. She looked up at him, a smile beaming on her face.
"What about The Queen?" She asked.
"Darling, don't worry about her, she's too stuck up and preoccupied to even notice I'm gone. Besides it's just a public stunt. I couldn't live without the woman I love."
My stomach twisted as I moved down the stairs, getting out of sight. I heard a squeak before I ducked behind the corner. Next thing I heard was a Reaver chatting on and leading her out of the house. Benjamina continued on fawning over Reaver, he continued to walk. Peeking out from my hiding spot, I saw Reaver glance back at me. He flashed his usual smirk before turning his attention back to Benjamina.
~~~~~~~~~
It had been days of travel. Reaver was constant buttering up Benjamina. He'd tease her then stop before anything could continue. Claiming that he wanted it to be special. On the fourth day of travel we finally arrived at Wraithmarsh. I continued to stalk Reaver and Benjamina. Reaver led her through the swamp ridden village remains. I could hear Benjamina getting skeptical. Reaver continued to reassure her.
"Darling this is the most secret of places and it's dear to my heart. It's the perfect place for us to make love." He purred as he pulled her close. He dipped her down and leaned in as if to kiss her, only to stop when there was hardly any sauce between them.
~~~~Reaver~~~~
I pulled myself back as I brought Benjamina up.
"Darling, please you have to trust me. I wouldn't have brought you here if I didn't care about you." I glanced out into the remains of homes. I knew that Jay was close by and heating every word. Benjamin sighed as she took my hand.
"I'm sorry Love. It's just creepy is all." She whined. I chuckled and looked at her.
"That's half the fun." I said with a wink. I watched as goosebumps ran across her skin. I tugged on her hand slightly, she followed without any hesitation.
We made our way to a small hidden cave in one of the farm lands. I lead Benjamina inside, constantly seducing her. Before she could even register what was happening we made it the sacrificing grounds. I pulled her over to the center circle, peppering her skin with kisses. Benjamina clawed at me. Needy little cunt, isn't she.
I thought. I laid Benjamina in the circle, pressing myself against her.
"Darling, I'm going to need you to lie very still. I want to worship you like a goddess." She happily obliged as he laid still, crossing her arms across her face. I felt the Shadow Courts presence as they filled the room. My breath hitched as I watched the shadows fly across the cave walls. Their whispers quickly began to fill my head. I took a deep breath, as I looked down at Benjamina. I muttered to myself as I quietly unhitched the leather latch that held my Dragonstomper. I held the gun just outside her arms.
"Darling." I called out. Benjamina giggled as she moved her arms away. Her eyes quickly widened as she came face to face with the barrel of the gun. "I hate to break it to ya sweetheart, but I could never love you." I pulled the hammer back, and squeezed the trigger. I watched as her brains splattered onto the center circle. Her blood flowed through the intricate design. The shadows started to cackle as the dove in for their offering. I remained looking at the dead woman in front of me. I watched as she rapidly decayed. I held my breath as my fist clenched.
"I could never love anyone, for I am Reaver." I growled at the shadows. Their cackles turned to silence before they started humming. The shadows all quickly synced up. I felt the life force of the woman run through my veins, rejuvenating and healing my body. Once their hymns came to a stop, I relaxed a bit, slumping where I sat. The Shadows Courts whisperer rang in my head as they fled back to wherever they came. I heard footsteps come rushing over to me, followed by four paw steps.
"Reaver?" Jay's voice broke through to me. I looked down at my hands as they shook. I was transfixed by the blood on my hands, memories flashed through my mind as I watched my village burn. A dark circus of screams. Is what I used to describe it. My throat closed up a bit as I choked down my emotions. I felt Jay kneel down and wrap her arms around me. Cerberus whined as he sat next us, watching us. I sat up a bit, leaning my head back, starting up into the cave ceiling. I felt the tears escape my eyes as I broke down into a sob. Jay caught me, holding me close as she tried to sooth me. I clung to her. How did I get this deep in. I never wanted this. I like being in the shadows ruling not up front like this.

Chapter Text
I caught Reaver as he slumped against me, doing my best to soothe him. Cerberus was whining as he sat next to us, laying his head on Reaver’s lap.
"Reaver?" I whispered. He didn't stop staring at the ceiling as he answered me.
"Yes, Jay?"
"Are you alright, are you going to be alright?" I asked the worry in my voice lodged in my throat.
