Chapter 1: Partners in crime in the dead of night
Chapter Text
The neighborhood was asleep.
It was only a quarter past ten, yet all houses had their lights turned off, a deadly silence taking over the streets. Noriaki made his way out of his house, breathing in some fresh air after being locked inside throughout the day, stretching his body as he stepped out onto the street. He made his way to his usual destination, paying no mind to the neighboring houses or to the parked cars. He put no effort into looking good or fancy, as he was the only living soul out on the streets at this hour. Well, not exactly living, more like undead. His heart still beat in his chest, and he could feel the blood pumping through his veins, yet his skin had no warmth to it. He was cold, like a corpse, and breathing was pretty much an optional feature to him at this point. He could no longer enjoy regular human food, having to depend on a blood based diet to stay healthy.
Being a vampire sucked, no pun intended.
His footsteps were muffled on the dirt, the neighborhood park completely devoid of live at this hour of the night. Nocturnal life was quiet, if not dull most times, and it only contributed to his resentment towards his condition. He missed being able to step out in the sun without getting third degree burns, missed being able to travel and getting to see wonderful places around the globe. Now the furthest he could manage to go without any dire consequences to his existence was the park near his house, an unkempt little place dotted with old trees and shrubs, complete with a sad little swing set somewhat rusted from exposure to the weather. It wasn’t anything special, not even close to what he craved, but it was his own little oasis, and that was enough for the moment.
Noriaki looked up at the night sky, spotting the bright silhouette of the moon through the overgrown branches of the trees. It was nearing its full phase already. Despite missing the feeling of sunlight on his skin, he had to admit that the moonlight was a pleasant sight to see. Its delicate light made him feel serene, like the night was welcoming him in its arms, assuring him he still had a place somewhere, just not out in the daylight. A sight escaped his lips, as he sat down on one of the swings, kicking the dirt on the ground. As introverted as he was when he was alive, he still enjoyed interacting with others, and that had been taken away from him along with his humanity. He knew there probably were other undead scattered throughout the city, hiding somewhere in the shadows, in their own little undead communities, but the thought of having to hunt around for ‘friends’ had him scowling. He had also thought of searching the web for any communities of creatures like him around the area, but every time he thought of doing so, he was reminded of the fact that vampire hunters existed, and had plenty of eyes everywhere, specially on the web. Despite hating his condition, Noriaki still prized the fact that he was still intact and fine, and he was going to stay that way for now, thank you very much.
The sound of rustling from the nearby bushes snapped him out of his thoughts.
He turned his head towards the direction where the sound came from, wondering what could have made that sound. It couldn’t have been the wind, as there wasn’t even a breeze blowing that night. Could it have been a person? The thought of someone else being outside at this time and at the same park as him was unlikely, but not impossible.
“Hello? Is someone there?” He called out, getting up from the swing. There was no vocal response, but he could hear the bushes rustling once again, closer this time. Noriaki furrowed his brows, annoyed that whoever was there didn’t dignify him with an answer. “I know you’re there! I can hear you in the bushes!” He didn’t dare yell at this hour of the night, but he made sure his voice was heard from the bushes. As if to answer him, the presence in the bushes growled, a low, guttural and animalistic sound.
That sound was not human at all
Noriaki felt himself freeze. The bushes began rustling violently, a large silhouette emerging from behind them. To call it large was an understatement, the creature that emerged from them was monstrous, at least six feet tall. It took Noriaki a moment to register the appearance of the beast in the bushes. It was a wolf, an enormous black wolf, baring its huge fangs and growling at the vampire’s direction. Obviously, it wasn’t a regular wolf, it was still quadrupedal like one, but much, much larger than a regular one. He knew what the creature was, and it sent a shiver down his spine. Noriaki had heard of werewolves before, never having seen one in person, but if there was one thing he knew about them, it was the fact that an encounter with a werewolf usually ended fatally.
The werewolf took a step towards Noriaki, its muzzle distorted in a snarl. The vampire had absolutely no idea what to do in such a situation, knowing well that despite having enhanced strength from the vampirism, he would be easily overpowered by the werewolf if a fight took place, and knew he wouldn’t be able to outrun such a large beast. All he could do was pray that the beast thought he smelled inedible and decided to leave him be.
