Work Text:
“Are you already leaving?~”
Dazai turned towards the customer he had been flirting with and smiled.
“Sorry sweety~ But my shift is over and I have a very important thing to do today~”
“Don't you say that every time?”
“Maybe I do~ See you tomorrow~”
The brunet sing-songed before he disappeared in behind the bar he worked at. The bandaged changed back to his everyday clothes and left through the backdoor. Soon he walked down the street to return to his old apartment. Once in the hallway Dazai got out of his shoes and hung his coat on the hanger. The bandaged then stood there for a little bit in silence. Not because he didn't know what he wanted to do now, but because he was listening. In this world there existed no humans. But creatures that lived like humans. It existed all kinds of creatures pretending to be the humans that once lived among them.
Dazai opened his eyes again and stepped deeper into the dorm. The society he lived in was pretty simple. All creatures were to live on equal footing, except the angels and the demons who were the guardians of order. The angels protected the light and the demons protected the dark. Despite all those old stories that humans had come up with, demon and angels had never once fought each other. They had argued, yes, but weapons were never drawn. Those two races had too much in common to feel the need to fight between them. That's what outsiders believed at least. In reality, the two races had so many rules to follow that just looking at someone from another race was exhausting. There were many rules... but one rule stood in the brunet's way the most. A rule that once had been something he had been the best at among his fellow demons. Neither angels nor demons were allowed to feel emotions. It was forbidden. Emotions would only get in the way of their sacred duty.
“But I'll change that...”
The bandaged walked over to his built-in wardrobe and opened it. With a frown, he looked among the clothes he had.
“Why is it always so hard... hm... this will have to do...”
Dazai soon stood in front of the mirror and tied a white tie around his neck. Black shirt, white vest with silver broidery, white pants and a white coat that hung over his shoulders. The coat also with silver broidery. The brunet studied himself in the mirror for a bit and remembered the bandage that covered his right eye. He took it off and rolled it, putting it away.
“Hm... oh right!~”
A pair of dark brown horn started to grow out from right above his hairline. The horns twisted slowly as they grew back over his head. Sapphire blue stones decorated the outer rim like drops. Dazai then moved some hair to behind one ear and finally, he felt somewhat satisfied with how he looked. His long thin tail moved under his coat as the brunet closed the wardrobe and walked back to the hallway. Putting on his shoes before opening the front door.
The other side of the door no longer lead to the corridor all apartment front doors in the building led to. No, now he stood on a platform made of coloured glowing glass. The coloured glass made to form an image. The door he had stepped out of got closed behind him and the brunet started walking. The clear night sky around him with clear colourful stars is his only company. Once the demon is at the edge of the platform a step made out of glass and a golden frame materialized in front of him. Dazai stepped onto it and another step took form. Step by step the stair materialized for him. Leading him down from the platform he had entered this special space on. Down to a stone platform where a tall gothic-style tower was placed upon.
Dazai stopped in front of the gigantic doors that was the tower's entrance. The doors slowly opened up for him and he entered. The steps he had used to get to the tower had by now vanished. The brunet had created this space himself. He was a powerful demon after all. He was the only one that could enter this place. A place the bandaged have something of the utmost value. No... what he had hidden away in this tower is far more priceless than any numbers can come up with. His greatest treasure.
The tower was just two floors. Even if the length told a different story. The only way up to the second floor was by a platform that worked almost like an elevator. It just worked on enchanted crystals, instead of mechanical parts. Dazai walked up to the middle of the gigantic room he had entered. The platform started to move once he stood at it and took him upwards.
The second floor had enchanted walls and ceiling, making it look like it was completely open. From the enchanted ceiling a gigantic golden birdcage is attached with thick golden chains. A golden spiral staircase was the only way up to the birdcage. So the brunet started his climb up the stairs. Once at the entrance of the cage he merely placed his hand on the handle. With a click, he was able to open the cage. Yes, the cage was locked, only he was able to open it with a simple touch.
“How are you feeling today?”
He sighed at the lack of response as he entered the cage. The cage door closed behind him. The hazel-brown gaze wanders the cage and he started checking on the many exotic flowers that filled the cage. The many flowers all in a shade of red. As well as the silk fabric hanging from the cage's ceiling.
“I can't help but wonder... how long do I need to keep you here?...”
Dazai was finished checking the flowers and walked over to the middle of the room. Where his treasure was placed upon a gigantic round bed built into the golden cage floor. The bandaged smiled painfully as he sat down on his knees beside the bed. Looking at his beloved angel's sleeping expression.
“Chuuya... are you dreaming about something pleasant?...”
Chuuya was dressed in a beautiful golden evening gown. Decorated with glitter, golden feathers and thin transparent golden silk. Her pure white gigantic wings rested upon the mattress among the golden fabric of the dress. The wings looked to glow in the weak light of the realm Dazai had created just to keep her safe. Her long wavy hair decorated with small golden glass pearls and golden accessories decorating her head, ears, neck, wrists and even fingers. Her lips painted in red and eyelids in a similar colour. Black framing those for now closed eyes. The brunet gently stroked the redhead's cheek.
“Soon love... soon I can change it all... then we can truly be together... Soon...”
Something dark glinted in the demon's eyes as a dangerous smile spread on his lips.
Soon I will have wiped out the angels and demons...
just like we did with the weak humans...