Reaver chuckled slightly as he covered his face with his hands.
"Jay, I've been doing this for centuries, and it wasn't until today that I felt guilty." He moved his hands off his face and looked at me.
"Jay, you're the first person I have ever been scared to lose since…" he paused as he swallowed the lump in his throat.
"Since, Canary?" I asked softly, still trying my best to comfort him. He nodded slowly as he glanced down at Cerberus.
"Jay, I have been watching your family line since the beginning." His voice was shaky. "Canary had powers like you, she was...special." his lips pushed themselves into a soft smile, his hand gently resting on Cerberus' head. "She had a brother, he had a daughter and a son, Theresa was the eldest, and the youngest was Forrest." He paused for a moment. "Her niece and nephew were gifted with her family's hero blood. Theresa could see into the future, and Forrest would change the world as we knew it." His breath hitched as he looked back at me. " Jay, you're a descendant of the woman I loved, the woman I lost to my immortality."
I felt my breath hitch as he told me he had been following my family line for centuries; I was at a loss for words.
"She would always talk about these beautiful, sun-colored birds from the old Phoenix. When they got old and died, their life would begin anew from the ashes it left behind in its previous life." He paused for a moment, unbothered to brush the tears from his cheeks aside. "Out of your family line, you remind me of her the most." He gave me a soft, sincere smile; something I had yet to see.
The silence between us seemed to last forever as I tried to gather my wild thoughts. Cerberus whined, breaking the silence, and causing Reaver and me to both look at him.
He softly pets Cerberus' head as he composed himself. "Forgive me." He muttered quietly, "That is quite a lot to unload onto you."
"No Reaver, I'm glad you shared this with me." I quickly responded as I rubbed his arm. A smile crossed my face as I reassured him. "It's nice," I said quietly.
"Nice?" He replied almost as if he were offended. I nodded and slumped back onto my heels.
"Yes, Reaver, it's nice. You may be arrogant and a now-royal douche, but deep down you watched over my family, to the best of your abilities. It's comforting to know that someone, somewhere was watching over me after my mother passed." He chuckled a bit as he finally pulled himself together.
"Royal douche, that should be my new title" his smile was wide as he glanced down at Cerberus. I let out a small laugh as I looked around the cave. The dark presence I had felt back in Bowerstone still lingered over me. I stood up, reaching down at Reaver.
"Come, let's get out of here." He nodded as he gently moved Cerberus, taking my hand.
"Yes, I'm finished with this dreary decor." He replied.
Once we were both on our feet we made our way back to the entrance of the cave, Cerberus trotting behind us.
The sun rested low behind the mountains as we exited the cave, bright pink and orange hues painted the sky. Wraithmarsh rested in a thin layer of water, fog covering it like a thick blanket; I smiled as I looked over the skyline.
“This place must have been beautiful in its prime.” Reaver looked at me, a soft smile crossing his face.
‘It was a quiet village, ' he replied.
“Oakvale was beautiful in its prime.” he softly chuckled as he glanced around. “We should leave before it gets dark.”
“Oakvale?” I questioned while also looking around the forgotten village.
“Yes, and we need to leave here before it gets dark.” Reaver seemed on edge and I was unsure why, we had gotten here with no effort at all but now he was persistent to leave. I started to move, walking towards the entrance to the town, Reaver and Cerberus following behind me. I wanted to ask why he was so determined to leave, but I figured it was best to leave it be.
As the sky grew darker and the fog thinned as we moved deeper into the forest, leaving the remains of Oakvale behind us.
~~~~~~~~~
Reaver and I traveled in silence. I was taking in my surroundings as we walked, the cliff edge we traveled along seemed to wind around the mountain. Cerberus whined as we continued walking, I reached my hand down to him, giving him a reassuring pat.
“Where are we going?” The silence broke between us as I spoke. Reaver turned his head, acknowledging my question.
“We’re heading to Bloodstone.”
“Bloodstone?” I questioned.
I had never heard of the place nor was it on any maps that I studied growing up. “It’s a place I used to call home,” he replied as he came around another bend. The path overlooked a busy town, a red aura marking it in the distance.
“Is that Bloodstone?” I questioned as we stopped to take a small break.
“That is indeed Bloodstone, another one of Albion's forgotten towns. It doesn't have the best reputation,” he added.