Noriaki had no such luck.
As the vampire instinctively took a step back, all he could see was a flash of black as the werewolf lunged forward, knocking him to the ground with its huge frame. Noriaki swore he had become minced meat the same instant he felt the beast collide against his body, but instead found himself pinned to the ground, a huge paw set on his chest to hold him in place. The werewolf hadn’t killed him, yet. The beast brought its muzzle closer to Noriaki’s face, still growling, and instinctively, the vampire shut his eyes.“If you’re going to kill me, then please do it quickly…” He managed to blurt out, feeling the hot breath of the beast on his face. He didn’t dare to look at it, knowing he would be mauled by the werewolf soon enough, instead choosing to brace himself for the pain that was to come. However, as Noriaki psychologically prepared himself for death by werewolf fangs, the weight of the paw on his chest lifted, along with the presence of the beast above him. Confused, the vampire opened his eyes, only to see the werewolf sitting down beside him. The creature looked down at Noriaki, head tilted to the side as if it was curious. His gaze then met the beast’s. It had the bluest eyes Noriaki had ever seen, almost turquoise in color, and they gleamed under the light of the lampposts surrounding them. Despite still being shocked at the encounter, whatever feeling of dread the vampire harbored earlier was gone once he looked the werewolf in the eyes.
With a grunt, Noriaki sat up on the dirt ground, turning to face the creature that had attacked him moments ago. It had the thickest black fur, making it appear bulkier than it already was. It also looked very soft to the touch, and his human side couldn’t help but think of petting the ‘huge dog’. It was a silly thought, but the fact that the werewolf was indeed looking a bit like an oversized dog as it sat there didn’t help much. The vampire snapped out of his thoughts, looking at the werewolf with curiosity.“You understand me, right?” He asked, not entirely sure he would get an answer from the creature. Surprisingly, the beast nodded its head, its ears perking up. “…huh, interesting.” Noriaki couldn’t help but smile a bit at the sight of an oversized wolf nodding yes at him. “What exactly are you doing here? I’ve never heard of or seen any werewolves around these parts.” The vampire wasn’t exactly hoping for a complex answer, knowing that werewolves can’t exactly talk in their wolf form, but wasn’t expecting to have a huge paw set on his lap either. He looked down at the limb, noticing a weird, wet stain on the fur near the radius. He brought his hand close to the stain, touching it gently with his fingertips, only to realize they were stained red as he pulled them away.
“…you’re wounded.” He noted, looking up at the werewolf. “Did you get into a fight?” The werewolf nodded, letting out a huff as if to emphasize it. Noriaki set the pieces in place.“Oh, you were wounded in a fight and had to retreat, is that it?” He asked, wondering if he had deducted correctly. Once again, the werewolf nodded, this time letting out a yawn after it did so. It removed its paw from where it lay on Noriaki’s lap, licking at the wound before lying down on the dirt, eyes fixed on the vampire. He felt somewhat bad for the creature, despite having been pounced by it earlier on. Maybe it was the puppy dog eyes, or just the fact that the werewolf decided not to kill him, but Noriaki empathized with it, and wanted to do something to help it out. He smiled at the creature. “I can clean that up for you, it’ll heal up quicker that way.” He pointed at the wound on its leg, noticing the wolf’s ears perking up at the offer. “I can also set up a place for you to rest, I live close by so it’ll be a quick walk home, what do you say?" The wolf stared at him for a moment, and Noriaki could almost hear the gears in its head turning as it thought about the offer. After a few seconds, the werewolf let out a bark, getting up from its spot on the ground and nudging the vampire with its muzzle. “Oh? Is that a yes?” Noriaki grinned, standing up with a little nudge from his newfound canine companion. “Alright then, just follow me, we’ll be there shortly.” The wolf huffed, keeping up with the vampire despite its wounded leg.
The distance between the vampire’s house and the park was relatively small, only four blocks away, so their walk back was quite quick as promised. Getting to his house was easy, but getting the huge wolf through the front door and inside the house was quite the task, taking them at least three tries and earning some laughs from Noriaki. Once inside, the werewolf took its time to sniff around the living room while Noriaki gathered first aid supplies. “Alright, I’m gonna need you to sit down for now.” He stated as he set down the supplies on the floor, kneeling down and patting the spot before him. The werewolf complied, gently placing its paw on Noriaki’s lap. “Good, now stay still, it might sting a little once I start cleaning the wound, but you’re a big enough wolf to endure it.” Noriaki pulled his best attempt at first aid on the wound, feeling glad it wasn’t anything too serious, just a flesh wound. He applied a warm, damp cloth to it, wiping out any dirt before anything else, making sure not to hurt his werewolf companion in the process. He also applied some antiseptic spray to it, earning a little shudder from his ‘patient’, but no further reactions as he finished wrapping up the wound in gauze and bandages.
“There, all done!” He grinned at the wolf, letting go of its paw. He watched as the wolf looked down at the bandaged appendage, then looked back at the vampire, wagging its tail like an excited dog. The werewolf’s silly reaction earned a giggle from Noriaki, whose image of werewolves being threatening, deadly creatures with a rabid desire for tearing others apart had been completely changed. As the vampire got up from his spot on the floor, he noticed the wolf letting out another yawn, being reminded that despite being a supernatural being, it still needed rest.
“You must be tired.” He noted, gesturing at the wolf to follow him. “You can rest on my bed, I don’t really use it during nighttime.” Noriaki walked towards his bedroom, its door carelessly left open from when he exited the house earlier. The werewolf followed suit, stopping before the doorframe cautiously, moving his gaze back to Noriaki as if to ask for permission. “Go on, it’s yours for tonight. Just don’t tear any pillows or-“ The vampire was interrupted mid sentence by a large muzzle nudging him inside the bedroom. The werewolf pushed him towards the bed, forcing him to fall on it. “Hey what exactly-“ He was cut once again by the wolf climbing onto the bed alongside him, nestling itself close to his body. His bed wasn’t small, but lying down on it with a huge werewolf next to him made it quite cramped. “…what are you doing?” He asked incredulous, eyeing the large canine next to him. The wolf settled its large head on top of Noriaki’s chest, holding him in place. It took the vampire a moment to comprehend what was going on. “…you want me to keep you company?” The wolf let out a muffled bark in response, the tip of its tail waggling as it eyed Noriaki with the most pleading look he had ever seen. He laughed, petting the top of the wolf’s head. “You’re just like an overgrown puppy, aren’t you?” The wolf huffed, blowing Noriaki’s fringe over his face, earning another laugh from the vampire. “Alright, alright, you go to sleep now, I’ll stay here by your side.”
With that, the wolf licked the vampire’s cheek, a possible attempt at a good night kiss, and finally closed his eyes. Noriaki couldn’t help but smile, even if his face was covered in werewolf slobber. Hearing the wolf’s breathing as it fell asleep was a strangely soothing sound, and, despite having already rested enough during daytime, the vampire couldn’t fight the sleepiness creeping in. The wolf was incredibly warm, a living space heater, and being a cold blooded creature, Noriaki felt himself give into the warmness, resting against the soft fur as he closed his eyes.

Chapter Text
Noriaki woke up from what he considered to be the best nap he had ever since becoming a vampire. For once, he actually felt renewed, warm, like he was still alive. He let out a yawn, stretching his arms and legs. ‘Strange’, he thought, remembering the bed being quite cramped when he went to sleep earlier. Honestly, falling asleep with an enormous werewolf curled up beside you leaves little to no room to do anything, really. He opened his eyes, noticing the absence of the werewolf’s dark, fluffy silhouette. Maybe it had already left?