“Dare I ask?” he blew out a breath as he shifted his weight between his feet, placing his hands into the pockets of his trousers.
“Let’s say it's a town with no rules. Everyone minds their own business unless someone else's business becomes theirs. Hookers on every corner, bar fights every hour. It's a little town of chaos.” he beamed a smile to me as he started walking again, removing his hands from his pockets. I stood there for a moment overlooking the town from the ridge. “Are you coming, my dear?” Reaver called out. I broke my gaze away from the city making my way over to Reaver as we continued on the path to Bloodstone.
The sky had gone dark by the time we reached the entrance of Bloodstone. Reaver’s smile was wide as we moved through the town, seeming like a child in a toy store. We got glares from people as we slithered through the town, I kept myself on high alert in case anybody tried to start something. We walked up to a large home, its dark, pirate-like exterior making it stand out amongst the other houses. I gave Reaver a puzzled look as he walked up the front steps towards the door.
“Welcome to my home away from home.” he smiled as he pulled a ring of keys out of his coat pocket. With a quick turn of the key the door unlocked as Reaver stepped inside, I glanced down at Cerberus, shrugging as we both entered the home. The interior was similarly decorated to Reaver’s Manor in Millfields. My memories flashed before me as I remembered the first time I met Reaver in person. Closing the door behind me I watched as Reaver made himself at home, getting to work on lighting a fire. I made my way over to the small sofa, sitting down as he worked on lighting a fire, which he seemed to be struggling with as he cursed under his breath.
I shifted from one end of the sofa to the other, tapping him on the shoulder.
“Reaver, back up,” I commanded. He threw his hands up in defeat as he backed away. I straightened myself as I channeled a small out of magic, a small fire lit in my hand as I gently tossed it to the wood. The flames caught instantly as the fire hungrily started to devour the logs.
Relaxing once again, I rested my elbows on my knees looking at Reaver as he sat on his knees before me.
“That’s a good look for you,” I smirked as I leaned my back against the sofa. His brow cocked up as he flashed a smirk back at me.
“You heroes and your Will Powers.” he stood himself up, dusting his pants off. “Does her majesty require sustenance?” he asked, placing his hands on his hips.
“I packed some food in my satchel,” I replied as I slung it off my shoulder into my lap.
Reaver took a seat next to me as I opened my bag and handed him bread, an apple, and a few vegetables I had packed for our trip. He took them happily, setting the bread and vegetables on the small table across from us. I dug out my helping of the same food, also setting it on the table, keeping the bread on hand. We ate our small meal, watching the fire as it started to warm the space around us. We were both silent, just sitting there enjoying the warmth of the fire as the night took hold.
Reaver let out a deep sigh as he shifted in his seat. I glanced at him picking at what little bread I had left. He had finished eating and relaxed against the sofa staring into the flames. I finished off the bread that was left and followed suit.
"Does this house have a weird kink dungeon too?" I asked. Reaver chuckled, being caught off guard by my question.
He cleared his throat a bit and turned to me.
"No, this one has hidden caverns underneath it." His cute smirk crossed his face and he leaned forward, looking directly at me. "However this house does have my favorite bed." With a wink he resumed his relaxed position; my face was red, I could feel it. I shifted a bit, rubbing my hands together. I shouldn't be surprised but I am. We had only done it one time on our wedding night, so I suppose I would still have nerves.
Reaver looked over me, his eyes narrowed seductively.
"Are you alright My Majesty?" He purred. I nodded quickly and gulped.
"Yes, I'm fine." I stuttered over my words, cursing myself for being obvious. Reaver smiled and stood up offering me his hand.
"Come, it's getting late." I nodded and took his hand smiling up at him. I followed Reaver as he led me up the stairs to the second floor of the house. The hallway was short and only had two rooms on either side and one at the end. We made our way to the room at the end of the hallways. The interior was a deep cherry wood brown with vibrant red elements.
The canopy bed sat in the center of the room against the back wall. Reaver turned to me, taking both my hands.
"Did I ever tell you that I was a pirate king, once upon a time?" I looked at him, shaking my head slightly. A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he looked down at our hands. He brought our hands up, kissing the top of my knuckles.
"I was feared, and loved." He pulled me closer, resting his hands on my hips.
"Men feared me, women loved me. I was untouchable." I bit my bottom lip as my hands rested against his chest, listening to his tale.