The vampire rolled to face the side where his lycan guest lay earlier, only to find the shape of something else occupying its place. He thought maybe his mind had been playing tricks on him, since his vision was still somewhat hazy with sleepiness. He rubbed his eyes, reaching his arm back and fumbling a bit to turn on the bedside lamp. A pretty useless action done by impulse, since vampirism granted him enhanced vision in the dark. ‘Well, human habits die hard’, he thought. Noriaki forced his eyes to focus as the lamp faintly illuminated the room, finally able to distinguish the shape beside him in bed.It was…a man? With his mind still clouded from having just woken up, Noriaki’s first instinct was to jump away from the stranger, consequently falling off the bed in a comical manner. He hit the floor with a loud thud, letting out a yelp as his head hit the bedside table. Noriaki groaned, bringing up his hand to touch what would most definitely become a bump on the back of his head. What a way to get out of bed. He could hear violent rustling from the sheets above, as if someone was thrashing about, which meant that the man had probably been awoken by the ruckus.
“You ok there?” A smooth, deep voice asked from above him.
The vampire scoffed. “Sure, I’m perfectly fine…” He muttered, voice laced with sarcasm. Cursing himself for such an embarrassingly stupid move, he sat up from his uncomfortable spot, turning to face the stranger. He then saw who he could describe as the most handsome man he had ever laid his eyes upon.
Finding other men attractive wasn’t a strange concept for Noriaki, considering he had already done so multiple times in the past, but this guy was on a whole other level. The man looked like he could’ve been taken straight out of a magazine cover or a perfume ad, specially when looking at the way he lay on the bed, his muscular body partially covered by the sheets. “…why are you lying naked on my bed?” Was the first thing that came out of Noriaki’s mouth. Out of all the remarks he could’ve made and all the questions he could’ve asked about the situation, he just had to blurt out the most stupid sounding question possible. Apparently vampirism didn’t make you more articulate in speaking. The stranger raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow, seemingly confused by the question, his blue eyes focused on the vampire. “My clothes got ripped yesterday, and I don’t really need them when I transform.” He uttered in the most nonchalant manner, resting his head on his fist. The vampire paused, the gears in his head turning as he processed the meaning behind those words. Clothes got destroyed, transforming, the blue eyes…It was then that Noriaki’s eyes focused the bandage wrapped somewhat loosely around the man’s forearm, exactly the same as the one he had wrapped around his wolf companion’s paw earlier. “You’re the werewolf!” He blurted out once he finally put two and two together.
The man stared at Noriaki for a moment, seeming unfazed by the vampire’s remark about his identity, until he let out a chuckle. “Yeah, that’s me.” He smirked, pointing a finger at Noriaki. “And you’re the blood sucker that helped me out.” Noriaki had no idea what he'd expected the werewolf to look like in human form, but nothing he could’ve pictured would’ve come close to reality. Though, if anything, his eyes were still the same ocean blue color, and that familiar feature put the vampire at ease.
“I guess so…” Noriaki couldn’t help the smile forming on his lips, remembering how glad the werewolf seemed once he had patched his wound up. “Mind telling me your name? It’d be good to know you as something other than ‘mystery vampire’.” The werewolf asked, and, despite his rather stoic expression, his eyes were filled with wonder. Noriaki gave him a toothy smile, sharp fangs showing as he reached his hand out.
“I’m Noriaki Kakyoin, pleased to meet you.” The werewolf eyed the vampire’s hand, a faint smile forming on his lips as he returned the gesture, grabbing Noriaki’s hand and shaking it. “Jotaro Kujo, pleased to meet you too.”
Their hands lingered on the handshake for a long moment, only breaking apart once Jotaro spoke up. “By the way, mind lending me your phone? I need to call the old man over to bring me some clothes.”
Noriaki had waited for a few minutes outside the room while Jotaro talked on the phone, not wanting to intrude much on the other man’s life. However, despite closing the door behind him, he could still hear the loud voice of an older man coming from the phone as Jotaro tried to speak. He couldn’t make out what the man was saying, but he could tell he was agitated. Jotaro kept trying to assure whoever it was on the other end of the line that everything was ok and that he needed some clothes, all while speaking in a monotone voice, making the situation more comical than it should be.
With a sudden slam, the bedroom door opened, earning a small jump from a startled Noriaki. Jotaro stood by the doorframe wrapped in the bedsheets to cover himself, one hand extending Noriaki’s phone towards him. “Thanks, the old man will be dropping by soon.” Noriaki nodded, taking the phone and storing it back in his pocket. “If you don’t mind me asking, is the ‘old man’ your father?”
“He’s my grandpa, dad’s traveling and I don’t really talk with him much anyway.”
“Huh, that’s fair. Is your grandpa a werewolf too by any chance?” He asked, shuddering at the thought of another massive beast invading his house to maul him to death for ‘kidnapping’ Jotaro or something similar.
“Yeah, everyone on my mom’s side of the family is.” Oh, great.“I wouldn’t worry about it though, he’s mellowed out with age so he’s pretty harmless.”Noriaki let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding, visibly relieved that his life wasn’t in danger.
One less problem to worry about.
As a moment passed, a loud growling sound broke the silence. One look at Jotaro’s face made the situation clear.“…are you hungry?” Noriaki asked, amused by how uncomfortable his newfound friend seemed.“…yeah.” The vampire chuckled at the response.“I can make you something to eat if you’d like me to.”Jotaro stood pensive for a second.“I’d like that.”
-
Noriaki had managed to dig out a frozen piece of meat from a few days back, when he had tried to find an alternative for blood to make feeding easier, and ended up cooking it for Jotaro. It wasn’t much, and it probably wasn’t the tastiest, but the werewolf scarfed down the meal like it was the best meal he had ever had in his life. Noriaki made a mental note to beware hungry werewolves in the future.
They sat on the living room couch, mindlessly watching an old cartoon rerun on the tv as they waited for Jotaro’s grandfather to drop by. Noriaki payed little attention to it, but it had something to do with mice trying to take over the world.
A sudden, loud banging on the door notified them that their expected guest had arrived.
Noriaki got up from the couch, making his way to the door and looking through the peep hole. An old man stood there, visibly distressed as he banged on the door once again.
“Hey Jotaro, I think it’s your grandpa.”
“What does he look like?”
“Uh, he’s got a beard, he’s wearing a hat and a coat, and he’s got gloves on. He’s also got a bag on his shoulder. Can’t see much more other than that.”
“Yeah, that’s him alright.”
Shrugging, the vampire carefully opened the door, using it to shield himself from the sunlight. The old man rushed inside, making his way to where Jotaro sat on the couch.
“Jotaro! Thank god you’re ok!” He yelled, gripping Jotaro’s shoulders as he examined him, probably looking for injuries.
“Tch, of course I’m ok, no need to make a scene.”
Noriaki held back the urge to chuckle at the scene, finding the contrast between the two werewolves personalities to be incredibly amusing. He closed the front door to avoid the sunlight, now making his presence known to the old man, who turned his head to look at Noriaki.
Despite his seemingly easy-going personality, the old man stared intently at him, making it clear that he did not trust him completely.
“Ah, so you must me the vampire Jotaro told me about.” He spoke much more calmly than before. Noriaki had to admit, he felt intimidated. “I have to say, as much as I distrust and dislike your kind, you did a good job patching up my grandson.”
Caught off guard by the compliment, Noriaki mustered a nod. “I just did what I felt was the right thing to do, sir.”
Jotaro’s grandfather smiled. “Well, that’s pretty noble, my boy!” He laughed, casually strolling over to where Noriaki stood and extending a hand towards him. “The name’s Joseph, Joseph Joestar, thank you for caring for my grandson!”
Noriaki eyed Joseph’s hand for a second before extending his own, the old man gripping it tightly and shaking it vigorously. “I’m Noriaki Kakyoin, pleased to meet you, Mr. Joestar.”
“Jotaro! Where’d you find this blood sucker? He’s a nice one!”
Jotaro rolled his eyes, visibly annoyed by his grandfather’s antics.
“Good grief, I know that already.” He scoffed. “Can’t you just give me my clothes already?”
Joseph laughed, tossing the bag he had been carrying over to Jotaro. “There you go kid, go put some clothes on!”
Jotaro scowled at Joseph, muttering something under his breath before getting up and making his way to the bedroom, shutting the door behind him.