"There wasn't a single night my bed was cold." With a growl he hungrily pulled me closer to him, his lips crashing hard against mine. I wrapped my arms around him, pressing myself into him, nearly begging to feel his touch. With quick strides Reaver picked me up and carried me to the bed, laying me down forcefully.
I hit the bed with a quiet thump as I looked up at him. I bit my bottom lip as we made eye contact, I desperately wanted him to ravage me like whore.
"Reaver." I started. His brow cocked a bit as he listened. I swallowed hard as I quickly overpowered him.
My legs were straddled over his hips, I could feel his cock throbbing in his trousers. I slowly moved my hands up my body, caressing myself as I kept eye contact with him. He seemed surprised, as well as intrigued. I began to undo the buttons on my shirt, releasing them one at a time. Reaver's hands found my hips again, he squeezed my hips roughly, pulling me down against him. My breath hitched slightly as I paused on the button I was working on.
I pulled myself back to what I was doing and continued to tease him. Slowly I started to move my hips against him, doing my best to keep it sublet. With my top undone, I reached up and pulled my hair out of its messy bun, my dark hair curled around my face, and draped over my shoulders and collarbone. Once my hair was out, I placed my hand on his chest and started to grind harder against him. He let out a groan as his hands dug into my hips again.
A small moan rose from my throat as I continued to grind against him. One of his hands moved from my hips to my abdomen, pushing my shirt aside so that our skin was touching. I felt goosebumps go across my body as he moved his hand to my breast and began to fondle it. Another moan escaped my throat as I leaned back a bit, still keeping my rhythm going.
Reaver pushed himself up, throwing me back into the bed as he kissed me roughly, cupping my chin.
He pulled away and tore his shirt off, letting it just fall to the ground. I kicked my boots off, kicking them aside as Reaver's hand found the top of my trousers. He quickly pulled them off and threw them aside, taking my underwear with them. I lay beneath him, only wearing my undone button-up. My entire body was flushed, and I was soaking wet.
Reaver haphazardly undid his pants, trying to get rid of them as fast as possible. With the clothing out of the way, Reaver pushed himself into me, resting his hand above my shoulder, and pushing me down onto him. I cried out as I reached up, grabbing the bedding. His other hand grabbed onto my leg, bringing it to his side as he started to thrust into me. He was being rough, animalistic almost.
The moans bubbled in my throat as he rammed himself in and out of me. My body was shaking at its sudden burst of pleasure, I called out his name, moaning loudly.
"Fuck Jay." Reaver groaned as he moved, pulling me to the edge of the bed. He laid my right leg against the bed and held my left leg against his shoulder. Using my right leg as leverage he started to thrust deeply, pulling me down onto his throbbing cock.
I screamed his name as my body tightened around him, I attempted to muffle myself with my hand but it proved to be useless. Every thrust he did made me cum, sending my body into overdrive. I couldn't think straight, all I could feel was the immense pleasure I was having.
Reaver let out a moan as he pushed down and kissed me hungrily. My leg was stretched up towards my head, causing him to hit even deeper into me.
I kissed him back, moaning.
"Please, please," I begged as I cried out in pleasure. Reaver groaned as he moved down to my neck. He bit down hard on my neck and I cried out once more. With one last deep thrust into me, I came again.
I heard the bedding tear as his release filled me. Reaver and I were panting as we both started to come down from our high. I could feel him twitching inside me, as well as myself throbbing around him.
His voice broke the silence through his staggered breaths.
"Are you alright, Love?" His words grazed along my neck, sending chills across my body, or perhaps it was the aftershock.
Words couldn't be mustered from my lungs as I nodded slowly in response to his question. He nodded and removed himself from me and gently moved my leg back to the comfort of the bed. I could feel his seed start to leak out of me as he grabbed his shirt and placed it against my womanhood.
"I am unsure how tender you are, but we should still clean up." A small smirk flashed at me as I used his shirt to wipe away any spill-out. He crawled onto the bed next to me, grabbing my weak legs after I had finished cleaning up.
He pulled me against him, wrapping his body around mine. My arms wrapped around him, holding him close to me as my fingers danced through his damp hair. He grabbed a blanket that was at the end of the bed and laid it across us before resuming his Cuddling position.
"I love you, Jay." He muttered quietly as our foreheads pressed against one another gently.
"I love you, Reaver," I responded as sleep began to take over.