“He’s a real piece of work, that Jotaro.” Joseph sighed, his expression changed to one of concern. “Always getting into trouble and picking fights wherever he goes.”
Noriaki eyed Joseph silently.
“Me and his mother were worried sick when he didn’t come home last night, we thought something terrible might’ve happened. I’m glad you helped him out, despite how rude he might’ve been.”
Noriaki chuckled, shaking his head. “Oh, Jotaro wasn’t rude at all. He was actually quite compliant, and a very docile wolf as well.”
Joseph stared at the vampire incredulously, before bursting into laughter. “Are you serious?! Oh my god!”

Chapter Text
Sometime past midnight, Noriaki left his house for his nightly stroll around the neighborhood. It had been two days since his encounter with Jotaro Kujo, the intimidating, yet oddly friendly werewolf, and Noriaki found himself thinking about it more often than he deemed acceptable. It had been so long since he had last been able to interact with someone else properly due to his vampirism, so the company provided by another supernatural creature was a godsend. Despite his tendencies to shut himself in, this time around Noriaki found himself hoping to hear a knock on his door at any hour and open it to find Jotaro standing there. The thought sounded almost pathetic to him, but the mere fact that he could finally connect with another person pretty much annulated the negative feeling.
As usual, his steps took him to the neighborhood park, a familiar and somehow comforting sight. The vampire felt more at ease this time around as he strolled around the trails, mindlessly kicking around a pebble as he hummed an old tune. The memory of what happened the last time he stepped foot in the park brought a smile to his lips. The park was usually deadly quiet at such an ungodly hour, yet he could hear the faint sound of crickets chirping, and he could have sworn he heard an owl hooting as well. He didn’t even know there were any owls in the area until then. In the distance, small spots of light floated around the trees, bringing a mystical aura to the otherwise dull park.
“Fireflies…” Noriaki muttered under his breath, surprised at the presence of such uncommon bugs in the big city. When did all this wildlife end up at this unkept park? Had they always been there? Or had he only noticed their presence now?
Distracted by the unusually lively park, Noriaki bumped into something before him, stumbling backward and falling on the dirt with an ‘oof’.
“Oh, it’s you.” A familiar voice called out with a tinge of surprise.
Almost instantly, Noriaki’s gaze moved to the source of the voice, finding his werewolf friend standing there in front of him, only this time, he was in his human form.
A smirk formed on the vampire’s lips. “What’s with you knocking me over whenever I see you?” Noriaki jokingly asked, getting up from the ground and dusting off the dirt from his clothes.
“Not my fault you’re clumsy.” Jotaro mocked, adjusting the hat he sported on his head.
“I’ll have you know I’m a very graceful person, thank you very much.” Noriaki chuckled, pointing an accusing finger at Jotaro. “And I remember you tackling me to the ground as a giant wolf when we first met, so that one’s on you.”
Seemingly taken aback by the remark, Jotaro stared silently at him for a moment, only to let out a chuckle in response. “Can’t really argue with that.”
“So, what brings you here so late at night?” Noriaki asked with genuine curiosity. “I mean, it’s nice seeing you around, but you’re kinda far from home here.”
Almost as if on queue, Jotaro shoved something onto Noriaki’s chest, which he was clumsily able to catch before it fell on the ground. It was…a neatly wrapped up box? And it smelled quite good.Noriaki eyed Jotaro inquisitively, opening his mouth to question the situation only for Jotaro to speak up before he could say anything.
“…It’s a thank you gift, for helping me out. Mom made it and kept bugging me to give it to you, so here it is.”
That was unexpected.
Noriaki stood awkwardly with the box in his hands, pondering on what to say in return without sounding too dumb. Not that it wound matter much, since Jotaro also seemed to be feeling just as awkward about the situation.
“That’s really sweet of your mom.” He noted, smiling fondly at the gift in his hands. “What’s in the box? It smells good.”
Jotaro shrugged, shoving his hands into his pockets. “Open it up and you’ll see.”
“You’re no fun at all, Jotaro.” Noriaki snickered, walking past the other man. “Come on, there’s a bench up ahead and I want to open my gift.”
He did not hear an answer from the werewolf, but the sound of his heavy steps following behind through the trail was more than enough.
-
The sweet smell coming from the box turned out to be the sugary scent of cookies. Delicious looking, homemade cookies. The vampire could feel his mouth water at the sight of the treats. “…are these chocolate chip cookies?” He asked, as he reached into the box, picking up a cookie. Jotaro nodded, eyeing Noriaki curiously, seemingly awaiting to see the vampire’s reaction to the taste of the gift. It was an amusing, if not endearing sight.
Despite his knowledge that regular food wasn’t exactly nutritious for a vampire, Noriaki threw caution off the window, taking a bite off the sweet treat. And goddamn if it wasn’t the best idea ever. Having lived off blood and only blood for the past months or so, he had almost forgotten the taste of other foods, the sweet and rich flavor of the cookie only serving to bring back his appetite. Bless Mrs. Kujo and her baking skills.
“They’re good, right?” Jotaro asked, aware of the fact that Noriaki was definitely enjoying the cookies. Not like he was trying to hide that, quite the contrary.
“Good? They’re the best thing I’ve tasted in ages!” He said, taking another bite off the sweet. He could swear he saw a smile on Jotaro’s lips as he said that.
Noriaki reached into the box, picking up another cookie, only to extend it to Jotaro’s direction. “Here, take it.”
“No, it’s your gift.”
“I won’t be able to eat everything, I want you to have at least one.”
Despite his initial resistance, Jotaro shrugged, leaning over and taking a bite off the cookie Noriaki had in his hand, much to the surprise of the vampire. For a second, he caught a glimpse of small fangs as Jotaro sunk his teeth on the sweet treat. ‘Cute’, he thought, quickly chastising himself for it. The action was repeated until the cookie was entirely consumed, the werewolf apparently satisfied.
“Does your mom’s food always taste this good?”
Jotaro seemed to ponder over how to answer that for a moment, before muttering a simple ‘yeah’ with obvious fondness in his voice.
“Jotaro, I’m going to marry your mom.”
“No, you’re fuckin’ not.”
Notes:
Here's a short update, I'm really pumped now so I'll definitely be posting more often!
After reading over the first two chapters as I was writing this, I noticed every time Kakyoin and Jotaro met, Kakyoin would fall over somehow.I guess you could say Kakyoin is… ‘falling’ for him. (☞ ՞ਊ ՞)☞
I’ll gladly see myself out after that.

Chapter Text
“Jotaro dear, are you heading out?”
He heard Holly ask from the kitchen as he reached for the doorknob. Looking over his shoulder, he noticed his mother was hunched over the kitchen sink, drying the dishes they had used during dinner earlier, her back facing him.
Right, nothing escapes a werewolf’s ears.
“Yeah.” He answered bluntly, hoping no more questions would be asked. He didn’t owe his mother any answers even if she did ask him anything, but he wanted to leave the house as soon as possible.
His time was short and precious, and he couldn’t waste it standing by the front door.
“Alright then, have fun!”
Jotaro sighed, pulling the door open and taking a step towards the garden.
“Oh, by the way!”
He stopped in his tracks, cursing under his breath as he dreaded what would follow his mother’s interjection.
“Tell Nori-kun to come over sometime! I’ll make a special dinner and bake cookies for you boys!”
“Good grief…” Jotaro grumbled, slamming the door shut behind him as he swiftly left the Kujo residence.
-
Almost three full months had passed since he first met Noriaki, and what started out as an awkward encounter at the park, blossomed into a strong companionship between the two young men.
Every day, after the sun was long gone on the horizon and people were already resting in their homes for the evening, Jotaro would make his way through the city, rushing through the darkened, empty streets to get to Noriaki’s house. It all started as just a little visit to thank the vampire for aiding him with his injuries, but soon became part of their routines, as they came to realize they enjoyed each other’s company. Jotaro had planned to keep it a secret from his mother for as long as possible, knowing that once she found out about this newfound friendship, she would never leave him alone. Sure, she knew the part about Noriaki patching up his wounds, and had even sent him a box full of cookies as thanks, but they had left it at that.
Of course, the secret was short lived, as Joseph let the reason behind his grandson’s nightly escapades slip during dinner. He swore it was on accident, but the smug little smirk he sported as he apologized told otherwise.
Jotaro could have sworn he had never seen his mother’s eyes shine that brightly before. As he had accurately predicted, she wouldn’t stop asking him questions about Noriaki, in-between her overly excited remarks about how happy she was that her darling son had finally found a friend he wanted to spend time with. Even worse, Joseph decided to join in on the fun, feeding Holly little nuggets of information he had on Noriaki, mentioning snippets of a conversation Jotaro wasn’t aware he had with the vampire.
He wanted to bury himself alive right then and there.
As much as his family’s overbearing nature annoyed him to no end, he couldn’t help the warm feeling in his chest at the thought of how happy he actually was to have found a best friend in Noriaki. 'Best friend, huh?’ How uncharacteristic of Jotaro Kujo, fearsome werewolf and delinquent.
He smiled at the thought.
-
“Hey Jojo, could you get the dishes out for me?” Noriaki asked, focused on not burning the vegetables sautéing in the pan.
The request snapped Jotaro out of his thoughts, forcing him to move from his position leaning against the counter towards the cupboard.
He would never admit it out loud, but he had been distracted by the sight of Noriaki cooking. There was something about the way his brows furrowed ever so slightly whenever he flipped the contents in the pan, the faint sheen of sweat on his forehead from the heat emanating off the stovetop, and the sheer joy in his eyes when tasting the fruits of his hard work, that caught Jotaro’s attention and managed to keep it for so long. Of course, there was also the charming cooking apron he was wearing.
He swiftly gathered the plates and cutlery, setting them down next to Noriaki on the kitchen counter.
A few months back, eating a vampire's home cooking for dinner regularly would've never crossed his thoughts, yet, here he was. Eagerly awaiting as Noriaki added one last pinch of seasoning to the seared steak he was preparing as the main dish. The smell was mouth watering.
"Alright, dinner's ready!"
Noriaki happily announced, making his way to the dinner table with two plates filled with savory goodness.
"This one's yours, Jojo."
Jotaro perked up on his seat, eyeing the dish set in front of him with restrained hunger, the big steak Noriaki was preparing earlier staring back at him.
He paused.
"...you ok there?" Noriaki asked mid spearing a potato wedge with his fork, eyeing Jotaro expectantly. "Is the meat overcooked? You don't have to eat it if you don't want to."
"Aren't you gonna eat it too?"
This time, Noriaki was the one who paused, raising an eyebrow at the werewolf's question. "...I made it for you, Jojo. I know how much you like meat, so I got you a bigger beef this time around." He stated nonchalantly, biting the potato wedge off his fork. "Also, If I wanted steak, I'd have prepared some for me, now stop thinking about it and just eat it. I can hear your stomach grumbling from here."
Jotaro felt weirdly conscious of his complaining stomach, and, after managing to calm down his rapidly beating heart, finally decided to dig in. Cutting a large chunk off the steak, he eagerly took a bite, savoring the tender texture and complementing seasoning. His mother's cooking was the best in the world, but he'd be damned if Noriaki's wasn't a close second.
“If you had a tail you’d be wagging it right now.”
Noriaki noted, a smug look on his face as he observed Jotaro gleefully tear apart the steak.
"Shut up." The werewolf muttered between mouthfuls, no real venom behind his words.
"You're just mad that I'm right."
As they sat across each other at the dinner table, bantering in between mouthfuls, Jotaro became all too aware of Noriaki's presence. The gleam in his eyes whenever he made a witty remark, the faint tint to his usually pale cheeks as he laughed, how he no longer felt conscious about his fangs whenever he smiled, the way his hair looked awfully soft and silky.
'Fuck' He thought, feeling his heartbeat grow faster at the sudden realization.
He had fallen hard for his best friend.
Notes:
Ayyyyy I'm still alive and I bring y'all a short update!
In my mind, Jotaro is always the one who falls in love first, and no one can convince me otherwise.
